A nightmare. No sheets, no pillows. Maybe because it was Christmas's day, but however it was a horrible experience. They said there was this sofa bed as we asked to be accommodated three persons, and our fault not to check on the room, but when we got back from town to sleep, it was one of the worst experiences ever. And paid for good place. Beside location, nothing's good with this place. Sorry guys but you must improve

Be ware!!! Do not book this hotel! Worst hotel I ever been to! We took the “best” room in the hotel, the penthouse and we would expect basic accommodation from a hotel. normal beds and AC. When I arrived the front desk was not very pleasant which was odd, when I went up the elevator to my room the room was super hot, I tried turning the AC but it was on heat, when I went to the reception they told me that nothing can be done because the entire hotel is on heat now (April 8th) and I should open the doors and it will cool the room, it did not cool the room, it was boiling hot the entire time! And there was a ton of noise from the street which made it impossible! When we wanted to go to sleep, we just sat down and felt the springs poke through the mattress!!! Horrible beds!!! I went down to the reception and they weren’t even apologetic! They are so used to people complaining that they don’t care! Instead of the hotel just changing mattresses!!! Ridiculous! They said all rooms are like that and they can’t do anything! I requested blankets to try and pad the bed! they finally agreed to bring a pillow top for the bed! We waited close to 40 minutes before they brought it and we had to wait even though we were exhausted!! And then put blankets over the pillow top because of the rough texture (which of course they didn’t even have extra blankets in return to cover ourselves) Another thing was that the curtains didn’t block the light at all so come morning the entire room was lit up! And we couldn’t nap during the day The water pressure was basically nonexistent and took an hour to fill up half a tub! We almost wanted to just checkout and go to another hotel, but we were there with a baby and were too tired to do so!

Horrible place! We came late, so we did not have a chance to switch hotel. Klima was working but barely... After 2 hours it managed to cool the room a bit and then decided to leak spontaneously. We were transferred to another room where klime wasn't leaking water but was making sounds all the time. Staff wasn't helpful at all, expect telling us that it's hot outside and that they can't do anything about it. Not to mention that on booking.com there's a "private parking" on the list of the amenities, but when we arrived they told us thats not a hotel parking but a private one and it costs 15 Euro per day. Stay clear of this hotel!

Good, standard, old hotel at the west end of the popular shopping street of Tsimiski and near the passenger port. The building is 50 years old but well rennovated. It is impossible to unload your luggage at their entrance, as this area is constantly occupied by the same parked cars probably belonging to staff . There is no parking at all and if you have a car you have to park it at paid public parkings nearby and that is IF you find a spot. That will increase the cost of your stay for about 30%. Do not park outside the hotel as the traffic police is writing tickets and removing number plates starting from 6:00 am. There is usually only one person at the reception, which makes check in a very slow process if more than one guest is waiting. Staff is polite and accomodating. The rooms are of medium size, clean, with comfortable beds and pillows. NO COFFEE MAKING FACILITIES. There is a good size balcony but the air at this location is too polluted because of the heavy traffic to stay there for long. The bathroom is small with a shower only. Water pressure is inadequate and the shower head is cheap with no adjustable water jet. Toiletries provided. There is room service with reasonable prices. Conclusion : Good hotel in the medium price range near the city centre, biggest problem is the parking, if you have a car. I would suggest not to pay more than €60 for your room. Recommended

Went there for about a week and for a 3 star hotel it was really nice The breakfast was pretty good but it needs work on the juice and coffee there is room for some improvement The reception was friendly and really helpful when we needed some help to go around the city and to find parking Now for the rooms it's pretty much what you would expect from a 3 star hotel BUT they are always clean the people that clean the room and fast and effective also the rooms are very convenient and have also very nice bathrooms Highly recommended for a family gate away

Very good location, good staff, clean rooms, not luxury but enough and good. If you want to düscover city, just 15-20 min walk will be enough for bars cafees and very good greek restaurants. My second stay and I am happy with this hotel.

We stayed at the Astoria Hotel for two nights (Friday and Saturday night) If you can, don't come in Friday afternoon. We were stuck three blocks away from the hotel for 25 minutes or so - the traffic was so bad. Parking was a bit stressful as well - there is a parking ramp next door but it isn't connected to the hotel. The hotel is located very centrally which is very nice when you are walking to places around the city. However, this also means that you get some noise from the city throughout the night. We did get an upgrade to a bigger and better room, so it was more than enough room for the two of us. We had 3 balconies! I will say that we found some trash in the couch cushions and overall the room was clean - but not impeccably so. The bathroom smelled like cigarettes at some point - not sure where that was coming from, maybe the floor beneath us? Overall, we enjoyed our stay here. If you are visiting Chabad or need Kosher food, it is very convenient!

