👍👍 Everything about this place was just perfect. But the thing that stood out the most for me was their exceptional service. I booked a tunnel-tour and got sick that day, so they gave me a full refund. If you are going to stay here, you will love it! Enjoyed this hostel, clean, bed was comfy. Not really that much of a social area apart from the sofas in reception but If you sit there long enough, people will come and talk to you. Anna is so lovely and helpful. Would recommend this hostel and would stay again.

I stayed here with 3 other friends in a four bedded dorm and we had a great experience. Firstly, just the perfect location for everything like sightseeing, food, party, shopping etc. Secondly, just the cleanest property and rooms. Thirdly, they provide clean linen, towels and shower needs. Fourthly, clean the room meticulously everyday and free water to refill. Finally, it's about Anna at the front desk. She welcomed us so warmly that we felt like home. Right after we checked in, she gave us all the details of the city, explaining it to us meticulously and made sure that we check out the best places to shop, eat and go around. She was just the best host we had in our two weeks long stay in Vietnam. Thank you Anna.

This is a five-star hostel, but apparently they are required to hire local staff by law, who, it would seem, do everything in their power to run a business into the ground. I guess they don't like westerners profiting in their country. Although the stay started out wonderfully, the jilted receptionist made sure that wouldn't last. Minh did everything in her power to make me and the other guests feel as unwelcome as possible, to the point of me deciding to get my money back and leave the hostel. I recommend that the owner find a way to pay a higher salary so that they don't have to hire people who want to see the business fail. The rooms and guests were lovely, as was the atmosphere when Minh was too deep into her tv shows at the front desk to cause any problems. No hot water.

Very nice, clean hostel. We arrived from the US after a 32 hour flight and tried to check into a hotel we'd reserved that was across the street from City Backpackers. Turned out that the hotel was closed and gross. City Backpackers was open and VERY clean. The staff spoke great English, and were incredibly helpful. They gave us a map and showed us places to check out. The room was nice, had its own bathroom, and came with clean linens, shampoo, and body wash. It even had a TV and a balcony. Honestly, it's nicer than most motels in the US. I'd definitely recommend this place, and would stay here again.

We had booked 2 private rooms for 3 nights here. Rooms were pretty good for the price. And the receptionist was extremely friendly and helped us with all the cool places nearby to visit. And it's not a party hostel. So people looking for a good sleep can definitely look this up.

Anna, from the moment of meeting her was very helpful. Her customer care was incredible. All the staff are very helpful here it's got a really good vibe value for money and it's next to everything right in the centre of Saigon. I will be staying here again it was that good, I booked an extra two nights.

There were so many hotel/hostel accommodations to choose from in this prime location, and I’m SO GLAD I went with this place! I got a private room so I’ll be reviewing from that POV. Anna runs the joint and is 100% responsive with all texts, inquires, and confirmations. Checking in is really easy, and she pointed us in all the right directions for where we could go and what sights to see. She is SUPER INFORMATIVE with real talk advice and suggestions. There are tour agencies everywhere but she’s got the hookups for all those tours like the Cu Chị tunnels (which we checked out; highly recommended), Mekong River Delta (which I’ll have to come back to see), and etc. I liked how CLEAN the rooms smelled and looked, which is surprising considering that it’s a hostel! I was also pleasantly surprised that we got fresh towels and room service every day so coming back to a hot shower was always like new like a hotel. The biggest thing for me was how helpful staff were, and Anna was always looking out for us to optimize our experience with minimal spending. Clean water is free and available in the lobby, and coming down to her warm greeting was always a great start to venture our days. I really don’t feel the need to “try” other accommodations after my stay here. Next time I come back (likely winter 2024), I’m staying here again. Thank you, Anna!

Solid hostel with friendly staff. The dorm rooms are clean and equipped with good A/C. In the 6 person mixed dorm I was happy to find out on arrival that the beds have privacy curtains. For my queer/GNC/trans loves: the bathrooms for the mixed dorms are all gender. I stayed in 6er on the first floor and there was an area outside the dorm with two sinks as well as an attached bathroom with toilet, shower, and sink. I saw one of the 10er dorms that had two en-suite bathrooms each with sink, toilet, and shower.

I stayed in a 10 people mixed dorm for 5 nights. The staff were very friendly and polite. I've met nice and respectful travellers in my room. If you're looking for a laid back place to stay yet super affordable, this hostel is the right one for you. The room and the bathrooms were remained clean at all times.

Anna our host was extremely helpful in explaining the city, helping us with instructions, a map as well. Private room experience was good. Accessible to most of the attractions. Allowed us to safely store luggage. Highly recommended.

Best hostel in Ho Chi Minh where you can meet lots of travellers and backpackers. I stayed in the 6 bed room which was super comfortable with all the amenities included. I would recommend to every traveller who wants a clean and comfortable stay a stones throw from all the local attractions. Rosie on the front desk was extremely helpful and gave great advice!

