OMG!! One of THE BEST Italian Restaurants we’ve ever dined at and we Dine out a lot!! Their tag line says Authentic Italian Cuisine and that is 💯 true! Very authentic Italian cuisine & very fresh ingredients down to the cold crisp Salad. AND then there’s the Bread that’s so warm & soft on the inside with a nice crispy crust dipped into the perfect dipping Italian /Garlic olive oil! Very nice wine list with full bottles available. Our server, Phillip was very attentive & suggested the Special of the day, Red Snapper. He was spot on with this decadent dish. We Dined indoors but the outdoor garden style dining option would be perfect on a Beautiful Sunny Day. Highly recommend Gennaro’s Trattoria!

This place came recommended by the bed-and-breakfast we were staying at. We make sure to make reservations, so there was no wait for us. We were seated at the date night table which was tucked away and nice. The service was great, and the food was delicious. We shared a bottle of wine and I had the Stuffed chicken with spinach pasta. My husband had the steak medallions and he shared cannoli. Everything was great! Definitely make reservations.

Gennaro's Trattoria is an exceptional Italian restaurant, offering a delightful culinary experience with their mouthwatering and authentic Italian cuisine in a charming and beautiful trattoria setting. I highly recommend trying their pizzas, as they are truly exceptional. The Tuscany pizza, with its delectable combination of flavorful meats, Alfredo sauce, and my personal addition of Canadian bacon as a topping, was an absolute winner. The Mussels Al Pepe were perfectly seasoned, tender, and packed with flavor. The Calamari Fritti were crispy and had a delightful texture. The interior of the restaurant is stunning, making it an ideal choice for a romantic date or a pleasant dinner. Gennaro's Trattoria is definitely a place worth visiting.

Went on last day of my stay in area. Wish I had found earlier, would have gone again! Really good food and service. Had a 30 minute wait but worth it. Very popular with good reason. Outside dining was quite enjoyable and added to night. Had lasagne and chicken with pasta, both ample and tasty. Make time to visit.

Great restaurant. The food taste and smells like original Italian food. Sauce is fresh, tasty and not spicy. Breads are good. The antipasto was excellent and enough for 4 adults. All entrees were amazing. We asked 5 different entrees and all of them were great! If you are a fan of good food, you must come here.

Fantastic ambiance, food and service! Thoroughly impressed. I’d highly recommend this place to everyone I know, and definitely plan to come back. I had a really hard time choosing what to eat because everything sounded so good! I loved that they had the favorite familiar dishes like lasagna and Alfredo pasta, but also so many others! I especially loved that they had a lot dish choices that featured white wine sauce. The gardens around it were lovely! It had beautiful gardens and if it hasn’t been raining I would have definitely wanted to be outside.

Excellent Service. Fantastic selections of entrees including daily specials. Support local. Come on out even if for the scenic drive. Beautiful gem hidden in the Texas Hill Country! Authentic Italian food with all the fresh ingredients, that add the excellent flavor to all dishes made to satisfy every palette. We had a party of 10 and we all left very happy and full. Thank you for being part of an unforgettable night.

This place was wonderful. The food was delicious. Started off with Calamari as the appetizer, with a side of bread. My main course was the spaghetti and meatballs. The dessert I had was a N.Y Cheesecake. I am definitely coming back and bringing my Fiancé. This place is great for couples and families.

The best Italian food around. With a great garden to sit and eat with an ambiance of the Italian country side. With fresh cheese and cream sauces you are able to tell the quality of what is happening in the kitchen. To start with garlic knots and bread with olive oil. The garlic knots were warm and amazing. The bread was fresh and was a great start. We followed with amazing crab cakes. Loaded with crab, you would be hard pressed to find filler. The sauce drizzled over was just the right amount to bring the dish together. Finally we finished with the chicken rosemary ravioli which was amazing. The filling was perfectly seasoned and the sauce did not over power.

This is the original Gennaro’s and if you have ever visited the location in New Braunfels I would highly recommend trying this location. The food, service, and atmosphere are at a different echelon. Our waitress was attentive and quick to serve us and answer any questions on the menu. Our food was incredible. Fresh bread and garlic knots with oil are served to your table. From the appetizers to the desserts we enjoyed every bite. Ask for the daily special and you won’t be disappointed. Our favorite dessert was the tuxedo cake, but the tiramisu is also wonderful.

This place is always delicious and a great choice. We had Bill as our waiter and he was very knowledgeable and made everything on the menu sound amazing. I would highly recommend this place and everything on the menu!

