Undoubtedly the temple is one of the best piece of architecture in the world. It has a golden structure which could not be captured because of lighting conditions. But it is worth to see. The temple timings are from 9am to 1pm and from 4pm to 9pm. The lunch timings are huge and applicable all over Kanchipuram. Any temple we visit during this time would not be helpful as we have to just sit idle and wait till 4 for the gate to open. Another important thing is that any kind of cameras or video devices are not allowed inside the temple premises. Also all the shoes and boots need to be kept outside in the provided place. The ambience inside the temple is very good. Its completely peaceful.

Went on a Saturday and was pretty crowded. Took quite some time to see the Goddess. Beautiful Gopurams, corridors and surroundings. Very clean and well maintained. The roads leading to the temple are narrow. Parking is a problem. And entrance to the temple is pretty congested. Famous temple - hence pretty crowded during important dates.

Just perfect place to be in sync with divinity. Plan to visit early in the morning as the temple does get lots of devotees that does lead to rush and no social distancing too in times of COVID-19🦠😷. Explore yourself spiritually it's a must visit temple in my bucket list.

Divine and Magnificent!! If you're planning to visit Kamakshi Temple, then do so. Chances are that you would like it here. A large temple compound around the main deity is located in the middle, you can walk around and even sit in peacefully. However, watch out for the crowd, because mostly there are gonna be long queues to enter the main temple and devotees lining up to seek the darshan/blessing at this holy temple most days of a given week. If you could visit during non-peak hours then perhaps the whole visit would be a lot easier and spend a good amount of time at the temple compound. Do take a closer look at the structure, the big domes, and smaller temples around with different deities. Also, the nice water pond at the back looks quiet and blissful, especially in the dark. We were lucky to come on Wednesday evening with a thin crowd. With the dusk and nicely decorated lighting, the temple was breathtaking!. Likewise, the darshan was quite easy and had a great time walking around and soaking in the divine atmosphere. A nice evening spent at this temple is quite an experience, yet I've one small grievance. The parking is a little messy, and finding a safe and easy spot for your car is a nightmare. But then you can get over it!

One of the famous and ancient architecture in Kanchipuram. The inner environment of the temple is very spacious and peaceful. We could sit around and relax in the temple area.

Beautiful Temple.. never seen any temple in Tamilnadu so neat and clean.. Weekdays not much crowded we can expect more crowds on week ends and auspicious days.. Parking will be a headache especially cars you need to be lucky to find a parking and without proper parking space they will charge you 50rs…

Visited Sri Kamakshi Amman Hindu temple in Kancheepuram, an architectural marvel with impressive infrastructure. A historical landmark in India, the temple was clean and had a great ambiance. However, there's room for improvement in queue management; we waited for over 2 hours with no clear communication about the temple's opening time. Despite this, it was a nice experience.

I recently had the privilege of visiting the Kanchi Kamakshi Temple, and it was an enchanting experience. The temple's stunning architecture and intricate carvings left me in awe. The serene ambiance and the spiritual energy within the temple were truly captivating. The priest's devotion during the rituals was heartwarming. I felt a deep sense of peace and spirituality during my visit. The well-maintained premises and helpful staff added to the overall positive experience. I highly recommend a visit to Kanchi Kamakshi Temple to anyone seeking a spiritual and cultural journey. It's a place of beauty and serenity that will stay with you long after you leave.

Beautiful temple. We had the opportunity to witness the Friday procession of the goddess's utsava vigraham. If you have a chance, go there on a Friday for the procession. Its very crowded on Fridays because its considered auspicious to visit the goddess on a Friday, but the procession is worth it.

Kanchi Kamakshi temple is an emotion. It is one of the 18 (ashtadasha) Shakti peethas... Many times, spoken with similar significance to Madurai Meenakshi and Kashi Vishaalakshi.. We visited the devi temple during a long weekend and on a Friday!!! Nothing to expect other than a huge rush :) However, the queue was very well managed. Though there was a long queue, we managed to finish darshanam in just less than an hour. The devi idol is radiant and resplendant with divine aura. It is an awe inspiring image. There was also a 'theru' (chariot) procession taken out on Friday evening. The utsava moorthy was divinely decorated, complete with the 'moggina jade' (form of jasmine flower decoration). Parking is a problem here. You can park near the main road, near Saravana bhavan or best the South entrance and walk a bit or take an auto. If you take an auto, watch out for the soliciting... Don't listen to them and stay focussed.

Visited on Sunday 24th Dec. Very clean temple. The waiting queue will be a maximum of 45 minutes to 1 hour for darshan. Feels divine inside the temple. Prasadam is also available for all for free. There are places to rest and sit and consume the prasadam. Overall I had a very good experience.

The Kamakshi Temple is an ancient Hindu Temple dedicated to Kamakshi, the ultimate Goddess Lalita Maha Tripura sundari. It is located in the historic city of Kanchipuram, near Chennai, India. The Meenakshi Temple in Madurai, the Akilandeswari temple in Thiruvanaikaval near Tiruchirappalli and this Kamakshi temple are the important centers of worship of Goddess, in the state of Tamil Nadu. The Temple was most probably built by the Pallava kings, whose capital was Kanchipuram. The Image of the main Deity, Kamakshi, is seated in a majestic Padmasana, a yogic posture signifying peace and prosperity, instead of the traditional standing pose. Goddess holds a sugarcane bow and bunch of five flowers in the lower two of her arms and has a pasha (lasso), an ankusha (goad) in her upper two arms. There is also a parrot perched near the flower bunch. There are no other Goddess temples in the city of Kanchipuram, apart from this temple, which is unusual in a traditional city that has hundreds of traditional temples. There are various legends that account for this fact.