A great hostel for those on a budget! fantastic location, and Ms Rosie on the front desk in the day time was so helpful and kind, gave us plenty of good directions and suggestions for food. My only dissapointment was that the guy in the room before us, must have packed the TV remote in his bag - but that has nothing against the hostel. Thankyou Rosie 🥰⚘️

Premium location and accomodations met our expectations, (everything worked as it should, and sometimes that's all you need or hope for). The staff was eager to help with local information and bookings and and were very pleasant to interact with. Simple note, a lot of hostels charge for water bottles, but this location lets you fill up for free from one of their large bottle water coolers.

This hostel is amazing! The rooms are clean. It’s so central. And most importantly the reception is so lovely! They helped me with everything I needed. Even when I had problems with a bank here, Anna did everything she could to get my bank card back that the ATM had taken. Thank you for everything!

Anna the main host or owner I believe was amazing on all fronts. She helped us book tours at the most reasonable price you’d find by far, arranged anything we asked for and also is a lovely person. Her right hand man also was amazing. Great hostel 10/10

Amazing location. In the heart of HCMC/Saigon. Walking distance to most of the attractions. Excellent coffee right outside. The owners are super helpful by showing you all the best food and shopping areas on arrival. Anna also helped us book bus tickets to the Mekong Delta. It is really helpful to have a local organise these things to avoid paying tourist prices. We stayed in a private room that was very clean and had a balcony. There is free miniral water tanks in the lobby which you can fill up whenever. Walls are thick so no need to worry about the bustling city when it is time to sleep. Anna and her husband, the hosts, made us feel at home and felt we can always contact her via WhatsApp or call the hostel if we had any questions about the city or were lost in translation. Would highly recommend this spot for backpackers and we will surely be back!

We had a great experience at the City Backpackers Hostel. They were so accommodating. Ana, the receptionist, gave us a map and label all the places to go and gave us great accommodations. She even helped us get a night bus at the last minute on Christmas eve for 3 adults to Phu Quoc very last minute. She made our trip amazing. All of the staff were kind and helpful. Thank you so much for making our Christmas vacation and first time in Vietnam an amazing experience.

Anna and her husband run an amazing hostel here and were so kind and welcoming. We were in touch via email beforehand to arrange a tour with her and responses to all questions were so immediate and she was super willing to help with anything. We were a couple staying in the private double room. Rooms are comfy with good AC and shower was good and hot with decent water pressure and toiletries provided. Plugs are a bit annoying (heavier adapters will fall out) but otherwise no complaints. There's a laundry service too which is pretty quick easy and reasonable and free water in the lobby. The location is incredible with plenty of good food and coffee spots around and Anna's more than happy to help recommend some (very) good Banh Mi spots. We enjoyed our stay!

City Backpackers Hostel helped me in a pinch! I needed a place to stay on short notice and they arranged a bed for me. The location couldn't be better and the staff helped in arranging for everything - sim card, tours, scooters, bus schedules, etc. I was so grateful they held my luggage when I went on a short trip which got extended due to illness. They were so understanding and kept my luggage safe until I could come back and get it. I highly recommend this hostel! Thank you again City Backpackers!

Very good hostel in Saigon. Friendly helpful staff, very clean, air con, great location right in the centre. Not the most sociable place as there isn't a bar etc. But a really good base to go out and explore the city. Would highly recommend!

This hostel is in a good area of town with lots of coffee shops and places to eat. The staff, particularly Rosie made us feel very welcome. She remembered everyone's name and what their plans were for the day and makes things very easy for you as a tourist. Our room was a really good size, clean and comfortable. The bathroom was also clean and the shower was warm. Would recommend staying here

Secluded, yet within walking of all the big landmarks in Saigon. The hosts will give you very valuable information and go above and beyond to make sure you have a pleasant stay. They have laundry service available. Rosie and team are a gem! Highly recommend staying here if you come to Saigon.

We stayed here for 5 nights and had an excellent time. The staff were so welcoming and a small team who recognised us and were happy to talk about anything. Ho chi minh is a great city, and this is a centrally located base to explore the city. Pavements are not the best but it is a walkable to many attractions. Next to multiple cafes for breakfast. Rooms were clean and serviced daily. Only criticism is there was no where to socialise with other travellers, but day trips organised through the hostel provided a chance to interact with others! Lots of travellers around the area too.

The owner was amazing and helpful. You can book all your travel with them. They are very helpful. Dorms are very clean. You are provided with toiletries and towels. There is free water for you to drink. They are flexible with the check inn and check out times but they are mostly full. You can sit in the lobby for as long as you want.

