⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ From Switzerland to Macedonia Palace Hotel 🇨🇭🇬🇷 The Makedonia Palace Hotel consistently proves to be extremely accommodating on every visit, even when there's no prior reservation, and this is the case even on challenging days. Its location in close proximity to the airport is highly convenient. The underground parking is overseen by an always attentive valet service, available for guests at all times. The hotel's rooms are of the highest quality and offer a breathtaking view. The entire experience reflects exceptional professionalism and hospitality, making the Makedonia Palace Hotel an excellent choice.

Come for the views, stay for the breakfast buffet! The hotel is right on the promenade but it is a 8-15 min walk to the statue of Alexander and another 3-5 to restaurants. A note of caution the hammam is open to male and female at the same time and swimsuits are required. Room service can be pricey but yummy.

Everything is perfect, a very nice executive room with a sea view, hotel parking, nice people at front desk, But only 4 stars because of breakfast. Very average quality of food, not many local Greek products, no bio/ organic food- not even bio eggs and so so coffee… not comparable to delicious coffee which I had at the same hotel but at the bar.

Renovated relatively recently, this hotel is in a five star location and delivers in all departments. From the excellent staff and service to the superb facilities and amenities (and restaurant!). The hotel is mere steps away from the famous boardwalk along the water (which has a tremendous atmosphere each evening) and a lovely sunset. Discover Thessaloniki from this perfect location!

Either if you are seeing it from outside, staying in or working there, it straight up fires in all cylinders. This hotel is a beautiful luxurious haven with an even more beautiful view, located by the coastline it provides an unparalleled experience for its guests. A huge congratulations to its renovators and polite staff that made it what it is today.

The hotel has an amazing sea view and very good rooms, as well as a nice central location. However, the service isn't of a 5 stars hotel: you need to ask for a coffee from the waiters at breakfast, and sometimes to ask 3 times and to wait for a long time; and the coffee is very mediocre. The water in your room apparently is supplied only for your 1st night, and then they (over)charge you for it as a room service. It's ridiculous, water costs nothing in Greece. The cleaning lady ringed the door even though there was "do not disturb" sign, and when I said not now, she said then she won't clean at all that day. These are not things you expect to experience in an over 200 euro/night 5 star hotel. The Hammam they have inside the hotel is great, although they could be more welcoming. They are extremely inflexible with hours - give you 1 or 2 possible hours the most to book, while the opening hours are very limited in the first place - after 1 pm. The masseuse though was wonderful, her name is Despoina, ask for her. In overall, great rooms, rich breakfast, super-overpriced restaurant, and they don't take care of coffee and water.

We are currently staying in the deluxe suite with the sea view with our three kids. Everything is absolutely fabulous! We are so happy here! The view is spectacular, location of the hotel perfect:) everyone (really, everyone!) is very friendly and attentive. The breakfast is very nice, lot of choice! And the cleanliness is IMMACULATE! Love it! The pool is really great too, only one small minus is, that there are not so many sun-beds and also even though the pool is deep in one end, jumping into it is not allowed (so this is a small complaint from our kids) Bike rental by the hotel is superb as well! All in all; can’t wait for our next visit!

Makedonia Palace is a landmark in thessaloniki. Had been here a few times 7-8 years ago. A lot of renovations had taken place and the place looks very very nice. Great brekfast and great service. Reception outstanding and 5 star service. Greeks will always wellcome you with a smile but here that saying takes a real meaning.

A really good hotel that offer a clean, big rooms. Excellent services. Good breakfast exect to the payments they are required for a cappuccino or omelet that weird. The location is a little bit far away the center. But I would like to fully recommend on that best hotel in Thessaloniki.

stunning hotel overlooking the sea. cozy rooms, comfortable beds. gym, bike rental, swimming pool, parking. You can buy jewelry and get a massage at the hotel. The variety of breakfasts is pleasantly surprising. The wide embankment is ideal for walking. we always stay only in Macedonia.

