This is my favourite stop when commuting from/to Portsmouth. The views are lovely and the staff at the station really helpful and kind. The only thing is I wish they would improve the signposting - once you pass the gate, it can be tricky to quickly way-find as the way to your platform is not always clearly marked.

An awesome terminus station. Right outside there's a great view of the harbour. Inside the actual station there are 5 platforms and a pumpkin cafe. Easiest possible access between platforms, as well as the ends of platforms being connected, there's a footbridge mid-platforms too. Clearly labelled platforms and train time screens. Services run by Southern, South Western Railway and GWR to Cardiff Central, London Waterloo, London Victoria, Brighton etc. Really nice station.

Very basic and tired looking station that has seen better days. Toilets look like they date back to the middle of the last century. One small cafe/shop. The station serves trains to London, Brighton and the West Coast. There is also the entrance to the Isle of Wight ferry terminal. The best bit is when you walk out of the station entrance you are met by HMS Warrior.

A fantastic opportunity to visit Portsmouth Historic Harbour which has HMS Warrior, The victory, Mary Rose, and a submarine across the harbour which you need to catch a boat to get to. The harbour tour was fantastic and great views of all the Royal navy aircraft carriers, which was 45 mins. HMS victory is currently under refit and some of it was covered in scaffolding which was a shame. The highlight was the Mary Rose which was amazing as the new exhibition building was really good and seeing the wreak up close fully preserved and the information about her life was done really well. Highly recommended, but shame about the victory.

Easy access to buses and trains. Beautiful ships always in plain sight so awaiting travelers can rest looking at them

This was a fantastic station for arrival, with a well-sized platform for the train! The station spans many platforms, departure boards are properly organized and navigation is easy. Stairs lead to a bridge, staff were friendly and cleanliness had been enforced!

Portsmouth rail line ending, the hard. Been here for years, but the place is looking much more 'up to date' now, after looking the same for 30+ years. Still only a few small shops and drink vendors, but some good hotels pubs, and obviously the historic dockyard and now also gunwarf quays .... definitely the best place for visitors to end their journey and start their holidays

It's a lovely place to visit whatever the time of year! Lots of places to visit and pubs and restaurants! It's a short walk from Gunwharf Quays shopping centre and the Spinnaker Tower to go up to look at the view! It also has a cafe up the top! You are right by the sea and lots of boats of all sizes are always going in and out of the harbour!

Brilliant terminus station providing services all across the country. Great connection to the Wightlink Fastcat services acrossoss to the Isle of Wight. Station has step free access and ticket machines, with extremely friendly and useful staff. Would highly recommend.

Always impeccable service since 1999. Excellent journey from Portsmouth Hbr to Gatwick Air at an unrivaled price in Europe. Equipment in excellent condition.

Very negative experience today at the train station. Unsafe environment due to staff not being adequately trained to deal with large crowds. Caused me to have an anxiety attack.

Kudos to the amazing staff of this station who picked up my fallen purse & couple more items when they fell out of my backpack whilst I rushed to catch the 6:45pm train back to London Waterloo. When I realised they were missing from my bag, I returned to the station & found my purse & items in the staff office. A big thank you from a very grateful traveller.

Just wanted to say a huge thank you to Sue at the ticket office. What a wonderfully helpful lady! Trains were cancelled and disrupted. She found the best she could for me leaving a few hours later. She told me where the cafe was and minutes later she left the ticket office to come to tell me a train was arriving now! You made my day Sue! Thank you xxx

Great station that overlooks Portsmouth Harbour and the Historic Dockyard. Great connections to buses and to boats going towards the IoW.

Retail was the reason for being in the Harbour zone. Spent time on both inside and outside Gun Wharf. It was busy as expected on an August bank holiday. The whole area was benefitting from high temperatures, sunshine and sales including own family purchases :-)

Amazing station, however when passing it outside by ship/boat the sign mounted on the back wall looked very faced and worn, which makes the station look rubbish on the outside as well as other things. However, good service and a lot of friendly staff made it an enjoyable interchange. You can also access the Isle of Wight catamaran from there.

This station needs some serious love and modernising to meet the requirements and aesthetic of the rest of the Hard.

Frequent rail and ferry services depart here towards London and the Isle of Wight respectfully. There is a travel shop and a few shops and cafés nearby to grab a drink or a bite to eat before you travel.