We had a private room which wasn't super nice. Did not have any windows, the bed was lumpy and old and there were a few cockroaches in the bathroom. It wasn't the worst room I've ever stayed in, but certainly could have been better. The service from the front desk and the location are top notch though! I would probably recommend staying in a dorm room instead as the private rooms are not worth the extra cost.

Pretty decent hostel in HCM. We stayed on a private room, it had a TV and good AC, water pressure was great with heating. There was some dust and spider webs which could be cleaned but it didn't bother us too much. Pretty quiet, but close to anywhere you want to walk too - wether the backpackers street, market, restaurants and cafes. The staff were very helpful in arrangements and gave fair prices for tours. I would definitely stay here again.

This hostel was a pleasure to stay at. The couple that run the hostel were super friendly and very competent, offering recommendations and helping us out wherever needed. We booked a trip to the Cu Chi tunnels with them and it was fantastic. The rooms were great, two ensuite bathroom/showers for a 10-person dorm and good air conditioning. Despite the large number of people per room, the room layout made it feel a lot smaller, the curtains on the beds gave additional privacy which we always love. The beds were comfortable and everything was kept very clean, all in all a great experience. Will recommend this to any travellers I meet coming to HCMC :)

I can't recommend the staff enough in this hostel. I left my Kindle in Phú Quốc and they organised between the hotels to have it sent to me all the way back in Ireland! They were so friendly and accommodating and had great recommendations for tours. The hostel itself was really clean, room was made up everyday (stayed in a private room) with fresh towels every day. The bathroom was really spacious also and had a great shower. The location in right in the centre of Ho Chi Minh. Would definitely recommend!

The staff was great! They helped with everything we needed. We booked a transfer, day trips, laundry and they printed our Visas for Cambodia. Very fair prices too! Room of 10 beds had 2 ensuite bathrooms/showers. Free water and AC worked fine.

Very good location in HCM , the service was exceptional . I was welcomed and informed by Rosie who spoke very good English, and seems to be so hardworking and good at what she does. The rooms are clean and pretty basic but decent considering the central location of the hostel (perfect if your on a budget) - Right in the centre of shopping/food/party street / markets - definitely recommend and will expect to come back. Great service and housekeeping , and toilet facilities are good. I really appreciate the efforts of the team 👌🏽

We stayed here for three nights. Anna and her assistant were super friendly and welcoming! We stayed in the private room. The room does have working AC and the shower with hot water. They did provided toiletries. We did have to request for a new bedsheet as there were stains on it and they were fast with replacement and apologized for the inconvenience. They do provide laundry service if needed. They also provided free drinking water in the lobby. The location is very convenient since it is central to all the major attractions. During check in, Anna also provided us with a map of the area. She also gave us routes/easy direction to get to each major attractions as well as different food and coffee locations that she highly recommends. Anna also showed us different tours that the hostel has to offer as well. We booked a trip to the Cu Chi tunnels through them. Anna also helped us book FUTA Company bus tickets to Da Lat which we noticed later that she did charge us 100,000 Dong per ticket more than if we were to book the bus ticket ourselves at the bus station as the actual price does show on the ticket itself. The bus company does offer to free pick up and drop off from and to your hotel/hostel.

Bathrooms were not so good. Not any common place to connect except reception area. Location is perfect. Bed charging points needs good upgrade. No place near bed to place your stuff like water bottle, mobile and such while sleeping. Curtains were not sufficiently enough for little privacy. Lights arrangement in room were irritating if you want to sleep and it's turn on. ACs were not sufficiently cooling the room as room is big and there were 2 ACs only. Can really be opted for better with little more price.

Extremely rude lady at the reception even after I requested for an hour to extend during checkout as I was working in the night. Shows No respect towards the person who tried to be so polite. Beds are super comfortable and centrally located near to Ben Thanh market. Biggest drawback is there is no common area where you can hang out with other backpackers. Charging points in dorm don't work ( loosen up or don't fit well) as I had to struggle a lot and would come to reception in the night for charging. Dorm Room size is little small

This is THE hostel for HCMC. Prices are competitive, service is impeccable, rooms are spotless. Anything you want and need in a hostel located in the centre of all the action in HCMC. The rooms are clean, with daily cleaners and good air-conditioning. If you’re skilled (or just brave), then you can rent a bike here for just about the lowest price in the city. Or, if you’re looking for local tours for some of the more remote destinations, this place has connections with the most trusted guides in HCMC. 11/10, don’t skip out on this place.

Best service I've ever had at a hostel, very helpful and tell you the nearby attractions and top rated food places as soon as you walk in. Let me rent a motorbike right out of the hostel for 5 days and even let me extend the days when i didnt bring it back on time. Offers lots of cheap tours right out of the hostel that they will walk you through. Met a lot of other backpackers in the common area. Free filtered water, very comfortable beds, quiet room and secluded area.
