Ruigu dam is a great place to be .there is an organization called friends of ruir udam and are putting up an aboretum and that the reason I was there. It's meant to protect the riparian land around the down to prevent erosion. I enjoyed a boat ride and also the marathon organised by the friend of ruigu dam

The dam requires desalting due to the errossion from the upper end. Slowly its deminishing and couple of years the water capacity will reduce by 25% also the fishing should be abolished as clandestine prayers go on in the deep dam ......very sad indeed....