10 stars…no joke. Literally my new favorite place. Every. Single. Thing. Was. Amazing!!! Staying at a nearby cottage, the Hubby found this spot he’s driven by before. DO call for reservations. He did and we were able to get one same day. It was a Saturday night and the place was packed. Still we had amazing service. Jeremy attended to us and he was so incredibly knowledgeable. He ran down the three Chef Specials (which included buffalo, lamb with blueberry reduction, and halibut) seamlessly. When the Hubs mentioned a ribeye, he let him know they had those too than had been aged…but there was only one left. He stopped taking our order and quickly went to the chef and claimed it for us. Here’s what we ordered/received: Crab cakes (came with three) with stalks of asparagus- literally the best I’ve ever had! We were told that all seafood is wild caught and less than 40 hours old. It tasted like that was true!! Complimentary bread with oil and herbs- so tasty and we used the leftover sauce from crab cakes to dip. 14oz ribeye with gorgonzola potatoes and a three shrimp- served medium as requested, hot potatoes were perfectly done Gamberi Portabella- this dish was perfection as well. Fettuccine, portabella mushrooms that were the perfect size for bite and flavor, three jumbo crab stuffed shrimp that were an explosion in the mouth, and 3-4 shrimp added to the wholeness of the dish Sautéed spinach- this was unlike any spinach we’ve had. Carried a smoky flavor that was not too much and not too faint. Pleasant on the palate. While we wanted dessert, we couldn’t even finish our meals so opted for a cappuccino to end the meal and the night. This is a rare find in a smaller community. The family started the business elsewhere in 1988 (found that in their website) and I am so thankful the hill country is where they landed. Guys- if your wife is a foodie and you want to impress her…this will do it! Just make sure you have a reservation!!! Can’t say it enough- highest regard and rating for this establishment! A well-oiled machine, this restaurant has it all: customer service, established, well-thought out menu prepared by very seasoned and talented chefs. To the owner- well done! We hope you are in business for many years to come. We’ll be back!

Portions were big and food was delicious! Our server Kris (or Chris? didn’t see a nametag, so spelling may be wrong) was the sweetest! Super attentive and friendly, her recommendations were right on point. Would love to come back soon.

Event: 39th Marital Anniversary. From the time we walked in till the time we left, the experience was amazing. The management and staff were incredibly. This was our first time there and will NOT be our last. The cuisine was excellent, and the wine list was perfect. Thank you, Gennaros, for topping off our anniversary date with special memories.

Fantastic customer service- our Waiter Dane was so attentive and knowledgeable, with the menu and drink selection. Also pointed out the great outdoor seating area. 🍇 Grape vines & Fig Trees throughout the seating area. Very nice location- super great service and great tasting food . Overall 5⭐️

What an amazing dinning experience! The food was superb in flavors! Everything was cooked to perfection from the Halibut to the vegetables. The location was breathtaking and the windy conditions made it even more spectacular. With all the rustling trees and bushes, I almost felt like I was in Italy. The service was also pretty spot on! Thank you, Cole for making our lunch experience a great one. I highly highly recommend this restaurant!

The Alaskan Halibut with Lobster Ravioli and Large Grilled Shrimp over a white wine sauce with spinach was amazing, and so was the Eggplant Parmigiana. This was our very first time visiting, but we will definitely be coming back as many times as we can.

My husband and I visited Canyon Lake for the first time this past weekend! We stayed at a nearby B&B and was recommended Gennaro’s by the owner. We are both big Italian cuisine fans, and Gennaro’s did not disappoint! The atmosphere is relaxing with lots of greenery and vines and our waiter Gilbert, was friendly, knowledgeable and had great recommendations from the menu. We will definitely be returning back on our next stay in Canyon Lake!

WOW! I have heard of this restaurant for a long time and finally went to check it out. It definitely lives up to the hype. We ordered the Fioretina, spinach and gorgonzola ravioli, and the pollo Toscana. They were all delicious. The only thing better than our food was our server, Stacey. She was outstanding. Extremely friendly and courteous. I can’t wait to go back.

Had a good experience as I arrived. The food was fresh and hot. Had the pleasure of enjoying my dinner on the outside tables.

A little bit of a wait to get seated on a busy Sunday night, likely due to the same gap that most restaurants experiencing today with a lack of servers. Once seated though the service was solid and most of the food was done well, especially the calamari and the bread and salads. Went off the reservation slightly for the fried halibut it was bland and I wouldn't recommend it, but the shrimp that were included were excellent. Will steer towards the more Italian specific dishes next time.

My wife, son and I came this lovely restaurant. My wife normally dislikes pasta, but Gerrano's made her a believer. Everything is taste, well prepared and a waiting staff that is the gold standard in hospitality professionalism. Definitely was a great date.

Wow, best supreme pizza ever. And the Italian Cream cake was incredible. The service was spot on, Alexa was always there when we needed something. I never had an empty glass. Over all, I would highly recommend Gennaro's Trattoria.

A GREAT restaurant that satisfied our every craving for wonderful Italian food complete with cannolis. Delicious food and even better prices! We were very impressed and appreciated the friendly staff. As a heads up, it is very busy, especially on a Saturday night so definitely make reservations.

This food was all delicious! The steak was able to be cut with a butter knife. Would recommend reservations, esp for dinner. Everything was fresh and the service was great. Portion sizes were big, they were hard to finish!

I spent many years overseas working for the military, Germany, Italy etc. and Gennaro's is about as authentic as you can get. The portions were perfect and the food itself was outstanding. A couple sitting next to us ordered pizza and it looked amazing as well. I ordered the Chicken Florentine and my wife had the Halibut special (quite pricey) which included handmade crab ravioli and shrimp. Both meals were exceptional and her fish was cooked to perfection. The bread and salads which came with the meals was delicious and fresh. Everything was presented perfectly. I believe we may have found our new favorite restaurant here in the New Braunfels area. Simply perfect.
