We recently had the pleasure of staying at the Grand Hotel Palace in Thessaloniki, Greece, and it truly lives up to its reputation as a great 5-star hotel. It offers stunning views of the Thermaic Gulf (not from all rooms), making it one of the top choices for accommodation in the city. From the moment we stepped into the hotel, we were greeted with an elegant and majestic atmosphere. The style and décor exuded luxury and sophistication, instantly making us feel pampered. Our room was incredibly spacious and well-appointed, featuring comfortable beds and top-notch amenities. We were lucky to have a large double suite with a generous balcony, which provided us with a perfect spot to relax during our stay. The staff at the hotel were absolutely fantastic. They were warm, polite, and attentive to our every need. The concierge, in particular, went above and beyond to ensure that our requests were fulfilled, making us feel truly taken care of. We had a great time enjoying the on-site bar, gym, and pool facilities. The pool, however, did tend to get a bit busy with children at times. The breakfast buffet was a true highlight, offering a wide assortment of high-quality food and delicious Greek specialties. It was the perfect way to start our day and fuel up for our adventures. While the hotel itself is exceptional, I must mention that its location is not ideal if you wish to explore outside of the premises. However, they provide a convenient shuttle service, and taking a short taxi ride to Thessaloniki's central area is always an option. In fact, we decided to try a highly-rated restaurant in the local neighborhood, which was excellent. Although walking there wasn't the most pleasant experience, we opted for a taxi on our way back to the hotel. On a positive note, there is an ALDI supermarket conveniently located just a 5-minute walk from the hotel, which proved to be quite handy during our stay. All in all, the Grand Hotel Palace is truly a great hotel. If you're looking for a luxurious experience and don't mind relying on transportation like taxis or the free shuttle to explore downtown Thessaloniki, then this is the perfect place for you. Whether you choose to stay on-site and indulge in the hotel's offerings or venture out to discover the city, you're in for a memorable stay.

Decent hotel but not a 5 star. The rooms are large enough but feel standard. Minibar was almost empty and no complimentary water was provided in the rooms. Toiletries consist of some large bottles of Apivita soap, conditioner, body lotion and shampoo - but for a 5 star hotel, I would expect a more consistent set of toiletries like comb, toothbrush etc. Breakfast had a good variety of products, but some were of poor quality (basic supermarket type), like the cheeses and cold cuts.

Rooms are nice. No true Shuttle Service as advertised. Just a taxi that goes 2 times a day. Health club looks like a YMCA pool from the 50s. Location is awful cab is necessary to get to the city safely. Safe underground parking is an additional 10eur per night. Overall not Worth it. False advertising. Feels like a scam. I asked about why they say parking is free on the website and was told I should have read the fine print. Not even 3 star experience.

PROFESSIONAL! Great service! Truly 5 star! I visited many 5 star hotels in Thessaloniki but this one is truly up to par. They know how to treat their guests and their level of professionalism is really on point! I was super satisfied and will definitely be back! Thank you!

Exceptional experience! Impeccable service, luxurious accommodations, and attention to every detail. The staff goes above and beyond to make your stay memorable. From the top-notch amenities to the great and warm vibe of the place, it's the epitome of comfort. I highly recommend this hotel for an indulgent and unforgettable stay."

Definitely lives up to it's 4 star (A class) rating with no problem. The rooms are clean and elegant, appointed with beautiful marble tile and comfortable area rugs. Beds are soft and pillows of varying firmness are provided as options. Storage space in the cabinet is adequate and rooms.include a safety vault for passports, documents and money. The bathroom boasts a walkin shower with three nozzle types and a slanted tile sink. Pool, sauna and exercise room below. Housekeeping services available daily. I recommend you ask for a room on the opposite side of the railroad tracks, as on one morning the train served as an unplanned alarm clock... Absolute best meals at a hotel I've had in the whole of Greece. Would pay 20 EUR at a restaurant for what they provide on the buffet.

Rooms with defects such as: door to the toilet not closing or humidity on the ceiling. Pool is a joke, a well in an underground parking that makes you claustrophobic. Gym lacks a lot of stuff. Restaurant is expensive for what it is, even drinks at the bar. There is a permanent sulfur smell from the port nearby as the location is the worst in town. And I could go on.

✅️We got free upgrade from a double room to deluxe. ✅️The room was clean, nice sheets, modern looking. ✅️Climate control was working very good. ✅️Big TV LED. ✅️Confortable bed. ✅️Breakfast was amazing. A lot to choose from. Diversified and tasty. I think it's the best breakfast we had in Greece. ❌️There is a constant noise of the airvents or the outside airflow sistem which you will hear all night. ❕️During the day, the zone is pretty safe, but at night, it turns a bit creepy. If you walk to promenade, make sure you take taxi after 21:00-22:00 PM. This is just a info. Nothing related to Hotel. ❕️The hotel has a SPA, but i didnt visited.

