The wait staff is very attentive and kind. We enjoyed a nice meal downstairs hoping for a table on the balcony but it was busy. Our food was delicious and fresh. The salads and grilled cheese were perfectly prepared. I especially enjoyed the bean appetizer. We enjoyed each and every bite. We tried a pork dish and some ground beef grilled to perfection. There were leftovers we enjoyed in the Greek mountains for a picnic on our way to Igoumenitsa the following day! Thank you for a great meal and look forward to trying some other items from the menu next time we come through Thessaloniki

Delicious food. Wide selection of dishes especially chicken options. Everything well cooked, unique tastes. Friendly and polite waiters, willing to serve you. Relatively quick service. Warm atmosphere, nice decoration, large space. Good views, Thermaikos sea. Highly recommended it.

Halaro is a longstanding restaurant in Thessaloniki that always delivers. The restaurant is well decorated and quite stylish, and the staff is very helpful and attentive. The service was fast and quite efficient. The food also was very nice. Everything that we tried was tasty and the portions were quite generous. I tried the stuffed chicken roll with gnocchi and gravy and was delicious. Also, their wine selection was very nice. Definitely recommend and will visit again in the future.

It's been 10 years since i visited Halaro. Yet it was as i remembered, if not even better! The food is really good and the environment is great, especially from the 1st floor that there is a nice view as well. The prices are cheap compared to the quality and the presentation. Can't wait to go again!

Great place and definetely it is value for money. Prices are really good and portions are also great! Also it goes beyond a traditional tavern and there is also a more modern touch to all the dishes! Overall it is a great place and I definetely recommend it. For sure you will like it.

Along the shores of Karabournaki lye two identical but different restaurants named Χάλαρο. The same because they're under the same ownership and they have the same menus. Different because of their atmosphere. It is wiser to have a reservation before going there because it's usually packed. It's a place were we can go with a suit or with jeans and a shirt. I would stick to their specialties which is chicken. Prices are reasonable too high for Greece, but you pay both for the food and the atmosphere. Parking is a bit tough, depending on the hours, and if you want to bring kids, they will be a little bored, there's no room for them to play. Highly suggested visit and we will definitely be going there again!

A classic at the East-end of Thessaloniki. Very nice atmosphere, excellent service and the food a bit more gourmet than necessary in my humble opinion. I preferred the simple versions of their classics and the Greek salad had a scotch egg in it? But anyway it’s a good experience and very good food.

Wow, delicious food. Above average Greek standard. What a quality! Absolutely recommended. We couldn't believe the price, so cheap for such an amazing quality. Big Bravo!

We received first dishes, zucchini sticks with tzatziki that was very good and a version of green leaves with chicken nuggets that was also good ( I think) we hardly start eating and the main dishes arrived. We put aside the first dishes and started to eat the steaks so they will not be cold. If I want fast food I will go to Macdonald’s. Half of the food was left on the table uneaten.

May be a "cliche" choice in town after all this years in business but it still remains a default choice when looking for good and high quality food. All plates are cooked perfectly with some nice "gourmet" touches that makes everyone happy. Even the difficult ones. After many years I revisited Halaro (this time no2) and the place is great, clean and with the same high quality as I remember.

A good place to take your lunch or dinner. The only problem is the waiting time (we waited one and a half hour from the time we sat down until the first dish came). Their strong point is the food and of course the staff who are always willing to serve you! Finally parking is not a problem for this area so you can easily find a parking spot near the restaurant.

The gold standard of fine dining in Thessaloniki. Expertly cooked food with very generous portions, impeccable service and a nice, relaxed ambience. The prices while not cheap are certainly worth it, given the outstanding experience. Highly recommended.

JUST INCREDIBLE. The food was AMAZING an the service even better . The stuff was very nice and the aesthetic was amazing. The portions where very large and the prices real good . I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to enjoy a great meal with great atmosphere.

Very nice restaurant, great wine list. Hats off to our server, who was spot on with his recommendations. The wine we selected was not available, so he suggested Amethystos Cava which was perfect. He made sure the spacing of the dishes was to our liking, explained what each dish contained as it was served and made sure our ribeye was just as we wanted. He was helpful, efficient but never in the way. Everything we tried we loved - the beef carpaccio, the caramelized onion tart, the Roquefort salad and of course the ribeye with truffle mashed potatoes! Lovely evening.

Nice place, way too expensive for the quality of the food, but portions are good, and the food is Ok. A 3.5 star experience. Would not go again, but it was nice while there :)

The food in this restaurant is very good. The menu is not very big, and the dishes are a mix of old recipes (from the old, well known Halaro that mostly cooked chicken) and new more fusion cuisine. The prices are relatively high, but very worthwhile. The service is quick and very professional. The only negative but understandable feature is that it's mostly too crowded. Don't even think to try to eat there on a weekend without having reserved a table. The restaurant doesn't give free dessert, but the desserts you can order are very tasty, especially the ice cream profiteroles. An important observation : the Wiener Schnitzel I had here was better than the supposed best Schnitzel I tried in Vienna.

Great service. Nice decor. Food quite good especially the meat dishes. They use extra large plates a bit unpractical. Prices towards the expensive side.
