A must place for fish at Thessaloniki down town. Dishes are amazing, a little bit on the gourmet side, but not something exaggerated. You have the option to eat fresh wild fish from the Aegean seas! Their wine list is good although not huge. It is a bit expensive but it is totally worth it. Last time we speak around 60 without wine for salad and 3 dishes, but this price can go higher with fresh fish. For fresh fish prices are around 50-70 per kilo. If you are in Thessaloniki and want the best, this is your place.

Lovely fish restaurant in the centre of Thessaloniki. We've been here 3 years ago and it was so memorable that we had to go there again the second time we visited. Didn't disappoint. The food is exceptional! Couldn't get enough of it. Special shout to the shrimp pasta and the risotto which we got this time. Simply amazing! 👌

I had been craving seafood my whole visit to Greece and finally got to visit MAREA on my last day. I was not disappointed. Everything was fresh and so well prepared. The oysters went down a treat and I may have to say they’re the best I’ve ever had. THE OCTOPUS!! so juicy and meaty(I don’t know if there’s a seafood equivalent of meaty), the flavouring/seasoning was perfect and I loved the smoked beetroot purée that accompanied it. I would come back just to eat this again. The Orzo dish was the perfect finisher, it was light and the flavours were very refreshing. The lobster/crayfish was juicy, definitely lived up to its star role here. I managed to take my leftovers back home with me and my boyfriend loved it too. A bit of a pricey lunch but no regrets at all, for the quality of the produce I would’ve been happy to pay double. See you soon MAREA!

The first and only professional sea food restaurant I've eaten in Thessaloniki. I was a little weary because of past experiences in the city but they actually know what they're doing. Firstly the service was superb. Secondly, the food was great. We ordered a first dish which turned out to be more satisfying than expected. The second dish was very tasty and we all enjoyed it. I do not regret choosing this place for my birthday. Highly recommended.

Perfect meal and service. The service here is outstanding and professional. The food is of the highest quality and the bread was the best at any restaurant in Thessaloniki with delicious seaweed butter and herb infused olive oil. I ordered the fresh drum fish with vegetables cooked in parchment and it was perfectly seasoned and prepared. Advice: make a reservation and you will not be disappointed!

This Chef knows what he does. I had the squid and sole meunier. Both were perfect. It‘s a little bit expensive but very good.

Best smoked mackerel I’ve ever had! Very impressive. I recommend having a few of the smaller fish portions from the “Marinated” side rather than one fish main item. Friendly staff, very reasonable prices, we’ll be back.

One of The Best restaurants in Greece I would say. Overall experience, food, service, ambiance is what I recommend. 2023. and still the best restaurant in Thessaloniki.

The seafood here is perfect. Perhaps it’s a Greek thing, where they know how to take fresh produce and get the best out of them. The green salad with the crab had a crushed hazelnut crumble, which was so crunchy and amazingly tactile…: The melting goatsheep cheese something was so strong that you could smell the sheep’s odour, The grilled Fish was cooked to perfection, with some olive and seasoning over was the perfect end of the medley Ok! We did not like the Scallops. Perhaps the Hong Kong version cannot be beaten…

Really nice and high class restaurant, with delicious fish. But the best thing of the restaurant was the bread(especially the dark one) and the olive oil they served with the food. I will someday come back and if it is only for the bread.

This is a very good fish restaurant. A more upscale version of Glykanisos offers more complex dishes while also gives the option for whole fishes to be ordered. Highlights for me where the Gkeremezi, the eel and poached egg, the shrimp linguine, the fish ragu paccheri and the chocolate souffle.

I had Greek salad, fried squid, shrimps and mussels. Mussels and shrimp were good. But fried squid had burnt flavour. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The restaurant is bit on the pricier side.

My favorite restaurant that I've visited during my 15 days in Greece (travel holiday on the main land). I loved the fish cuisine and the delicate plating. The staff was so kind and humble. I wish the same passion and kindness was here the standard in The Netherlands. I'll definitely come back to Thessaloniki and to this restaurant.

However we came there when they had light problems, it couldn’t influence my conclusion to this restaurant. Personal that took a care about us, thank you for friendly and lovely atmosphere. Although food was so delicious, that we didn’t want to leave any peace of it. Highly recommended

1. Tiny portions which are definitely not enough to dine and wine. We spent €50 and were absolutely hungry 2. Aren’t wet wipes supposed to be brought before we dine, not after ??? 3. No single amuse bush, no compliment from chef. Feels like I’m in a cafe, not it an haute cuisine restaurant. 4. Is that decent for such class of a restaurant to offer paper “tablecloth” and drag it ? Glasses almost fell down. Well well — some questions to the service. So, left hungry, disappointed and absolute not aware of why is this place fully booked.

Perhaps one of the nicest, of not the nicest, seafood restaurants I've been to. Everything dish we had was a completely new and unique experience while tasting amazing at the same time. The staff was super friendly and treated us wonderfully.

Excellent fish selection, great wine and superb service. Thinking about returning tomorrow and trying the rest of the menu. You can survive on 2 appetizers each. If hungry order the fresh fish and an appetizer.

By far the best sea food restaurant in the city of Thessaloniki. Excellent quality of materials, many options for sea food with a wide range of prices and cooking methods. Authentic Greek flavours at their best, with a very impressive presentation! Really beautiful dishes with big portions! The desserts are also delicious! I believe the only untrue fact about the listing of this restaurant is the price range(this is not a pricy place)! It is a very reasonably priced place for what you get, which is taste, inspiration, ambiance, and EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE. Their measures against the corona virus include even UV light on the table and cutlery!! Very professional approach! We came for a quick lunch and ended up ordering more and more mouthwatering dishes and spend a few hours here! Will be returning here soon!

Great experience. The place is nice and elegant, with a wonderful service and staff, but the food... It is great, prepared with care and well presented, not huge portions with respect to other places but still sufficient. Flavours and the combination of them are great. Not cheap but definitely worth a visit.

This is potentially one of the nicest seafood restaurants I have ever tried since I came to Europe. I would recommend you not to miss the fresh catch of the day and their special carpaccio dish.
