Today
it
was
necessary
for
me
to
have
a
brain/spine
MRI
at
this
practice.
My
experience
was
dehumanizing.
The
duration
of
my
scan
was
90
minutes,
the
technician
did
not
speak
a
single
word
to
inform
me
of
progress,
or
provide
reassurance
in
any
way,
until
the
75
minute
mark;
when
he
entered
the
room
and
needed
me
to
remain
still
while
he
injected
dye
to
my
cannula.
My
experience
of
these
types
of
tests
has
been
vast
over
the
past
10
months
in
treatment
for
Stage
III
cancer.
I
have
not
once
had
an
experience
as
distressing
as
this.
At
the
bare
minimum
in
these
types
of
tests
it
is
reasonable
to
expect
an
indication
of
time
lapsing
and
remaining
at
occasional
intervals,
particularly
in
a
test
that
lasts
90
minutes.
I
asked
the
practice
manager
to
provide
me
with
details
of
the
patient
support
protocol
and
she
refused
to
explain
how
they
provide
care
.
Even
after
the
tech
himself
acknowledged
that
he
had
not
spoken
to
me
through
the
scan,
she
tried
to
tell
me
that
my
experience
was
‘regular’.
Given
my
experience
and
the
lack
of
interest
shown
in
addressing
my
concerns
I
would
say
that
my
distressing
experience
today
is
in
fact
regular
at
this
practice.
I
will
be
referring
my
concerns
to
the
Office
of
the
Health
Ombudsman
in
Queensland.
