10/5 I dont know whats better, customer service or a dishes that they serve. Its a little bit hidden, and not so popular by tourists but it really should be! Its way better than any restaurant in which we’ve been in SKG. If you dont know what do you want to eat, just trust the waiter, he will bring you something from the other world. Highly reccomended for octopus(out favourite), but albo for any other seafood that you want to try. Best in Thessaloniki!

Great place with a very tasty food! Owner was super nice, she asked just what we want to eat, and prepare dishes very quick. Highly recommend for people who like eating local food with locals instead of fancy tourist restaurants. From the time we arrived we were welcome with a smile. It was late in the day so they didn't have all dishes so the owner gave us some recommendations based on the dishes they had. Those were perfect. In summary, they made us feel welcome and the food was delicious and affordable. All in all we left really happy.

Ilion is a small family run Greek restaurant run by Mr Alekos and his mum Neli in West/Central Thessaloniki on the way to Thessaloniki train station. Pros: Service is absolutely astounding! Alekos is so friendly, warm and friendly! His is one of the few restaurants open early enough on a Sunday morning (most restaurants seem to open after 12pm) that he was willing to serve a tasty Greek meal as a Sunday brunch/breakfast. Alekos does truly seem to welcome guests like they returning old friends to his family home. Fantastic! I also enjoy the sheer informality of their restaurant. They seem to operate a Japanese style "omakase" concept, where Alekos asked simply if I was hungry and then "suggested" a tasty, simple yet delicious Sunday brunch of lamb kebabs, french fries, Tsatsiki dressing, Greek salad (tomatoes, onions, cucumber, olive oil, Feta cheese) with a loaf of bread. They even had white Taramousalata available! His restaurant is popular with locals, there was a large group of local men behind who seemed excitedly looking forward to a large tasty plate of grilled pork chops behind grilled by Aleksos' mum! Also the meal offers superb value for money! I had a tasty meal of Greek lamb kebabs, french fries, Greek salad, a loaf of bread, white Taramousalata, a traditional Greek coffee, a bottle of bottled water, all for less than 18 euros! Tasty food, friendly service, and superb value for money! What more do you want! Cons: Few really. It would have been nice to have seen and read a menu when I arrived. WiFi for tourists on holiday is always very handy. Otherwise, that's it! An armenian family is runming the business. A Mother and son. Fantastic people. She brougth me stuffed cabbage which she cooked for their selves. Very good prices, very good people. I ate fresh grilled sardines and greek salad. And drank 125ml ouzo and one bottle of beer vergina. Thessaloniki beer.