Great place for a short stay. Lovely breakfast. Deluxe rooms are good. Swimming pool is tiny and is there only to tick the boxes for a 5star hotel

It was a very beautiful hotel , I personally stayed with my school on the first floor of the hotel , it wasn’t very good most of the bathrooms where small and some kids had to sleep on portable beds, the beds aren’t A problem but for the price we payed .. the food wasn’t very good I personally didn’t like it but others loved it , the breakfast was okay over all I give it 3 stars even tho I will not be staying at the hotel again cause it wasn’t as good as they say. Lots of children had problems with the Room cards the hotel gave them. Moreover the security guard was really mean for no good reason. A friend of mine had also a smell problem because the Room had a really bad smell. Also the fridges were really small and didn’t fit anything. Some of the rooms had a horrible view

A very nice hotel which is situated in an industrial zone in the west of Thessaloniki. Rooms are quite small, but comfortable The only real downside is the fact that there are no power sockets which can be used to charge a cellphone. You have to unplug the desklight to have a power socket. Breakfast is good and quite rich

It was our first stop on our trip to Greece and only of one night. Everything was wonderful, the deluxe rooms that we booked had plenty of space and all the necessary amenities. They were also very clean. The buffet breakfast was huge with a big selection of everything you could eat for breakfast. The staff were very polite and accommodating. Thank you for the hospitality.

The location is not a safe part of town. Beautiful hotel, and attentive staff. Food service area can get crowded, but they will take care of you. Food was a good mixture of on-the-healthy-side buffet with small dessert portions. Also, they have air, but not air-conditioning. Prepare to sweat at night if you are accustomed to cool sleeping. Overall, a good stay, since we had a tour bus drop us and pick us up each time we went anywhere. Don't plan on walking to food or shopping, especially after dark.

Excellent hotel, the most professional service. Extremely friendly staff always ready to make your stay an unforgettable one.. Dishes are exceptional and the same goes for drinks. Rooms are quite comfortable with fridge, air conditioning, hairdryer and TV. Located outside the centre, it offers bus service to and back from downtown. Conference hall, restaurant and bar are also available. Perfect hotel while in Thessaloniki either on business or vacation.Highly recommended.

Sufficient Parkin space, neat lobby and professional staff. However, the beds were very firm, rooms were not sound insulated, the airconditioning in the room made quite some noise. Also, the pool was far below a 5-star standard. If you hesitate between booking this hotel or Elektra (like I did), I’d say pay a little more and go for Elektra.

Everywhere is Clean and quality. I want to say for stuffs. They are very kind and friendly. The pool and sauna activities are not active now because of Corona. I recommend this hotel. The price is normal not expensive according to facilities.

Recently stayed with my spouse for two nights after our wedding. The attention to detail in the decor was exquisite, creating an atmosphere that perfectly blended elegance and warmth. The space was tastefully designed and very luxurious. Every element, from the lighting to the furnishings, contributed to the overall ambiance of romance and celebration.

Great breakfast, friendly staff, very clean facilities, luxurious rooms. An asset to the hotel is the free taxi twice a day. According to my point of view, I would have preferred to stay closer to the center. Besides this, the hotel can be described as impeccable!

Stayed here for a couple of days. Overall, my experience has been positive. Not the best location, as it’s far from the downtown (city center) area, which is more attractive, but the facilities are okay-ish. The overall service is great. The breakfast was superior.

Great stay, excellence service and definitely a memorable summer place. Just one take on the stay. The staff are wearing pants and unfit clothing for the hot weather. Unbelievable! I thought for a while that I'm outside EU seeing such scene.

I cant understand why so many good reviews I booked a more expensive room in 6th floor. First you have to wait a lot to have the elevator for you I was waiting 15 minutes. Second the room so small for so expensive rate near 150 euro per night. And so loud couldn't sleep all night due to extreme heavy noise from the bathroom that the absorber doing and you can't turn it off. WiFi not working using my data so I paid 500 euro to have nothing

The hotel is not new, but it is very well preserved and taken care of. We stayed there for one night and they were very kind to provide an extra bed for my 10 years old sun. The room and the bathroom are very clean. The bed is very comfortable. The breakfast was very good and may I say a rich one. The best of all was the orange pie we all enjoyed. Thank you for your hospitality.

Very nice Hotel and service, Location is a bit further out than I preffered, however having a vehicle negates its location especially since the hotel has both underground paid parking and free parking lot next to the hotel. Would definitely look forward to staying here again.

Coming from Spain, with higher standards, this looks like a 3 star hotel with 5 stars. Rooms with tiny bathrooms, all in "classic" decoration that should be called "oldie", and bad views unless you get one to the entrance. Some sewer smells in the bathrooms. The surroundings are really bad: construction sites, prostitutes, junkies, etc, in what it seems to be the worst area of the city. And to be 5 start, the gym is not open 24. The best of the hotel: the service 10/10, the buffet is very good, and the hotel is clean.

