    I went here to try to manage my high blood pressure because I felt like I was going to pop. That was last year. The "doctor" told me to stop eating salt and that she wouldn't prescribe any medications. Salt makes almost no difference to my blood pressure, but they don't want to hear it. You're wasting your money trying to use a Federally Qualified Community Health Center to save money, but you're better off going to see a private practice doctor instead. I ended up suffering through high blood pressure for months while doing my research to choose a different doctor to see, and I'm now a patient at Vista Physicians Group. Dr. Snower at Vista prescribed me medication on my first visit and I started noticing a huge improvement in how I felt and my blood pressure by the third day. The Health Department doctors seem to like whatever propaganda has gone into style in the medical community, because I'm not the only patient I know who has been subjected to what's should be considered malpractice ("Oh you probably won't have a stroke.....today!" is their basic attitude at the LCHD). I say that my opinion is the Health Department is bordering on malpractice because malpractice is generally defined as not giving patients the current accepted minimum standard of care. So, in my opinion, this fits the description. Most of the staff are extremely condescending and have the bedside manner of a tarantula.

    We have had multiple problems ever since we started coming here, the communication between the staff and people answering the phones is awful! One of their doctors suggested (one) test for my fiancé and when we received results the doctor told us he didn’t know what else to do. My two year old son also goes to this clinic as well, when I called to schedule his first dentist appointment they called me the morning of saying they would need to reschedule me at another location since the provider called in sick that day, I agreed to go to the Highland Park location that day and was actually scheduled in Zion by the rep that called me. I was sent to the wrong location & when requested to speak with a manager they were not available. My son was just recently put on medication which I was never told the correct dosage to give until I called in with other questions. I explained that he really wasn’t doing well and I was expected to wait 4 days just for a callback. (In the meantime I stopped his medication) & when called back I was told I was ‘giving them a hard time’. I further explained I just had real concerns for my son. This place needs new staff on the phones to schedule correct appointments and provide accurate information. Highly disappointed!

    Since when do you guys have the authority to change people’s appointments without permission? That’s why patients tell you what days and times work for them because we have jobs to do. I have an appointment for Friday that I made weeks in advance for 245 and now I’m sent a confirmation email WEEKS LATER with another time... that’s not how it works guys. And you avoiding my calls isn’t helping. Get it together.

    Worst clinic EVER! They do not care about the adult patients nor the children patients! I faxed over paperwork to them on Saturday, December 3rd and I called them today, (December 8th) to ask why they haven’t transferred over my medical records and they said because they never received the fax?? I have a copy that I sent it to the correct fax number. The lady on the phone was very rude to me! I do not recommend you to see any of the doctors at this clinic!

    Trying to get a hold of somebody is almost impossible.. you either need an hour to sit on the phone and hold and wait or you can press one and I’ll save your spot in the queue and then they don’t call you back at all or they call you back like five hours later. They have multiple times switched their hours of when they’re open. For anybody that works 9 to 5 before work and after work the office is closed.. so for anybody that works not only can you not call to make an appointment but if you do get through and they try to call you back you’re at work you can’t answer the phone.. it’s absolutely ridiculous that you have this healthcare plan but you can’t even use it because you can’t make an appointment.. I have to take a day off of work just to make an appointment to see a doctor…

    Date is September 15 / called for an appointment took 2 weeks to get a appointment then when I showed up waited to tell me after the appointment that they dont accept insurance anymore and only adults without medical insurance is accepted. Then tried arguing to me that it's my responsibility to let myself know if they are accepting insurance when the lady setting up my appointment failed to let me know.

    Worst customer service ever have an insurance there and I’m asking what day can I book and appointment and I told them to take my number instead of them doing that she gives me this card to the center that’s over an hour away and is telling me she doesn’t know when there’s gonna be open I said that’s fine just can you guys let me know but she didn’t want to do that there was only 3 ppl in there I didn’t need an appointment right then and you can’t schedule online and I tried calling voicemail like how are we supposed to get help when the people working don’t want to help u all she had to say was we’re booked this week I can put u on the list and I just came back from cvs they sent me here so you can only imagine my frustration but it was very unprofessional and very unhelpful I just needed to know what days I can come in since you don’t have a actual website and you guys don’t pick up the phone and the lady I spoke to had black hair and glasses she should not have a job and I was being discrete about what I was there for and she was blurting out all my business just so rude and unprofessional

    This place and the entire operation of the Lake County Health Department system has to be investigated! Something is going on, people are being denied services and turned away!!! YOU CAN'T DENY SERVICES TO OTHERS, YOU ARE COMMITING A CRIME!!

    Worst place ever, been here since 1pm it’s now 1:27 and these people are literally just standing in there having a meeting talking about birthdays and festivities while all wait to be seen or helped ridiculous!!!

    If I could give this place 0 stars I would!! As many hours as I have waited in this place over the years for care!!! And I'm late once and they want to tell me I have to reschedule when it's already hard enough to get an appointment!!!

    I arrived 10 minutes after my appointment they have a 15 minute late policy. They did not want to accept me. They care more about clocking out than a person’s health, but then on days they are busy they make one wait more than an hour. Appointments aren’t made until 2 months later. For 10 minutes late now I have to wait 2 months.

    Horrible facility. I call to make an appointment and it’s always scheduled till several months ahead. When the date comes around after waiting soo long, they call to cancel your appointment because the provider won’t be there. This has happened 2 times already. Don’t waste your time here.

    I have avoided this place since the pediatrician we were seeing refused to give us a referal for my kid to see a specialist while a baby. The specialist said when we finally got to see him that my kid needed treatment at least 18 months prior and because of the delay ( that the pediatrician said was me "worrying over nothing" and "not a consern yet" ) would extend treatment needed by years. If you love your kids avoid this place cause they do not.

    Rude and don’t give the care they should. Don’t answer their phones. Purposefully put you on hold and ignore you. Hang up on you. Sketchy place. If you REALLY want to stay with the lake county health department go to libertyville off Petersen road. They have four stars and I can vouch they’re great.

    After being admitted into the hospital, the hospital staff called the clinic for my doctors follow up, whoever answered the phone didn’t ask for the patient name but proceeded to state there are no openings!!
