This is an absolute must in Thessaloniki. Probably one of the best bougatsa in the city. Crème, cheese or minced meat bougatsa are all incredible. I also recommend the ham choufle. The service is really good and also the atmosphere is good. Definetely recommended!

One of the nicest bougatsas in town run by a lovely lady serving up some serious eats. The classic bougatsa was fresh out of the oven with a rich and warm custard. The filo was super crisp and paired with sugar and cinnamon this was definitely one of the best I've had. The spinach bougatsa was equally light and delicious for a savoury option. At 2.20 each, this makes for a really filling, tasty and relatively cheap breakfast.

Arrived at 8 am to savor their Bougatsa—friendly service, efficient, and top-notch quality. Clearly distinct from the hotel's breakfast version! 😆 Opted for the sweet one with cinnamon and powdered sugar—a delightful choice! Today is really a windy day 💨💨💨

One of the top quality filo pastry in Thessaloniki city. Filo pastry, especially the sweet version with cream belongs to the gastronomic specialities of Greece. It's origins come from Asia Minor.

This so far is the best place to eat bougatsa in downtown Thessaloniki. Their Tiropita was also legit. This place was suggested to me last year as the best place to get bougatsa and surely I was not disappointed. The thing is that for me it's become quite difficult to find the good stuff in Thessaloniki like I used to 15-20 years when almost every corner had a solid bougatsa shop. Long gone are those days.. I'm glad that places like Giannis still exist and we can get good quality because other places serve inferior stuff..

Bougatsa Giannis in Thessaloniki is a culinary delight! Renowned for its flaky pastry and delicious fillings, it's a local treasure. The perfect spot to savor authentic bougatsa, capturing the essence of Thessaloniki's culinary heritage.

My first time trying bougatsa so I’ve got no comparisons to make, but thought that the sweet bougatsa I got tasted delicious. Paid €2.20 for a portion. No queue when I was there around noon on a Saturday.

Definitely must try! This is the best bougatsa I had while visiting Greece. The feta/cheese combination is a breakfast you should not miss!

The best bougatsa in Thessaloniki. The man was super friendly too. Try to combine savoury and sweet ones. My fave was sweet bougatsa although I tried bougatsa with spinach too.

Best Bougatsa so far!!! My friend and I tried a few different Bougatsa, with cream, cheese, ham and cheese, chocolate and cream. All of them were very delicious. The filo pastry freshly made so I could easily tell the different with what I had before. Highly recommended if you like to try authentic Greek 😋

Delicious and much better than expected. It's a bit like french toast but with more cream and more crispy.

Pretty nice bougatsa. We tried the sweet one, the one with spinach (tasty) and the one with meat. The latter was served with yoghurt on top, as we were suggested to do so - pretty delicious idea it was! Oregano on top! The only reason I did not give five stars is because I have had better ones already, especially the sweet one! Could have been more crispy. I would definitely come back.

Definitely worth trying! It’s tasty, it’s not heavy, it’s delicious! The cream bougatsa and a the Philadelphia cheese are highly recommended!

A small and cosy bakery with delicious bougatsa(custard, cheese, spinach...). Quite similar to Serbian burek.

Amazing little shop to grab a pastry to go or to sit there. I had the mpougatsa which was recommended in other reviews and it was incredible. We got lucky as there was quite a big queue right after we got our pastries, so you can expect to wait a bit in line, but well worth it!

Bougatsa giannis is a pit stop if you are visiting thesaloniki or if you are a local. It's an old place quite famous one, that had really good bougatsa!

Good bougatsa, I liked the one with feta more than the sweet one. Good value for money.

Great place to try bougatsa. We tried two - one with vanilla cream and one with meat, and they were both super tasty! Definitely recommended! 😋👌

MIGHT BE THE BEST BOUGATZA IN TGE CITY. We took the recommendations for this place from a local driver, abd went for the last dessert in the city. Right away there was some line, and once they realized we are eating there and not in hurry, told us to wait for fresh one from the oven. And it was GREAT. On point, delightful dessert made exactly like it was meant to be. In general they know what they are baking and how to do it good, so its recommended to try.

Typical sweet or salty pastries. Ideal to have an original breakfast or to eat after party. The sweet one with Nutella it's really sweet, better to share if you take the whole portion. Recommended to go there and try it at least once, the staff are also really nice :)

The greatest bougatsa in the whole city. A must go for everyone. There were a great selection of familiar but also new and exciting fillings. We went for the minced beef with yogurt one and would go for it again and again.

Amazing Bougatsa, one of the best. Crunchy and very tasteful creme inside. Try the traditional one with creme, powdered sugar and cinnamon on top!

If you’re looking for the tastiest “Bougatsa” in town, this is the place!

Cute, authentic small place serving the Best bougatsa in town! Nutella and cream was my favourite, but salty ones are also good. This is a hidden gem of town and all the locals know it very well. Good stop to make especially early in the morning on the way home after night out

One of the best places for bougatsa in town. A bit expensive and gets crowded at early morning hours. Small place inside not something special. Personnel is friendly and helpful.

We went there thanks to a food guide and how Amazing it was. Best bougatsa in town. If you Come to thessaloniki you must try these !

  • 4/5 Sophia E. F. 2 years ago on Google
Excellent bougatsa in Thessaloniki. But like in previous comments I do think the fillo could be crispier! I tried the spinach, feta, cream, and meat. All were delicious but the only one I wouldn’t get again is the spinach. Great place to visit in the nea paralia / lefko pyrgo area. Follow me on ig @sophiaeaaats for more recs!

On of the most known bougatsa places in Thessaloniki. The sweet one with nutella on top is on of the highlight among the youngest. I personally prefer the classic half and half (half savory with cheese and half sweet with cream). To tell you the truth its not my best choice but for sure one of the top ones.
