Located amidst the picturesque landscapes of the Chittagong Hill Tracts, this serene waterfall offers a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle of daily life. The waterfall, surrounded by dense forest, is a perfect spot for relaxation, photography, and a refreshing swim in its cool, clear waters. The journey to Remakri Waterfall is an adventure in itself, as it involves a scenic trek through tribal villages and vibrant greenery. The path to the waterfall provides an opportunity to witness the unique culture of the indigenous communities in the region. Once at the waterfall, visitors are greeted by the sight of water cascading down the rocky terrain, creating a serene atmosphere that allows for moments of tranquility and reflection.
This is a awsome place. I have explored many places in Bangladesh. But the journey from Remakri to Thanchi via the thin boat consists the most breathtaking view. I trekked from Amiakhum to Nafakhum and then to the Remakri falls. The natural scenery, the vive, the sky and the mountains - just heartwarming. But as I trekked first time for that long, the tiredness became more apparent. I suggest you to take your time; have some dry foods, a good powerbank and a good camera with you. There is a rest house in Remakri falls but I haven’t been there. Also be mentally prepared to have some long walk, calmness and some adventurous adversity.
One of the best natural place in Bangladesh. Best experienced in rainy season with good water levels. So definitely check the current state of Remakri before going.
Beautiful Place. It's the perfect place to get away to from all the metropolitan Life style. No cell phone connection, no internet. The ideal place to payback, get some rest and be completely stress free.

Remakri Waterfall: A Hidden Gem in Meghalaya’s Verdant Embrace** Tucked away in the lush East Khasi Hills of Meghalaya, Remakri Waterfall is a serene escape for travelers seeking raw, untouched beauty. Often overshadowed by Meghalaya’s more famous falls, this cascading wonder offers a tranquil experience far from the crowds, making it a must-visit for adventurers and nature enthusiasts. **Journey & First Impressions** The journey to Remakri is an adventure in itself. Located near the village of Kudeng Rim, the waterfall requires a scenic drive through winding hills followed by a moderate 30- to 45-minute trek. The trail meanders through dense forests, bamboo groves, and quaint villages, offering glimpses of local life. While the path can be slippery during monsoons (June–September), the vibrant greenery and birdsong keep spirits high. **The Waterfall’s Allure** As you approach, the roar of water grows louder, building anticipation until Remakri reveals itself—a multi-tiered cascade plunging into an emerald pool. The waterfall’s layered structure creates natural infinity pools, perfect for a refreshing dip. The crystal-clear water and surrounding moss-covered rocks feel like a scene from a fantasy novel. Sunlight filtering through the trees casts playful rainbows in the mist, adding to the magical vibe. **Highlights & Tips** - **Swimming:** The pool at the base is ideal for swimming, but tread carefully on slippery rocks. - **Photography:** Early mornings offer soft light and fewer visitors, perfect for capturing the falls’ beauty. - **Local Culture:** Engage with Khasi villagers nearby; their warmth and stories enrich the experience. - **Packing Essentials:** Wear sturdy shoes, carry water, and pack swimwear. A local guide is recommended for first-timers. **Considerations** Facilities are minimal here—no shops or restrooms—so come prepared. Monsoon visits, while stunning, require caution due to muddy trails and stronger currents. **Final Thoughts** Remakri Waterfall is a testament to Meghalaya’s unspoiled charm. Its secluded vibe, combined with the thrill of the trek and the reward of a pristine swim, makes it unforgettable. If you’re yearning to disconnect and immerse yourself in nature’s artistry, Remakri deserves a spot on your itinerary—just don’t forget your camera and sense of wonder! **Rating:** ★★★★☆ (5/5 – loses half a star for accessibility challenges, but that’s part of its charm!).
