An
underutilized
attraction
right
on
the
border
between
Kiambu
and
Machakos
counties
in
Kilimambogo
area....
I
say
underutilized
because
the
potential
of
this
magnificent
resource
on
Athi
River
(one
of
Kenya's
biggest
rivers)
is
huge...
I
was
indeed
surprised
that
there
are
not
many
visitors
to
the
14
falls
despite
it's
beauty,
and
fairly
accessible
location....it's
just
about
20
kilometers
from
Thika
Town...
Okay,
you
can
still
enjoy
a
variety
of
activities
from
just
sitting
there
on
the
'shores'
of
the
River,
admiring
the
beauty
that
the
falls
serve
as
water
drops
downwards
while
making
a
mix
of
sounds
that
can
sound
therapeutic
to
rock
climbing
and
riding
a
boat
across
the
river
and
to
fishing
(once
you
move
to
the
other
side)
so
yes,
it's
worth
a
visit.
It
can
also
be
a
scenic
location
if
you're
into
content
production
(even
music
videos
shooting).
And
there
are
guides
too..and
divers
(pay
to
watch
them
dive)
and
photographers
..none
is
expensive...
But
overall,
I
feel
that
there
is
a
lot
more
that
could
be
offered
here
so
perhaps
the
people
running
it
should
look
into
ideas
like
offering
Kayaking
and
other
water
sports....
Also
a
good
eatery
is
needed.
Then
the
river
is
dirty
upstream...it
appears
it
carries
a
lot
of
rubbish
from
areas
it
passes
through...I
don't
know
why
they
can't
clean
it
once
it
comes
in....
Noted
that
we
paid
Kshs.100
per
person
at
the
gate
..also
for
the
car
you
pay
Kshs.100...for
camera
the
fee
is
Kshs.500..
