Amiakhum Waterfall it's like a hidden treasure after conquering the challenge of Debota Pahar in Bandarban, Bangladesh. It's totally sarunded by the huge step hills in every side. I gotta be real with you, the trek from Debota Pahar is a so steep, so remember to take it slow. But once you get to Amiakhum, it's like stepping into a magical wonderland. The waterfall is spectacular, especially in winter when the water is crystal clear. The whole place has this serene vibe that just takes your breath away. If you're into stunning views and a bit of adventure, Amiakhum is the spot for you!

Amiakhum Waterfall is one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Bangladesh and an excellent place to travel. Every traveler should have a tour plan to visit this beautiful tourism spot of Bandarban at least once and then they will feel to visit that travel spot again and again. Amiyakhum is situated at a remote area called Tindu of Thanchi upazilla under Bandarban Hill District in Bangladesh. It’s near to Bangladesh Myanmar Border. This waterfall is situated in one of the most remote areas in Bandarban. How to go Travel from Bandarban to Thanchi: After reaching Bandarban you have to go to Thanchi upazilla by bus from Bandarban. To reach Amiakum waterfall you have to make a trip from Bandarban to thanchi by “Chander Gari” (public jeep) or a private vehicle. The distance between Bandarban to Thanchi is about 79 km. Amiakum: Route: Bandorban>thanchi>Bording para>Simplampi para >Thandiy para >Bollong Para > sat bahikum>Nakiongmuk>Amiakum waterfall Travel from Thanchi to Remakri: You need to hire a Tour guide. You must enter your full name, address and contact number at the Army camp of Remakri, Bandarban before hiring a tour guide. There is a tour guide committee and that tour guide committee will select an experienced tour guide for you. This tour guide will stay for 2 days with you during the journey to reach the particular tour spot till you come back to Remakri. For the first day the tour guide will charge 600/= Taka (BDT) and for the second day onwards the tour guide will charge 500/= Taka (BDT) for each day (exclude his food and accommodation). You need to hire a Boat for the adventurous journey of Thanchi to Remakri. You have to hire an engine boat to reach Remakri from Thanchi, because there is no rowing or paddle boat there. Boat fare is around 4000-4500/Taka- for an up-down journey but the boatmen may ask for more. So you should bargain with them. Boat journey will take around 4(four) hours to travel from Thanchi to Remakri. This journey is very challenging and tough, especially if you are scared of water and high tide. Because in rainy season the tides of Sangu River are very heavy and it is extremely dangerous journey especially at the place of “Boro Pathor”. In the area of Boro Pathor there are big rocks scattered in the Sangu River and strong tides are there in the Sangu River as well. But the sceneries of both sides of Sangu River are spectacular. You should take lunch at Remakri. There are some good restaurants in Remakri and lunch may cost around BDT 120 Taka per person. Route plan from Nafakhum to Amiakhum: It’s a long trail. You have to walk most of the path. The trek started from Thanchi, then Boarding para and then Simplampi para. From Simplampi Para you can summit Tajindong. After reaching Simplampi Para you have to climb down to Thandui Para. You have to pass one more hill to reach Bollong para. To see Amiakum you have to start journey early in morning from Bollong para. On the way you can also see Sat bhaikum>Nakion Muk. It’s a giripoth (water trail) and one of the most beautiful trails at Bandarban. From Nakion Muk you have to make a Bamboo Raft to reach Amiakum. Return journey from Nafakhum to Remakri: After visiting the fabulous water fall and tour spots of Nafakhum you can start your return journey to Remakri from Nafakhum between 10:00am to 12.30pm. There is another nice waterfall to visit in Remakri known as “RemakriKhum”. Travel back to Thanchi from Remakri: You should take lunch at Remakri before coming back to Thanchi. If you start the boat journey at 2:30pm you will reach Thanchi at around 4:30 pm that is within 2 hours. It will take less time to return to Thanchi from Remakri, because the boat moves along with the tide. Travel back to Bandarban from Thanchi: You have to stay at Thanchi, because after 2:30pm there is no bus service to Bandarban. You should start your journey for Bandarban on the next morning at 7:00am (First bus). It will take around 4-4.5 hours and you are likely to reach Bandarban at 11:30am. Therefore, you should explore Thanchi for the rest of that day.

The Amiakhum Waterfall is nothing short of a hidden gem tucked away in the lush greenery of the region. I visited on a weekend and was pleasantly surprised by the minimal wait time of about 10 minutes to enter, allowing us to dive right into the beauty that awaited us. As we approached the waterfall, the sound of cascading water created a serene atmosphere that instantly lifted our spirits. The hike to the waterfall was adventurous, with well-maintained paths that offered breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. The vibrant flora and fauna along the way added to the rich experience. When we finally reached the waterfall, the sight was awe-inspiring. The water poured down from a considerable height, creating a picturesque view that was perfect for photography. It was refreshing to feel the cool mist on our faces. We took our time soaking in the beauty, enjoying the tranquility while listening to the rhythmic sounds of water. One of the highlights of our visit was the friendly atmosphere. Locals were welcoming, sharing stories about the area and its significance. There were also small stalls selling delicious snacks and drinks, making it easy to spend a whole day there. While the experience was a delight, the only area for improvement would be the additional facilities, like viewing decks or benches where visitors can sit and fully appreciate the stunning view. Nevertheless, I would highly recommend this destination to anyone looking for a peaceful retreat in nature. The Amiakhum Waterfall truly rejuvenates the soul!

Amiakhum Water Fall is a very known place for all who are hiking in Bandorban Hill Area. I also see lot of video from youtube and gather lot of information to visit the place. And last 23-12-2019 to 25-12-2019 we (10 person) visit the place and really great experience for me and our team member. If you want to visit Amiakum then you need to cross the DABOTA Pahar which is the most risky part to downhill from the pick of the Dabota Pahar to Amiakum . So, if you think to visit the place then please see the instruction who are expert for hiking in Bangladesh. I am not expert in hiking but I can say please take all necessary information and set your mind fast and when you take downhill then not see too far form your position. I really like the place and also hope you. Thanks God to give the beauty in our country.

Beautiful waterfall. You have to trekk over the Debota hill to reach the waterfall. It will take 2-4 hours to reach the waterfall from Jinna para. If you want to go the waterfall please put on your trekking shoes. The trail is dangerous in rainy season. Vellakhum is another beautiful place near Amiakhum waterfall.
