Self seating system. Acknowledged quickly. Servers were courteous and professional. Food prepared and served promptly. Biscuits were made from scratch. Pretty fluffy and definitely not canned. Over easy eggs were good as was the burger. The grits were also good. Not all restaurants offer cranberry juice so that was a plus. Nothing out of the ordinary but the customer service and nostalgia merits a better than average rating.

The service was good, greasy spoon kind of diner. The fried pork chops were good, but the mashed potatoes were just ok. The Cherry Pie was pretty average. If they would’ve warmed it up and had ice cream (out of ice cream) for a La mode it may have been better. I really didn’t like the corn bread. It had a fishy taste. Not sure why. Maybe it was fried a bit in some fishy grease. Over all it wasn’t bad, just not amazing.

Came here for dinner because we were craving chicken fried steak and burger. Immediately when we stepped inside, the waitresses made eye contact with us but nobody said anything. No one greeted us. They just resumed chatting with each other. There weren't any other customer in the establishment at this time. Our waitress was an older lady. She might not be having a good day. However, she made us feel extremely unwelcomed and uncomfortable. We ordered chicken fried steak and bacon cheese burger. The kitchen forgot about the bacon. We saw our waitress reaching over the expo line and grabbing the bacon with her bare hand and put it into the burger. The chicken fried steak was served 15 minutes after the burger. My partner had to wait 15 minutes for my food to arrive, so we could eat together. We watched all the other tables got their food. When we inquired about my order, the waitress was agitated. Told us "it's coming" then she went to the kitchen informing the kitchen staff she forgot about my order and asked them to expedite it. When she brought the food she told us "the kitchen forgot to make your order". No apologies. True authentic 50's experience for a colored person. Absolutely would not recommend this place.

We just dropped in for dessert. It was okay. 06/03/2022- Hubby and I stopped in for a quick bite for lunch. Our waitress was great. 12/20/2022-I had a good lunch with my hubby. The tuna salad was delicious and the portion was more than enough. 09/30/2023 - Lunch and service was great. The food was delicious. Their prices are reasonable as well. They get another star ⭐ for being consistent across the board.

Such a fun diner to eat at! The inside has the decorum of a fun old school diner and the food was tasty. All the staff are friendly and accommodating. I will definitely be coming again for a fun diner experience.

Tried here for the first time for breakfast. Love the whole atmosphere of the place. Our server was great and so nice. I love chili and the chili here did not disappoint. I think the only issue with my chili was that it was a bit luke warm. I think it may have been dished while the rest of the order was being prepared but still good anyway. I am usually in the area once a week so I'm sure I'll be stopping by here again!

The waitresses are absolutely amazing and friendly. The food was really good. Fantastic comfort food. I highly recommend this establishment!

Really like eating here, waiters are very nice, it's clean it's good has a nice vibe. Photo is a Ham cheese club with bacon on the side and a Coke. If you are in the area. Definitely visit them.

The Diner was a great experience! Our server was very personable and took great care of us. All the food we had was delicious, from the pancakes to the hash browns to the chicken fried steak. They also had great biscuits. I would definitely recommend The Diner

I wish I remembered our waitresses name because she was above and beyond on so many levels in service and friendliness. The food was absolutely incredible and couldn’t leave without taking a couple pieces of pie to go. I’m definitely recommending to others when they visit Dallas!!

This is one of those local diners that has a loyal following. The food is your average diner fare, nothing spectacular or particularly creative. The coffee has always been pretty bad. My husband used to get aggravated at me for sneaking a small thermos of coffee from home when we would go for breakfast, just can’t do that coffee. The decor is super fun and authentic. We went for breakfast last week after not visiting since before Covid, the one thing that struck me was it looked like it REALLY needed cleaning, windows, doors, floors, everything. The walls inside and out and the signs need to be repainted. It just has the look of a place that is loved but also neglected.

The staff here are wonderful and the food is simple and homemade. The chicken fried chicken is probably the best I have had anywhere. The corned beef and hash is also delicious. To be honest, I haven’t really tried anything that I didn’t like. They also have great diner style coffee that I can’t resist having at least 2-3 cups of before i leave. I highly recommend this place for a good home style breakfast.
