A scenic and popular beach located in the city of Kollam, this beach is famous for the yearly ritual of Karkidaka Vavubali. This beach is located at a distance of 6 km from Kollam. Thirumullavaram Beach is also among the twin beaches in the Cashew capital of the world. This is a great place for Kollam sightseeing.

The place is pretty amazing. It's silent and aesthetic. A part of it is rocky and has a small extension onto the sea. And towards the right end the beach is splendid with coconut trees. The temple and the temple pond adds to the entire atmosphere making it a bit divine. For believers you can even take a bath in the pool and pray at the temple. I would recommend a small ride through the coconuts along the beach, although the path isn't paven so it could get real bumpy. And yeah, there's a huge swing which is tied between two coconut trees it really could knock the wind out of your head. Infact the tiny spot can accommodate every person young and old, adventurer and the chill spirit. You can enjoy a ride, climb a coconut tree, sit and enjoy the see breeze in your hair, sip a cup of tea from the nearby tea stall and watch the tide, or read a newspaper or something, catch the breeze on the swing, get your feet wet on the beach between the rocks. There's this old building which was once a resort or a hotel which is shut, it looks complicated and is kinda nice. The route to this beach isn't a big one, it's a bit tricky. But this place is perfect for spending an afternoon if you don't have any big plans. โœŒ

Beautiful beach. Perfect for sunset. But it's littered with waste clothes. Still a perfect beach.

A great spot to spend your sunset for those who visit Kollam. The attractions include a swing tied between two coconut trees, a sandy beach, a walk along the rock barrier along the beach to see the beautiful sun setting down the Arabian Sea. One can also catch a glimpse of the famous lighthouse from here. The lucky ones will also enjoy the strong breeze which sometimes makes you wonder if you are going to fly away. Just before the sunset, this place is perfect for siestas. There is a kids playground too. And a lot of benches to sleep. There is a statue of Gandhi without spectacles which enhances the serene mood one finds here.

The beach is well-maintained and clean, with soft sand and clear waters. The views of the ocean are breathtaking. There was a small crowd scattered here and there at the beach, but that does not affect your experience of it most probably. Near the entrance down from the Gandhi statue, there's a giant swing suspended between two coconut trees.

An unexplored beach of Kerala where golden sand surrounds clear blue water and the serene seashore is embellished by coconut and palm trees which makes it a shady and silent place. This beach is famous for the yearly ritual of Karkidaka Vavubali. Holding a place in the list of Kollam tourist places, this beach is ideal for morning and evening walks with a beautiful sight of the setting sun. This beach is excellent for sun bathing and swimming. Mahavishnu Temple near the beach is a worth visiting place. Another popular attraction here is the rocky platform that extends out to the sea known as the Sunday Rock.

Thirumullavaram Beach is located in Kollam, Kerala and is considered as not only the famous beach in Kerala but also as one of the most famous tourist attraction site in Kerala. This beach is known for being a quiet and silent beach as you can hear the seagulls and the sound of the waves most of the time. Apart from that, you won't be able to hear anything, not even the sound of the traffic or people shouting. Since there are resorts located beside the Thirumullavaram beach, tourists staying at the resort will be able to have a quiet time at this beach without any interruptions. Most of the time visitors just pass through this beach after spending a few hours here. Since the beach is connected with the major roads you will be able to visit the nearby tourist attraction sites and reach back to the beach to enjoy the sunset. Thirumullavaram Beach is also known for its religious connection. It is said that the Karkidaka Vavubali rituals are conducted at this beach and more than thousand people or devotees arrive to perform this ritual. The ritual is conducted yearly once and has attracted many people over the years. Apart from rituals and religious connection the beach is also famous for its food. You will be able to taste the local cuisine at the stalls and restaurants located at the Thirumullavaram beach. Seafood with coconut milk, cinnamon, cardamom, black peppers, cloves and other spices are the most common ingredients which you will find in all the types of food served yet they would taste entirely different from each other. Water adventure sports equipment is also offered at this beach.

Nature's Canvas Unveiled: A Tranquil Beach Retreat A symphony of natural beauty awaits at this meticulously maintained beach, a haven of pristine sand and crystal-clear waters. As I stepped onto the soft sand, I was greeted by a landscape that transcended ordinary beach experiences, inviting me to a world of tranquility and awe-inspiring ocean vistas. The beach's cleanliness and orderliness set the stage for an unforgettable visit. The careful maintenance of this coastal gem ensured that each step on the soft sand was a delight, and the inviting waters beckoned to be explored. The views of the ocean were nothing short of breathtaking. The horizon stretched endlessly, merging the sea and sky in a display of nature's finest artistry. With every glance, I was reminded of the magnificence that lies beyond the shore. Although a scattering of fellow visitors dotted the beach, their presence did little to detract from the serenity. The atmosphere remained undisturbed, allowing each visitor to immerse themselves in the beauty and peace that the beach offered. It's a testament to the beach's allure that even a small crowd fails to diminish its charm. An unexpected delight awaited near the entrance, just a stone's throw from the Gandhi statue. Suspended between two towering coconut trees, a giant swing beckoned like a playful invitation. This touch of whimsy added an element of joy to the experience, promising carefree moments and a dash of childhood nostalgia. In conclusion, this beach stands as a testament to nature's magnificence and human dedication. The immaculate sands, clear waters, and enchanting views create a canvas of serenity and wonder. The gentle presence of fellow visitors adds a communal charm, while the surprise swing adds a touch of unexpected delight. Whether you seek solitude or shared moments, the beach offers a space to connect with nature's beauty and the simplicity of life's pleasures. A visit to this beach is an immersion in the tranquility and majesty that only the ocean can provide.

More of a religious place than a tourist destination as it is more famous for the Hindu ritual of throwing away the remains of your loved ones. As for a tourist destination the place offers a wide range of different terrains from Rocky to sandy... But ain't much if you want to take a stroll...

It's a very beautiful beach. The best time to visit this beach are in early morning or evenings. It's a calm and less crowded place. The waves at really small and less dangerous but can't go to the deep areas because of rocks. But a good place for relaxation.

Its the perfect place in Kollam District to watch Sunset, a mini Kanyakumari feel. We can go into sea little bit, and play there. Safer beach compared to Kollam beach. Its the place, as per Hindu traditions, people offer prayers to their dear departed ones. Overall its good place to visit to see stunning red scattering light over the sky. Best time to visit is after 4pm, easily we can spend upto 3 hours or more.

Calm and quiet beach, the beach is famous for the karkida vavu rituals every year. The beach area is completely filled woth coconut palms ehich makes the place a shady and comfortable. The beach is best suitable for a walk in the morning or evening sun bath and swimming. Another main attraction is the water hillock named Njyaraycha para ehich could be seen during low tides about one and a half kms from the shore.
