As
a
frequent
traveler
and
visitor
to
B&Bs
I
was
delighted
when
I
arrived
at
Barbara's
Bed
&
Breakfast.
Though
the
description
on
line
is
certainly
accurate,
it
really
does
not
describe
how
wonderful
the
property
is
when
one
actually
sees
it.
It
was
exceptionally
maintained
and
appointed
in
every
way,
the
best
I
have
seen
in
my
travels.
Let
me
start
with
the
proprietor
Barbara.
Barbara
spent
much
of
her
career
as
a
banker
until
she
decided
to
fulfill
a
long-time
dream
of
owning
a
B&B.
She
is
a
gracious
host,
extremely
knowledgeable
about
all
things
Belgium
and
a
wonderful
cook.
I
thoroughly
enjoyed
my
conversations
with
her
each
morning
of
my
9
day
stay.
Note
that
if
you
want
privacy,
Barbara
will
not
intrude
on
your
time.
However,
she
always
inquired
if
I
would
like
breakfast
conversation
and
I
was
happy
to
chat
with
her
daily.
Breakfasts
were
terrific
year.
Each
day
she
inquired
what
I
would
like
for
breakfast.
She
prepared
eggs
to
order
each
morning
and
fresh
squeezed
juices
each
day.
The
fruit
in
the
juices
varied
day
by
day
but
always
included
oranges,
and
other
wonderful
additions
to
the
juice.
A
variety
of
breakfast
meats
including
ham,
salami
and
more
were
always
present.
Each
morning
I
also
had
croissants,
baguettes
and
other
fresh
breads
to
choose
from
and
a
fresh
fruit
salad
that
varied
from
day
to
day
with
apples,
oranges,
bananas,
blueberries,
strawberries,
kiwi
or
whatever
else
was
fresh
and
available.
She
has
served
me
fresh
mint
tea
and
yogurt.
The
quantity
of
food
at
breakfast
could
easily
have
sustained
me
for
the
entire
day
though
I
naturally
chose
to
taste
the
wonderful
things
to
eat
in
Belgium
too.
I
had
Room
Number
3.
All
of
the
rooms
were
recently
finished
and
decorated
in
a
calming
sophisticated
manner.
My
bed
was
wonderfully
comfortable
with
high
end
bedding.
In
particular
I
loved
the
very
light
weight
down
comforter
that
always
kept
me
at
a
perfect
body
temperature.
My
room
had
a
skylight
and
air
conditioning
as
well.
I
also
had
a
desk
in
a
writing
area
and
a
marvelous
bathroom
with
a
wonderful
rain
shower
head
as
well
as
a
hand
shower
wand.
High-end
toiletries
were
provided
along
with
super
plush
towels.
I
could
not
ask
for
more
at
the
end
of
a
long
day
of
sightseeing.
My
room
looked
out
over
a
large
garden
complete
with
fruit
trees,
grape
vines,
flowers
and
many
other
types
of
plantings.
The
garden
was
wonderfully
designed
and
maintained
and
there
were
seating
areas
for
guests
who
wished
to
spend
time
in
the
garden.
I
had
a
chance
to
tour
the
other
guest
rooms
all
of
which
are
equally
well
decorated
.
Each
room
is
a
bit
different
from
the
others
so
there
is
a
variation
based
upon
guest
wishes
and
availability.
The
common
area
included
comfortable
chairs
and
a
television
again
nicely
appointed.
I
chose
this
B&B
because
of
its
location.
It
is
located
in
a
charming
village
a
short
bus,
car
or
train
ride
from
the
heart
of
Brussels
and
conveniently
located
from
the
airport.
The
village
has
a
number
of
restaurants
(I
only
had
the
chance
to
eat
in
the
Indian
cuisine
one
which
was
terrific),
supermarkets,
a
butcher
shop,
bakeries
and
of
course
chocolate
shops.
I
explored
the
village
several
times.
I
spent
time
some
days
in
Brussels,
Bruges,
Ghent,
Leuven,
and
traveling
the
countryside.
Barbaraโs
Bed
and
Breakfast
provided
a
perfect
place
to
serve
as
my
home
base
for
my
travels.
There
is
so
much
more
to
see
in
Belgium
than
I
expected.
I
plan
to
make
another
trip
to
continue
exploring
the
country.
When
I
do
I
will
again
make
Barbaraโs
Bed
and
Breakfast
my
home
base!
As
you
ready
my
words
you
may
be
thinking
that
it
is
just
too
good
to
be
true.
I
strongly
encourage
you
to
check
it
out
and
am
sure
you
too
will
be
pleased.
