Having
enjoyed
staying
at
Turtle
Bay
before,
I
knew
what
to
expect
-
I
thought.
Since
Covid
the
hotel
taken
any
business
it
could
and
is
now
predominantly
used
by
young
Nairobi
locals
and
business
guests.
Both
of
these
groups
seem
unable
to
consider
that
there
are
other
guests.
Phones
are
ubiquitous,
usually
playing
music,
so
half
a
dozen
people
equals
half
a
dozen
different
tinny
hip
hop
tunes
ringing
out,
even
on
the
beach
area
during
the
day.
Several
groups
had
loud
speakers
which
they
took
to
the
resaurant
areas,
verandah
and
designated
'quiet
pool'.
The
management
tried
half-heartedly
to
reduce
the
volume
but
gave
up
fairly
quickly.
The
general
manager's
comment
of
'They're
not
usually
here
for
long'
didn't
really
help.
Note:
Unless
you
are
alover
of
hip-hop,
this
makes
the
rooms
overlooking
the
quiet
pool
unpleasant
now.
The
adjacent
hotel
Media
Palms
has
now
opened
for
business
and
has
irregular
and
un-notified
discos
that
are
extordinarily
loud
and
carry
on
until
past
midnight
-
this
makes
the
sea
front
rooms
unuseable
even
with
ear
plugs.
Again,
the
management
were
not
concerned
or
particularly
interested.
Sadly
a
very
unpleasant
stay
and
I've
cancelled
my
future
stay
despite
loss
of
deposit.