I did not pay for this so I have no idea how much it costs. Location is 10/10. At the heart of Thessaloniki and near everything you could want to do or see. Staff was great and breakfast is generous, more like the breakfast you'll find in more upscale hotels. Unfortunately the rooms need renovation. Lighting in the rooms was not great and the bathrooms were small and the water was going everywhere, but this is normal for Greece. Most importantly, beds were on the hard side and I did not have a really nice sleep. But as I said, I have no idea how much it costs. It might be reasonable If the price is low

Great location & the rooms are well maintained. Staff is friendly and helpful. They have an arrangement for parking with the parking lot next door. Kosher buffet for breakfast is available alongside the regular options.

At check-in we arrived at 2.30 p.m. Even at 11 a.m. when we asked the receptionist what time we would arrive, the receptionist told us to come at 1 p.m. While we were not given our room cards and kept waiting for hours, we saw that many guests were accepted and went to their rooms, he told us to wait for the rooms. I asked until what time, she didn't tell me the time. This is very strange. They didn't apologize either.

Great location. Walking distance from ferry, close to great restaurants and bars, shopping and the waterfront. A great coffee shop right across the street and a 24 hour convenience store across the street on the side. Friendly reception when we got in late. Room was clean and all furniture seemed new and in good shape. We faced out the front and didn’t have any noise concerns but we did have the a/c running. Two small complaints. The a/c even turned all the way up didn’t get to a comfortable temperature, it was still pretty warm. Also when we first came the room had a sewer smell. Took care of this by closing bathroom door. Good price point for what you get and the location.

Great location in Thessaloniki. Stayed with family for 3 nights in adjoining rooms. Clean rooms, great staff and very attentive when you needed anything. Beds are a bit stiff for our liking. Wish there were a few more amenities in the rooms (safe, iron etc) and a bit more selection at breakfast for younger kids.

Astoria is a very nice hotel. Always clean. The staff always very polite. Big variety for breakfast. The beds were always made, every day. Very very clean inside. And if we needed something they always did their best to help out. I would personally like to thank Stavroula, the receptionist. Always very well spoken and polite. And in general the staff was amazing. I thank you all very much. Definitely coming back.

The hotel has an amazing location averuthing is close the bathroom was clean and well equipped the room was as clean as can be expected for a hotel room and the bed was comfy. The breakfast was limited and the parking wasn't free. It wasn't a mind-blowing experience but it was acceptable and I would recommend it but don't have amazing expectations.

Good hotel located at the heart of Thessaloniki. Good value for money. Just few corners away from busy and very good tavernas and restaurants where locals used to eat

The Astoria is well located and has the benefit of Kosher food if that is what you're looking for. The rooms however, are dingy and dark (very poor lighting), and haven't been updated in decades. The bed is uncomfortable, we even had one evening with no water in the room. On the positive side the staff was friendly and helpful. Two waitresses who were especially amazing were Savoula and costadina.

Nice hotel, perfectly located for visiting Thessaloniki. Room and breakfast are excellent. Minor drawbacks are the tiny bathroom and the traffic noise from early morning.

  • 2/5 Gluten Free A. 2 years ago on Google
Its location is very good as it is very close to the city center and the restaurants and bars area. Nevertheless, the room was not comfortable. The mattress seemed to be really old and the corridors where a bit smelly at lunch and dinner time.

Hotel is mediocre at best, breakfast was awful, eggs(pretty sure it was eggs, not the juice) made me sick that day,but it would all be alright, except the guy at the reception was extremely unpleasant and incapable of helping out with easiest of requests, like wi-fi troubles

The Staff throughout the Hotel were extremely Helpful, very pleasant, and the Concierge very knowledgeable. The entire hotel was clean, fresh smelling, the kitchen clean with well prepared buffet breakfast. Also the taxi service was always available whenever we asked. Walking distance to everything!! We will always come here when we travel to Thessaloniki.

Polite and very helpful staff, ready to help you. The Hotel is located in the center of the city, so you don't need to use your own transport. Cozy, nice room, large bed with comfortable mattress. Free WiFi with good coverage. Good overall price for provided services. Paid parking nearby, but not included in the room's price.
