Frankly this is unequalled in the world of painting. Its magnificence is absolutely breathtaking. You will find the panoramic painting/tableaux on the top floor and it's absolutely mesmerising! Highly recommended!!
Prachtig! Aanrader !
Heel bijzonder.
Excellent museum with good curation and of course, the 19th century painted panorama is very worth seeing.
Amazing artist, amazing museum. Vary of Mesdag’s impressing pictures, collected together and lead to the masterpiece of panorama. Museum provides audio tour which you can listen via QR code in English or Netherlands (the informations about panorama have various other languages). The service there was really helpful and kind. I wholeheartedly recommend to visit this beautiful place!
What an Experience!!. Thank you. The Staffing was so Helpful. And kind !! The Lunch Time Food 🥘. Was Great. Thank you.
Amasing
Very nice museum, well maintained and nice story of it. Also very pretty museum shop. Loved the detail that the toilet doors have also a picture of an art work on it.
Was an amazing museum. Me and my friend stumbled upon to the museum shop, but ended up visiting the actual museum and we are super glad that we decided yo go there
Located in the entral by the cafes &bars dictric, it's walking distance to Masdag museum which named by the painter who created the painting that is the main attraction of the museum. This is an amazing painting to see as it is placed in a circle and the watching point is from the middle of a circle. The watching point is in a wooden doom shape such as you would typically get on the beach and addition of sound, sand and other objects laying on the beach gives impression of actually being on the beach and watching unfolding scen in front of you. It's an immersive expirence such as I never seen anywhere else. The entry is €16 for adult at which point I would suggest to buy a museum card @ €75 which allows entrance to most museums in Netherlands for a year. If you consider visiting more museums, it might calculate to buy this card instead and surly you be thinking to use it to it's fullest. An example: van goth museum is €22, Rijksmuseum (national gallery) @€36 and Amstwrdam museum €18 , it's already €76 which will cover the card. It's just a suggestion on clever shopping around and getting the best of what Netherlands culture has to offer.
geweldig
Had a very pleasant visit to the museum. I honestly hadn’t had much expectations but was quite impressed by the atmosphere and paintings on display there. Especially the big panorama painting. That one honestly blew my mind on how huge it was and how well done it was. The museum in itself is quite small so if you don’t have much time it’s still doable in about 30 to 45 minutes. If you got more time then you can definitely get at least 1 and a half hours worth of experiences from there. Would definitely recommend if you have time.
Nice place to visit. It is the oldest panorama in Europe that was preserved in its original way.
It's pretty cool and detailed, but the price is absolutely outrageous. If you're in the area and have a Museumkaart (meaning entry is free), check it out, otherwise SKIP! €16 just to see a panorama is insane.
Rondleiding door fotograaf Scarlett Hooft Graafland door haar eigen tentoonstelling. Bevlogen, benaderbaar. Veel achtergrondinfo over haar werk. Deze rondleiding had zeer veel toegevoegde waarde. En de expo zelf is prachtig. Daarnaast natuurlijk ook Panorama Mesdag zelf bezocht. Ook absoluut een bezoek waard. Met mooie museumwinkel.
Hemels!
Lovely museum to visit. The Panorama itself is breathtaking and you can easily spend half hour looking at it. Don't forget to pick up the binoculars in the middle or zoom into the detail with your phone!