Amazing suite on top floor! The restaurant’s service is every time of highest quality! Dishes are most delicious, especially if you are a seafood enthusiast! Best profiterole EVER! Definitely in my top 3 best dining choices in Thessaloniki!

super great hotel!! The zimmer was so beautiful and clean. the bed was very comfortable and i slept so well and long. it was very quiet at night. i loved the sea view from the bed. Breakfast is until 11 pm that is nice. the pool was great after a city walk and you get fresh towles all the time. The food at the hotel is very good. The spa is also very beautiful and the massages are top! Its a top hotel!!!

Beautiful hotel with very clean rooms. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the breakfasts were incredible! We liked that it was slightly outside of the downtown area which made it quiet but close enough to walk to the White Tower and shops. Would definitely stay again!

a quite nice Hotel but the rooms facing the main street can be a bit noisy , the double glass insulation doesn’t cut out the noise as it should be. On the service side , waiters in the restaurant somehow keep getting the orders wrong , you order a greek coffe in greek and they. ring a cappuccino , so i look Italian?

  • 2/5 A. S. 1 year ago on Google
The price did not justify the comfort of the room. The third bed was a portable bed, while the price was for a normal bed. An adult cannot be accommodated in a portable bed. A 5-star hotel, with such solutions, is not normal. Not to make a bad advertisement, but in the future I don't think to visit again this hotel. I am sincerely sorry to write in this way.

This is the best hotel in Thessaloniki by a country mile. I have stayed here on 3 separate occasions and it is an oasis of relaxation, elegance and happenings. The pool is fabulous, the restaurant serves excellent food and the rooms are modern, with walk in showers and comfortable beds. It is worth paying extra for a room with a sea view, it is spectacular especially at night. I booked an airport transfer to get here faster and had the nicest time. There are bikes, scooters and quad bikes to rent immediately outside and the location is second to none. If you are a football fan, this is the place to see PAOK FC players and legends gathering on game nights. Top class hospitality and service!

Charging extras €13 for coffee at breakfast !? First time in my life ... It's ridiculous service by 5 star hotel , ha!! There is no tea and coffee self service point at "buffet" breakfast. Only available Orange and grape juice not even water. Not much choice of hot food like only scramble egg and boiled eggs choices. Swimming pool is tiny. Sea view is fantastic, however airplanes fly every 30min. Avoid near the lift rooms as there is a huge gap under the door, can hear the sound of corridor, so noisy. Newly refurbished and looks 5 star hotel with 2 star hotel services. So disappointed.

Very clean and great air conditioning system. One of the best breakfasts for hotels. The best thing was the beds, because of the incredible mattress they had.

  • 5/5 Marie C. 9 months ago on Google
Definitely a 5 star hotel! They made sure both families were on the same floor. Breakfast was top notch! The star of our visit was Zoe in customer relations ( concierge). She helped us with flight issues, found some wonderful trips to accommodate 11-year old twins, and had some wonderful restaurant and shopping suggestions. A 5 star employee for a 5 star hotel! Second visit for us, first visit for family and we will definitely come back again!

Simply one of the best hotels in Greece. Everything is excellent. Some extra features is the pool 🏊‍♂️- nice to take a swim after a hot day in the city. A Hamam in the hotel which is a must try. And last but absolutely not least - one of the best breakfast buffets!

I came here a few months ago on a business trip and had some issues with the service but figured it was just a one-off. This time came with my family and once again the service from the bar to the restaurant to the valet is just not 5 star. It’s 3 at best. I read other complaint about the service and the answer is always the same.. something about European regulation compliance.. is the European Union regulation makes you bring the coffee 20 minutes later? Does it make you bring the coffee cold ? Asking for water 4 times and getting attitude from the server? Harding extra for espresso?? 🤔I can go on and on.. The bottom line is, it’s my last time here, Never again!!!

