We found this place by accident on our way back to Romania. We basically searched for a place to eat that was en route. The place seemed promising from the start, the vintage seats and table, some grape vines and an orange tree naturally decorated the outside terrace. Inside, the waiter, a guy in its 50s treated us great! We had a salad grown in their back yard which was amazing. We had pork pancetta and beef on some of the best eggplant salad we ever had. The prices were absolutely decent.

Discovered this place by accident on a Sunday evening. Old timey tavern in Thessaloniki. The cook might look like he’s distant, but a very warm and cool person. Music is played through a vinyl player. Delicious food, all prepared by the cook himself. We were very satisfied in the end. I’m not sure why there are people leaving negative reviews. Tip: don’t feed the cats, the cook himself feeds them by the end of the shift. 5/5 from me.

Interesting dishes but nothing superb here. It’s near old Thessaloniki in a picturesque alley under the city’s old walls. Two people in the kitchen and one waiter that makes it difficult to service the place in peak times. Patience is needed to eat here at such times and could be welcomed if the food was spectacular but it wasn’t.

That's one of those places that you would not recommend simply cause you don't want that other people go there.... Please kindly keep it as secret. It's a sweet and small Tavern located in the old city of Thessaloniki. The meals are really good. You should order diffrent ones so you can try out everything. I enjoyed them all, especially the beetroot salad and the liver. You should go to the Tavern by walk. So you can enjoy the view of the surrounding area.

Amazing food! I went there twice during my visit to Thessaloniki back in October 2019. The meatballs were my favorite. If you need one reason to visit Thessaloniki it is just to go here and eat the best Greek food in the world

A gem hidden in the middle of Thessaloniki. Very atmospheric place with nice service. While we were inside, classical Greek music was playing on vinyl records. I ordered Chounkiar Mpegienti, veal with tomato paste and eggplant puree. We also got water and bread, and the final bill was more than satisfactory. I sincerely recommend this charming place.

The best tavern in Ano Poli. Visited on a very calm night which was made even better by the warm stereo and the waiter flipping LPs. The menu is smaller than some taverns but that’s a good thing — every dish we had was great. The beef stew with eggplant is so simple but so good.

Client of the place for more than 10 years. My dog barked twice in two ocasssions when other dogs passed by the street. The manager came out of the kitchen and spoke loudly and impolitely in front of all people that were at the moment in the terrace. He stated that this could not continue. I apologised and immediately took my dog back home and returned to place. 30 mins later on the same style the same person asked us to move to another table. We were a group of 12 persons but 6 had already left a bit earlier. It's alright to explain that a dog's bark may annoy him or others, and it's alright to ask us to move to another table, but in a respectful and polite way. In regards to the food, the dissappointment from the continuous reduction of quality and increased commercial approach is huge. Nowadays, the food has nothing to do with what it was, neither the style, atmosphere or service.

I’d do more stars if I could. I’ve been there with my wife almost a year ago, and both of us have been dreaming of coming back to this place ever since. Great food, service and atmosphere. Ευχαριστώ!

we found a great review of this restaurant on the Conde Nast Traveller website which was written in 2015, and the food is still amazing when we visited last week. its worth the walk or taxi up the hill as the location, food and service was the no 1 restaurant on my 5 day trip in the city

I went there recently, the food was great, but we were overcharged. Our bill contained prices for food that we didn't consume. Check the bill before you pay!!!

A-MAZING. If you come to thessaloniki you just NEED to come to this place. Me and my boyfriend ordered the pork slices (of pork neck) - it was reaally good, and the panchetta - this one was the winner for me. The meat is unbelievably soft, soooo tasty and it comes with smash potatos - and i have to say, it is hard for me to find smashed potatoes that are better than the ones I make, but this one is just another level. We also ordered the grilled feta, but ATENTION people that are sensitive to spicy, because it is reallyy spicy!! for me it was a little bit too spicy. But still everything was so tasty and the service was really good. It was just this girl handling all the tables, and she actually managed super super fine. Vote 10 for everything, definetly recommended.

the food was excellent! one of the best I've had in thessaloniki. the cooked greens were absolutely sensational, complex in their simplicity. and the beet risotto was perfectly textured and flavored. def. five stars. the service however was subpar, unfortunately, presumably because I was alone. that was the feeling I had at least. for this reason I only give four stars, and nonetheless recommend the place.

Super local place. Not easy to find it and once you do- dont be afraid to try. From the first sight -a very simple place but food....it is sooooo good! I really recommend. Simply TOP greek kitchen in the area!

I visited this tavern with a local on my first night in Thessaloniki and it did not disappoint. Food was amazing. The outdoor seating was great and the overall experience was very good.

Feeling at home away from home. We had the most amazing authentic and cheap (!!!) dinner in this lovely spot in Ana Poli area. The vibes of the place, the courtesy of the staff and the quality of the food just make it worthy a trip to the city. Getting to eat under the vine enjoying the silence and the good food with a glass of ouzo…. I mean a dream! We will be back for sure! Efaristo!!!

A serene setting amongst the grapes vines. The chef is excellent; he really cares about the produce. The liver is now one of my favourite meals of all time, and the beef with pasta blew my mind. 💜

For local authentic food with a soul, this is a great place in Thessaloniki. I loved ALL dishes we tried and the people are so friendly. Would definitely like to return. Totally recommended.

This is such a great typical greek taverne that serves excellent food at nice prices. The zuchinni salad is delicious, so is the fava. Would highly recommend this place.

Lovely small place to sit down with frienda for dinner or for a drink. Friendly staff, welcoming atmoshpere, tasty food. If I was not taken here by my local friends, I would never decide to stop by because it looks too tiny or invisible, but it IS worth your attention! 👌🏽 Thanks!