The Kamakshi Amman temple is one of the 51 Shakti Peethas, which are sacred shrines built around the falling body parts from the corpse of Goddess Sati from heaven. It is believed the naval part of her body fell at this site, thus making it a holy abode. The Kamakshi Amman temple has been around since times immemorial, going as far back as the 7th century. It was established under the auspice of the revered Indian guru Adi Shankaracharya, whose teachings are followed by the disciples of the Goddess till date. The Pallava kings who ruled the lands in that era probably built the temple, with the Chola and Vijaynagar kings later expanding by adding smaller shrines around the main temple. It is also known by its former names Kanchiampathi, Kanjeevaram, and the nickname "The City of Thousand Temples". Apart from Kamakshi Amman temple Here Main deity Kamakshi (divine form of Parvati Devi) is seated in padmasana posture holding sugarcane bow, bunch of flowers in the lower two of her arms and has a pasha (lasso), an ankusha (goad) in her upper two arms with a parrot sitting on the flowers. The Goddess also has a Chandraperai (a shape of moon like structure) on her forehead. Sri Adi Sankaracharya has installed Srichakram before the main deity which holds the power of Sri Kamakshi Devi. The most interesting fact is there is no other Parvati temple in Kanchi, which is very unusual given that in Tamilnadu you can see a temple at every corner of the street. The temple was built in 6th Century AD by Pallava kings. Timings : 5:30 AM - 12:15 PM, 4:00 PM - 8:15 PM (Friday till 9:30 PM and Pournami day till 10:30 PM) Entry Fee : No entry fee

The temple is very ancient. Built up an Dravidian architecture. The goddess kamakshi is very powerful. There are temple timings and refer Google timings before visiting. During holidays crowd will be there and also won't get 4 wheelers parking easier.

Amazing architecture and environment. Lots of idols to worship here. Important facilities like footwear counter, toilets and handwash/foot wash, drinking water are available. Note: Only Hindus are allowed to enter some areas within the temple. Wear decent clothes and don't use mobile phones/cameras

Kanchipuram is located at a distance of 75 kilometres from the capital city of Tamil Nadu, Chennai. One can hire a taxi/cab to reach the temple from Chennai. Within the city, the shrine is located about a kilometre south of the Kanchipuram Railway Station and Bus Station and is easily accessible via cycle rickshaws, auto rickshaws and city buses. Timings : 5:30 AM - 12:15 PM, 4:00 PM - 8:15 PM (Friday till 9:30 PM and Pournami day till 10:30 PM)

The temple is very well maintained and it gives peace of mind. The pilgrimage is vast in an area with many entries and exists. The sculptures are amazing. Parking is a bit challenging. It's crowded on special occasions and darshan may be late. The goddess is so pleasant to admire. The place has fish inside the pond with a fountain ⛲ and very greeny plants all surrounded around.

Well maintained. Well organized, pristine temple. Parking is along the temple compound and could be difficult due to narrow roads. There is a parking fee of 25 per car and no shade in parking. There is also a footwear stand and a cloak room. Overall a very good experience..!👍👌

This is 2nd shakti peetham, and it is very powerful shakti peetham. Here the gopuram is made of pure gold which is rare and almost unique in the country. Do not miss the view of koneru, the lake within the temple. Preferred to be mindful as the maintenance of people and que lines is not effective and may confuse sometimes.

One of the most famous and powerful Amma known as Kanchi Kamakshi amma in Siva Kanchi, Kanchipuram in Chennai. Sri Kamakshi Amman Temple, Kanchipuram, seamlessly blends spirituality and architecture. The divine ambiance, intricate Dravidian design, and vibrant surroundings make it a must-visit. A cultural and spiritual gem in the heart of historic Kanchipuram.

Very nice place. Temple should allow some special darshan tickets. Right now the security people take some money and leave few people randomly. You can sit and pray in temple as it has big space for sit out besides temple.

✨This temple complex is huge and i loved the systematic way of allowing visitors to the temple. ✨Wel maintained temple complex as well as the building. ✨There is a water tank which is very clean and sprinkler systems added. ✨ Peaceful place to sit and worship, stairs are provided. ✨Make a note the temple closes by 12:30pm and again reopens at 4;00 pm. ✨ Deposit the shoes and footwear in the counter. ✨Next at the entrance of the temple gate you will find flowing water to clean the foot before entering. ✨You can go to main temple in a queue. ✨Even though there were lots of visitors, the standing line was systematic. No kind of rush.

The temple's sanctum sanctorum houses the main deity, Goddess Kamakshi, in a seated posture, radiating grace and compassion. Kanchi Kamakshi Amman Temple is also one of the 18 astadasha shakti peethas. The navel part of Sati's body is believed to have fallen here in Kanchipuram, giving the name Nabhi Peetham. Pilgrims flock to seek the blessings of the goddess, who is believed to fulfill the wishes of her honest devotees. The Kamakshi Amman Temple is known for its religious significance, stunning architecture, and rich history. Kamakshi Devi is graceful as she blesses childless couples with children, converts dumb to poets, and also provides wealth to her honest devotees.
