A
sad
experience
with
a
very
rude
waitress
who
showed
us
complete
disrespect.
We
arrived
at
14:45
and
asked
the
waitress
to
explain
the
gluten-free
options
available,
as
my
companion
has
an
intolerance.
Firstly,
she
couldn't
properly
explain
the
dishes
my
companion
could
consume
and
told
her
to
go
by
herself
to
speak
with
the
chef
in
the
kitchen.
So,
we
did.
Thirty
minutes
later,
we
were
still
waiting
for
our
drinks,
and
by
chance,
while
heading
to
the
restroom,
the
chef
informed
us
that
he
had
not
yet
received
our
order
from
the
waitstaff.
Forty-five
minutes
later,
after
trying
to
get
the
service's
attention
and
witnessing
all
the
tables
around
us,
which
arrived
after
us,
being
served,
the
waitress
finally
brought
us
the
drinks
-
not
the
food
-
and
I
told
her:
'We've
been
waiting
45
minutes
for
these
drinks.'
At
that
moment,
the
waitress,
in
a
very
impolite
manner,
told
me
to
leave
if
I
had
a
problem,
claiming
‘she's
only
human.’
I
replied
that
all
the
other
tables
were
served,
and
she
again
told
me
to
leave
and
offered
a
half-hearted
apology
again
'for
being
human.'
The
conversation
took
a
surreal
turn
as
she
blamed
us
because
“we
didn’t
order
properly,”
“we
didn’t
talk
to
the
chef,”
“we
didn’t
confirm
any
drinks.”
I
asked
her
if
waiting
45
minutes
was
my
fault,
to
which
she
rudely
replied
that
‘She
also
has
a
right
to
have
lunch,’
what
apparently,
she
was
doing
part
of
the
time
we
were
waiting.
She
then
turned
away
and,
as
she
walked
off,
started
shouting
in
Dutch,
raising
her
voice
to
the
surprise
of
other
diners.
That
situation
was
one
of
the
most
regrettable
experiences
I've
had
in
a
restaurant;
a
waitress
raising
her
voice
in
another
language
so
that
we
couldn't
understand
what
she
was
saying.
At
that
point,
I
stood
up
very
upset
and
requested
to
speak
with
the
manager,
which
I
did
by
phone
under
a
lot
of
stress,
surrounded
by
one
of
the
chefs
and
the
waitress.
I
want
to
emphasize
that
we
never
complained
because
the
waitress
had
to
‘have
lunch,’
which
we
didn’t
even
know.
We
completely
understand
that
people
have
their
limitations.
It
wasn't
even
the
waiting
that
made
us
angry.
What
bothered
us
the
most
was
the
waitress's
lack
of
manners
and
disrespect,
telling
us
to
leave
the
place,
suggesting
that
it
was
all
our
fault,
and
her
shouting
in
another
language
trying
to
get
other
diners'
attention.
It
was
a
very
unpleasant
situation.
The
rest
of
the
staff
behaved
okay.
None
of
this
would
have
happened
if
the
waitress
had
somehow
apologized
to
us
for
the
45-minute
wait
to
bring
us
just
the
drinks.
Instead,
we
left
the
place
at
15:45
angry
and
hungry
in
the
middle
of
nowhere.
