Authentic wine bar - not serving wine with chips and nuts - cleverly set up with wines from a few and relatively unknown winemakers plus one-page dishes. Few seats and a small bar which means that at peak hours and days a reservation is needed. Excellent service and a bit stingy prices (the bottle at 150% of the cellar shelf price - for me it should be a maximum of 100%). Maybe more choices (I don't remember seeing agiortiko) plus bites that would be combined with each variety would take off the bar (whatever cheese and cold cuts were on the plate didn't match the syrah base blend we drank). Very nice effort though.

Great variety of wines! Very knowledgeable waiter who was kindly course filtered our wine that had some foreign materials possibly from the cork. All wines tasted were of great quality! The risoto with mushroom was of great taste as well! The place is nicely decorated and should you want to learn a bit nore about wines there's a big collection of wine making related books to spend some time if you wish. Highly recommended for food and wine tasting and definitelycoming back again!

Absolutely the best place to learn about local wine. The owner is a great guy and very patiently answered my questions, specifically about Xinomavro - an interesting red from the north of the country that has caught my attention recently.

oinovate is decent wine bar. Relatively good list, but with prices higher than expected (for no reason). The menu included. The food was decent too. The fact that at 12 o'clock the music turned into a type of Greek boudoir, I want to believe that it was accidental.

Indisputably the BEST wine bar in Thessaloniki, I've done the research. While I was in Thessaloniki I visited 8 different wine bars for an upcoming article I'm writing. I had a grading system in place to objectively assess each one. Oinovate scored the highest in all categories. Firstly, this is an actual, real wine bar. It is not a cocktail lounge with a few wines by the glass, it is not a coffee shop with a couple of open wine bottles behind the bar, and it isn't a full on restaurant, it is a wine bar. For me, stemware is the first indication of whether the owners take wine seriously. It may seem trivial but it's this type of attention to detail that makes a huge difference. While Oinovate has stellar every day wine glasses, they also have reserve wine glasses that made me do a literal happy dance. The wine list is extensive. If you are not familiar with Greek wine, and even if you are, there is a chance you may not recognize many wines. This is where Konstantinos, the owner steps in. Konstantinos is nothing short of a Greek wine savant. He is bursting with knowledge and easily went toe to toe with me on every wine on the list. He meticulously selects the wine and has a story to tell for each one. A great conversationalist and wonderful resource. The list has something for everyone. Oinovate has a secret weapon. They have set up a Coravin system (a way to extract a single glass of wine from a bottle and replace it with inert gas so the wine does not spoil) so that everything is offered by the glass at a reasonable price. This was excellent for me because I don't often have the same wine tastes as those I am with and it gave me an opportunity to taste wines by the glass that are cost prohibitive for me when only offered by the bottle. The atmosphere is very nice. Music is not so loud that you cannot hear your friends and most importantly, SMOKING IS NOT ALLOWED! If you spend time in Thessaloniki, you quickly realize that you will need to dry clean every article of clothing after stepping in to most bars and restaurants. The indoor smoking in Thessaloniki is excessive. Because Konstatinos respects his customers and respects wine, smoking is restricted to outside. This is such a huge factor for me especially when I had to leave 2 other "wine bars" because I could not see or smell anything through the smoke. There are meat and cheese plates available and I imagine more food items will be available soon as well. The meats and cheeses are carefully selected and of excellent quality. After visiting 8 other wine bars in Thessaloniki over the course of 4 nights, we always came back to Oinovate. We enjoyed each visit immensely. I 100% recommend Oinovate to any lover of wine. We will be back!

This was a great evening, and even though I was the only attendee for the private wine tasting (run every day... I booked via Airbnb experiences but you can book direct) on a cold Tuesday night, the team made me feel welcome. As I was the only attendee the tasting was done in the main bar which I preferred as the other customers gave the space a nice atmosphere. The wine bar is a great spot and the serves of 8 wines were generous for 24 euro. They are passionate about their all Greek wine and super knowledgeable. Highly recommend.

Konstantinos is brilliant at what he does, and his knowledge of wines, specifically Greek, is outstanding. He made me feel very welcomed in his wine bar, and gave me a very insightful background about where and how his interest in wines started and why he feels it is important for others to know. It’s nice to know that there are still young entrepreneurs that actually care about the art that goes into their line of work instead of worrying about the money. Efcharisto, Konstantinos!
