Nice place to see. Unfortunately small and visit really takes 15 to 30min. So I you passing by ok, but to make special detour for it - not really. I was expecting little bit more from it. But as I was passing by I was able to score this description ;-)

This place is unique - it's an underground museum containing the burial cluster of Philip II of Macedon. When you go inside, you are transported to another world. The implementation of the museum is amazing - dark lights and a lot of treasures inside. This is place is a must for everyone who likes ancient history.

Beautiful museum. The amount of items recovered from the tomb of Philip II and Alexander IV (father and son of Alexander the Great respectively) is amazing. The displays and explanations give a great sense of the burial rites of the ancient Macedonians.

I don't know all the limitations or costs in terms of preservation, but a bit more light in the exhibition area would be nice. A way to look into at least one of the chambers would be nice too. For the things seen I fellt it was a bit expensive. Be aware that the other sights in the city are free, however currently most of them are closed.

It was a fantastic experience and one of the most impressive museums, which I visited. The museum is built on top of found (not robbed) thumbs. There was not over helming amount of the artifacts. You enter and everything is in darkness except the artifacts. You can go downstairs to see the entrances of the thumbs. It was a bit feeling like in Indiana Jones movies. I would strongly recommend to visit this place.

If you really have free time then hmmm why not? But honestly I'm not sure it's a really worth trying to visit here. Some exhibits were good to see but still... knowing about this place, I don't recommend it to my friends and family, sorry. Currently at 12 euros.

The top archaeological sightseeing in Greece. You cannot miss it!!! Avoid staying in any of the surrounding shops they are just bad tasted tourist traps.

What a magnificent museum with spectacular exhibits...Every bit as exciting as the Tutankhamen exhibition was. The museum is buried inside the actual tumulus and is in semi darkness to emulate the tomb of Phillip of Macedonia .You stand in front of the actual tomb entrance .It was the only not plundered in antiquity. Well worth a visit.Tremendous.

After visiting so many tombs, ruins and monuments they can get a little bit redundant, but this is the first one where a museum was actually built around the tombs. Very authentic with a wonderful selection of uncovered artifacts.

Today we went to Vergina to visit the complex of royal tombs of Philip II. From what I understand they were found intact in the 70's. We went during the week, entrance is 8 euros for adults and free for children. It is dark in the museum, probably to preserve the exhibits, which are lit enough to highlight them. The objects on display are extraordinary and once again emphasize the culture and history of these places. The museum is organized in such a way that the entrances to the tombs are preserved, protected by a transparent plexiglass. As I said, it's dark inside, it takes a few minutes to get used to it, but the richness of the exhibits make you overcome this little discomfort.

Probably the most impressive museum in Greece, definitely the most impressive I have seen ! The museum is built on top the tombs and mimics the original tumulus. You get to walk down to the front of each one, the dark ambiance really incites respect and awe at the monuents. The exceptional content of the burials is displayed near each one. Trully an amazing experience.

A place worth visiting, especially if you are an archeology enthusiast, including amazing treasures from the 3rd century BC that were discovered 45 years ago. All in all, highly recommended, not a long visit of many hours which is great exhaustive, short and interesting