Elegant spaces and amenities. Right on the coastal pedestrian walkway that takes you all the way to the port, to Aristotelous Square, and practically the city's bustling centre. Spacious rooms, exceptional service, gorgeous ambience. The sea-front rooms can lay claim as the best in the city. Watch the sun drop behind the port, whilst taking in an 180° view of the Thermaic Gulf in front of you. The restaurants are of the highest quality.

I stay here every summer upon arrival and pre departure of my holidays in Greece. Brilliant location and a beautifully renovated hotel. I only have one complaint about the hotel and it’s the fluctuating temperature in the shower. The food is very expensive but great (€20 for boiled greens?!) The service is usually very good except that of my last visit. The room service breakfast didn’t cook the eggs as I asked and they forgot the danish basket. They resend them nicely cooked but I missed eating it together with my wife. On check out, the lady at reception looked up briefly to see I was queuing and after she finished with her task, she invited the guest who arrived after me, to be served. No apologies… My room rate was €20 higher than the one from 3 weeks ago and the explanation was that that booking was for two persons and the cheaper one was for one. I checked the confirmation emails later and they were both for two people. We also decided to have a coffee at the terrace and it was so short staffed that I had to go place my order. My coffee was ok but my wife’s was wrong and the attempt to remake it was unsuccessful. She only had one sip and left it. We paid for everything in full of course and no attempt was made to acknowledge or compensate us. Overall not the best experience for somewhere I previously loved staying.

The hotel is the definition of mediocrity. It is not worth the room prices. The competition is much better. The pool is not open in mid-May. The gym is in very poor condition and some of the outdoor areas too. Breakfast mediocre and without big variety for the 5 star level. The cherry on the cake is that they ask an extra charge for a cappucino and an omelette. They also charge for the water in the room. No justification for the room rates.

5 stars hotel with a poor Steam Iron 🤣. We have been visited quite a few 5 stars hotels around the world for business trips or family holidays and there are some services we find it very absurd in Makedonia Palace 5 starts hotel. 1. Charging fried eggs and other BASIC breakfast stuffs extra cost (5-7euro 🤣🤣) 2. Steam Iron not being equipped in the room. 3. The one they provided us (Steam Iron) is just so poor I can’t even Iron my T-shirt 🤣🤣🤣🤣. We asked them to replace with another one and obviously there are none! and recommended us to use the press service…. Which cost 6 euro for a t-shirt press service 🤣🤣. 4. To be honest, the swimming pool is also quite small and the landscape gardening is below expectations. I think this hotel should be downgraded with 3-4 stars with this poor service and charging the BASIC service with extra costs.. The staffs are all friendly tho. The two stars are all for the staffs!!

All good. The minus is simply for the refridgerator temps inside. Ludicrously cold, bound for headaches. Also the pool opens up only at 10:00 and coffee prices at the pool are a ripoff. Overall very good, well msintained 5*hotel but just another hotel

Beautiful and big room. One thing that I didn't like on the room was the carpet, it was very old and it looks dirty. It had a lot of signs of water or other drinks that has fallen to the carpet and this was looking dirty. That's why I've added 4 stars, all the other things were amazing. Excellent food, the breakfast buffet was delicious.

It is a little further out if one considers the Aristotelous Square the center. The room was comfortable, modern and the breakfast is fresh, some made to order, and delicious. Nonetheless, the concierge service was excellent. I accidentally canceled my returning flight and was helped by Ms. Petroulia who patiently called the local airline as well as sorting out all the logistics associated with my blunder. (My apologies if I misspell your name).

Nice place. Oldfashion hotel. Service amd staff kindley and good. Hotel is clean and well organised. Look from the outside does not promise a lot, but when you enter it really looks glory and expensive. But rooms are not in that maner. Old wood enterire with old brown portals on balcony should look better. Location one of the best.