Great place to be. Neighborhood is... interesting (if you need car part or repair) :), but you will get perfect breakfast, service and cleanes. I'm in this moment in hotel and I'm happy to be here. Friendly advice to hotel managers from IT expert, add 10% more AP devices, there is lot blind angles and internet is not good for 5* hotel! Thank you for good service. See you in November. 😊

Kind and very helpful staff. large selection of food for breakfast. Large and clean room. Free shuttle to the city although not at all time (hotel is not flexible at all on the time). Minibars not always refilled with free water.

For me the location is the worst thing about this hotel. Located pretty far away from the city center, and not very walkable area, especially at night and for a female traveler. Not many lights on the streets leading up to the hotel. Rooms, at least the one I stayed in, needs full renovation since it is pretty outdated, have a sewer smell in the bathroom and are pretty damaged. The flusher in the toilet wasn't working properly and didn't have enough pressure. The little balcony was a nice touch and very appreciated. Also worth mentioning is that even though it is a two single bed room, the beds are two close to each other.

We stayed with a big group from Indonesia attending conference in Thessaloniki, the staffs are amazingly helpful. I would like to thank Konstandina Tsiranida, from the cleaning room dept esp. helping me to look for lost charger in the room. The breakfast staffs are so helpful as well. Overall top 5 🙏🏻

  • 5/5 Ronald K. 1 year ago on Google
It was a nice hotel. Staff friendly, the rooms are very modern and the breakfast was enjoyable. The biggest issue is the surrounding area. Just take a taxi, which is inexpensive and drive downtown. The restaurants in Thessaloniki are often very inexpensive and offer great food. I need to mention the hotel bar. Professional staff and quite reasonable prices led us to stay there for a late drink. One of the taxi driver told us not to walk back, because the area is not safe. It is hard to see what consequences the European immigration policy has on some towns.

If you want to stay there, don't. The rooms are narrow, and if you want to accommodate more than two people in one room, you will get a folding bed that does not fit a child. Ineligible for five stars hotel. We reacted to the receptionists but only received the answer "what should I do, all the rooms are like that", rude and unpleasant, a disaster. There are cocktails in the bar, but they are outrageously expensive, and they are nothing special. The breakfast is average, nothing special. The pool is small, shallow and narrow, the deepest part is 1.1 meters, one big bathtub. Lobby is nice, the garden is small but nice. Parking is paid even though it should be free. The hotel is located in the outskirts of city and you need a car. So, there is no trace of five stars, maybe three, but that's it.

This place is not a 5 star Hotel. Only thing good about this place is their staff. They were really very good. Spa is a joke. 1 very small indoor pool with no beds and one of the smallest and ugliest sauna i have ever seen in a 5 star hotel. Definitely not worth for the money. and they ask 10 euro extra for closed parking. free one is open and on a gravel sand place next to hotel.

During a business trip, I returned to my room after 18 hours being away, to find the window open, a room temperature of 10 degrees during a very cold night. I complained to the shift manager, he said he was sorry and it was a mistake and he would note it, and told me to be patient until the room got warmer (!!!!). I asked to be relocated to another room, but he was very sorry not to help because there werent any available rooms. AWFUL EXPERIENCE, AWFUL SERVICE on such an important case. NEVER AGAIN this hotel will be chosen.

  • 5/5 Nikos P. 1 year ago on Google
Great place and very good service! In the room there was a desk to sit and work but there weren't enough power outlets to plug the laptop or charge my phone. I had to unplug the nightstand lamp to do so.

A beautiful hotel, which was also decorated beautifully for Christmas when I stayed there. The people working there are real professionals and polite as one would expect from a 5star hotel. I had asked for a double room, but the first room they gave me wasn't a double and they immediately relocated me. I don't know if the room they took me to was the same rating as the first one, but both rooms were good and as roomy as you can expect hotel rooms to be. Breakfast was good with some variety but I was a bit disappointed that the items that should be hot, weren't, and that was just after 7 that breakfast had just begun. The only thing that one has to consider is that the hotel is more than 4km away from the center so one has to use a taxi or a bus. The hotel offers a complimentary taxi ride four times a day to and from the center. If they fix their bus and have it doing hourly rounds from early in the morning until late in the evening, the distance will no longer be a factor in deciding if you want to stay at this hotel

Excelent place! Went there with my family for a night because it was an intermediary stop till Zakynthos for us. To be honest I had lower expectations but the place is great. The service was great with kind and helpful staff, the food was good and they have a free parking place and also some underground spots but paid so you can choose what suits your needs. We also got a room upgrade and we are very thankful for that! The rooms were clean and very nice with a modern style. We liked it so much that we booked again rooms there for the return. We definitely recommend it.

We booked a room at hotel mainly because the add stated:” private parking is possible at a location nearby, reservation not possible”. When we arrived, surprise, there where no spaces available and we were forced to park on the street. Rooms where really nice and beautiful…for the middle of the XX century. Breakfast was average complemented by a undrinkable instant coffee. If this is a 5star hotel, I don’t want to find out how a 3 star looks like….
