Bar Public library

🫤 Everything is ok, I like the space there but the WIFI and computers there are not stable. This time I really write a review regards to the staff at the check-in gate. I got tickets for an event in the American Center on 09.Dec.2022 and I came with a foreign friend. When we came in the check-in gate,... People often mention books, study, free, time, read,

Free library! I was used to be here for 5-6 hours a day, but it is super cold. Don't forget your jacket or long sleeves. Place is small and anytime fully occupied except for 8:30-9:30 in the morning, so its better to go during that time, get the place that the most comfortable seat, big table and close to outlet for laptop. oh, one more thing! Free drinking water available here! I like General Sience Library in D1 better though, it is free here,:)

Everything is ok, I like the space there but the WIFI and computers there are not stable. This time I really write a review regards to the staff at the check-in gate. I got tickets for an event in the American Center on 09.Dec.2022 and I came with a foreign friend. When we came in the check-in gate, the security staff seemed to look at their phone most of the time. They asked us to give them the phone to see my ticket's information and then put our bags through the scanner. The point is the staff was supposed to give back my phone but they threw it through the scanner not in a proper way (I I feel like my phone is almost broken). That really disappointed me and made me feel like humiliated in front of my friend. Therefore, I am writing in the hope that my review can be read and there is something that can be done to improve the staff's professionalism. Thank you.

Nice library, if you don't mind going through fortress security to get through it. They checked my ID, went through my bag and I think they even fingerprinted my laptop! I had to drink some of my water, too, just like airport security. Don't know what's going on there. It's not big but it is quiet and comfy. Big cardboard cut out of Donald Trump, nice view from the 8th floor. Located in the Diamond building, the Plaza with the department store.

One of the coolest place in Hochiminh city to educate yourself! This place is for opportunity seekers. Education resources include books (novel, standardized test prep books like SAT, GRE, etc., references and guidance books for those want to study in the US), english learning video, movies, etc. There are comfortable chairs for resting, air conditioner, computers, ipads, headphones with microphone. I used to hang out at this place during my university years. I attended various seminars that they held, ranging from how to apply for study in the US, visa and paper work; to those about American holidays, cultures and geographic exploration. I volunteered for them when they placed a booth in Hochiminh city's book fair event. It was 4 years ago. For some reasons I ended up being in Canada now. Despite that, I am thankful for the free services they provided. Highly recommend this place!

An amazing place that freely distributes the ideals and history of American culture. I'm a U.S. Citizen and I wanted to find a library in HCMC. Luckily a Google search led me here. It's located inside Diamond Plaza (the mall) and it's on the 8th floor. Just take the elevator up and read the signs (it's usually 1 person at a time that they check and you present a valid ID. I used my passport.) There are computers available for use (limited to 2 hours per session) and tables available for general study. A lot of viet students come here to study for various exams--which is great. The place itself has a lot of (old) books regarding the rich history of the US and it's culture. It also has literature from various authors of popular books, movies (Disney kind and more!), CD (music) and an area for special events. They also have iPads for rent, along with some pillow cushions that you can grab to help you relax and enjoy yourself. A water cooler is also provided in case you get thirsty. Staff here are friendly--as well as the security guards! Don't be afraid, give this place a try! :)

The nonfiction selection is kinda based. A lot of books about/by POC and LGBTQ+ folks that aren't very easy to find elsewhere.

I got my member card 3 years ago and I used to visit The American Center really often. I went there everyday to read books and study for my SAT. I have just come back to the center today and it got upgraded lol (+) New decoration, new machine to look into my bag without touching (thank god cuz i hate when people go through my stuff). A lot of interesting events/activities. (-) It seems like there are fewer books than there were before. They also made me do a feedback right after I walked in. It really annoyed me even though they gave me a small pack of candy as a reward because I had not experienced anything yet. However, it is still a good place to visit! Free water, wifi and computers to use.

Good place to come and read some books. This place definitely brings the productive mood but it's just too cold.

Went there a few times. Those securities treat you like some kinda of illegal immigrants. Understand they have rules for keeping the place secured, doesn’t mean they can talk to you in a rude way when you didn’t violate anything

Nice place, but it's crowded during peak hour with some degree of distraction, Friday for example.

I came on Wednesday and it's really quiet, great space if you want to stay focus. Everything is free, lost of English books and you can borrow for reading, the wifi is low sometimes but it's still okiee, I can watch tutorial video to study. The air conditioner is super cold for me, so you better get your coach if you gonna sit for long time. The parking free in this tower is 5000vnd/4hour, after that it cost more.