Great renovation, unique Thessaloniki location with sea view, large modern comfortable rooms, exceptional service (friendly and fast) and probably one of the best breakfast buffet we have ever had in a hotel. Not to be missed: the Hammam Baths in the hotel

We had not been back to Thessaloniki for many years and wanted to make our stay special. How lucky we were to choose this magnificent hotel. It exceeded any expectation that we had. We booked the ‘base-room’ with a sea view. Hotel rooms are rarely bigger than what you expect. At Makedonia Palace the base rooms are huge: unbelievably comfortable, airy, with armchairs, a large cupboard and storage, a safe, and huge bench space, and a luxuriously appointed bathroom with endless piping hot water. However, nothing could have prepared us for the balcony and its view. First of all, this space is utterly private, marble throughout, with a table and chairs, and enjoys the most extraordinary view of the bay and the walkway below. As can be expected of a hotel of this calibre, the sheer enormity of the delicious breakfast selections is truly unbelievable. As for the staff, there was nothing that they wouldn’t do to accommodate us: they went above and beyond in any request, their room service and front desk staff were absolutely amazing. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough.

I don’t have enough good words to describe this hotel. Rooms, service, food drinks everything is a very high quality and never disappoints. My husband and I are staying here for the second time and we will come again for sure. The only small thing is that the iron is necessary to have in the room. They will deliver it to you if you request, but I think it needs to be a must in all rooms.

The greatest view of the city. A true jewel at the most unique spot. This hotel has it all. The service is impeccable, the quality of the food is great and the in house shops are awesome. Only complaint is that the prices of the room service menu items are unreasonably expensive.

Excellent location with view of the sea. Also there is a restaurant with really nice and vfm food. Besides that there is also a really beautiful and cozy coffee place right outside the hotel a few meters from the sea,on the back side, that plays calming house music.

This is an iconic modern building of theasaloniki's waterfront. The location is just immaculate with anything you could possible need around you. The sea breeze and the air smoothly blowing is also an asset. Must take a few deep breaths by the wooden platform and sense the Greek sea breeze while you enhale.

Makedonia Palace is without a doubt one of the most beautiful and eye-catching hotels in Thessaloniki. It enjoys a great location, close to the beach, in the center of the wonderful bay of Thessaloniki and close to a number of famous sites such as the White Tower of Thessaloniki, Alexander the Great Statue, Aristotelous Square and more. Its service is exceptional, its breakfasts are particularly rich, and in general the whole culinary issue is simply great (like Alexander....). Bottom line, a great and highly recommended hotel for everyone who visits this magnificent city... Do not miss sitting on the terrace overlooking the sea, with a spectacular sunset!!

3 or 4 stars services experience stay, paid for 5* hotel services: It was a pleasant stay overall, but this hotel is 5* only in terms of prices: services are just for 4*. Staff is very polite and pleasant, but: 1. Breakfast area seems to be rather small, when is full of capacity (270 rooms, about 600 guests), specially on peak time of breakfast (09.00 -10.00). Specially when are families, situation gets crazy..(tables are very close each other). 2. I was felt very uncomfortable, when during my breakfast menu, I heard 2 employees back side of breakfast buffet (in the open space of cuisine, beside delicatessen area) to fight about their day offs and how they are calculated, or what is their contract that they signed out, with the management. Their superior seems that has to work a lot on this.. 3. Also I felt rather uncomfortable to wake up on morning because the (cleaning) ladies decide to talk and gossip on the corridor, very close to my room. This is not for a 5* stay. Maybe they used to work on "rooms to let". If they have some free time, they could easily go to another space and talk and gossip as much as they want. But I supposed to pay a 5* service hotel, to stay there and relax..

The location and building are very nice, but the service is awful. The workers/waiters remove the food even before you can eat and hurry you out of the room. Would never recommend it to anyone.

The hotel is on the promenade by the sea, with a wonderful view. You can walk to the city center in 5-10 minutes. There is also a parking lot for cars, which is an additional convenience. The rooms are spacious and have a terrace. The hotel is very clean and the staff is very friendly. The restaurant and bar offer a good selection of food and drink. There is an additional exit to the promenade as well as an outdoor pool. Breakfast is nice.
