One of the ancient temple in Chennai. Very powerful and energetic. Only issue is even if it's under HR&CE control. Preference will be given to their community people, they can go in any line and visit quickly. Before God everyone should be treated equally.

After 10 years staying in Chennai, finally I got a chance to visit the Parthasarthy temple. I went to temple on my birthday and I would say I am lucky that I had a fortune to visit such a great temple, on other side I was cursing myself why I waited so long to visit this temple. The one should visit this temple . The temple is very old and if you observe careful we had see lot of details in the temple. The temple is devoted to Lord Krishna but it also had temples of all the avatars of lord Vishnu.. A must visit temple of you ever come to Chennai. Please note photography prohibited in the main temple and please avoid taking pictures of the deity there.

It's one among the 108 Divya Desam. Here Partha sarathi is a main deity, who is along with his grand son also. Vedavalla Thayar is a goddess. Though all other deities came out in pallakku during festivals season, goddess won't come out from the temple. Narasimmar swamy is another god and varadharajar also inside the premises. Once you enter into this temple, you will get blessings from all these god including Andal Nachiyar.

A beautiful beautiful temple. A definite must visit when in Chennai. The great Tamil poet Bharatiyar's house is also right next to the temple. It's also open to the public for visiting. Do check it out. There is car parking available at the front. You will have to pay around 20 bucks one time for it.

Arulmigu Sri Parthasarathy Perumal Temple in Tiruvallikeni is a divine haven that beautifully preserves the rich heritage of Hinduism. The temple's architecture is awe-inspiring, reflecting the intricate craftsmanship of ancient times. The deity, Lord Parthasarathy, exudes a sense of divine presence, creating a deeply spiritual atmosphere. The rituals performed by the dedicated priests add a sacred rhythm to the experience. The temple's historical significance and its role in Chennai's cultural tapestry make it a must-visit, offering a profound connection to both the past and the divine.

Instead of managing crowd in every small temple they made queue. Only if you have Rs.100 you can peacefully workshop god, others will be in 2nd or in 3 row where God won't even visible. You only get chance for 3 seconds and people will urge you to go out

Thiruvallikeni Sri Parthasarathy Temple is one of the 108 Divya Desams of Lord Vishnu. Here, the presiding deity is called Sri Venkata Krishnan and the procession deity is named Sri Parthasarathy. According to one of the legends, Sumathi, one of the kings of South India prayed to Lord Venkateshwara in Tirumala and requested him to give dharshan as Lord Krishna. Lord Venkateshwara fulfilled his wish by providing dharshan with Krishna's own characteristics, paving the way to witness one of Lord Vishnu's unusual iconic poses. The idol is 9 feet tall and you can see the conch (panchajanya) in his right hand and a horse whip slanting down near his left hand. He is not seen with his usual attribute - discus (sudharshana chakra), because Krishna vowed that he would support the Pandavas in the war but would not employ any weapons. Apart from this, the idol also has a moustache, which is very rare to see in the presiding deity. The procession deity Sri Parthasarathy has scars in his face, depicting the wounds caused by involving the war against Bhishma during the Mahabharat. The sanctum sanctorum also houses his wife Rukmani, elder brother Balarama, younger brother Satyakai, son Pradyumna and grandson Aniruddha, promoting family harmony. Apart from this, the temple has separate shrines for Lord Ranganatha, Lord Rama, Lord Yoga Narasimha (Thelliya Singa Perumal), Lord Gajendra Varadharraja Perumal, Vedavalli Thaayaar, Aandaal, etc. This temple is located in Triplicane, Chennai. You can reach this temple by MTC buses and local trains.

There are two routes you reach the temple. One route is full of Muslim meat shops, super crowded and the other route is more clean and serene. Try taking the cleaner route for peaceful Experience. The temple is very good and the God is really powerful. Om namo Narayanaya!🙏

One of the oldest Vishnu Temples in Tamil Nadu and probably only one of Lord Vishnu gracing with a moustache. Feels divine and calming during darshan. Prasadams, hand wash and drinking water facilities are available inside the temple. Lots of parking space on the road is available but may not be enough on special days. Paid, special darshan options available.

Beautiful temple with enchanting vibes. The strong positive aura created by devotees makes the place more blissful. Blessed by wonderful God statue, only thing that is not appreciated is that there are queue based on money you spend to see God. Why such discrimination!!! The road to reach is quite narrow and so going to this place by car certainly is challenging. Auto is best option. Worth one visit if first time in city...

Old is Gold, built in 6th century by Pallavas is classified as among the 108 Divya Desams dedicated to Vishnu. The name Parthasarathy means the charioteer of Arjuna, in the epic Mahabaratha (Wiki). Only temple of Vishnu idol with Moustache and three avatars: Narasimha, Rama and Krishna at same place. The pillars are standing so tall over the centuries hold the roof so firm. Looks so beautiful made of rock-cuts, oldest structure in Chennai. Temple open 6am close midday and open for Darshan 4pm-8pm. Due to covid closed on Friday over weekend. Visit early with family to enjoy the beautiful Tamil architecture, a unique experience.

Calm and divine feel as expected in any well maintained south Indian temple with long history. Car Parking facility and space is scarce here. But, one can use nearby Marina beach paid parking facility and walk over to this temple. usually I prefer to do this way.

Temple with rich history has parthasarathy as the main deity. Lord with the moustache can be worshipped only here. Sarath is the man driving the chariot and this idol represents the lord driving the chariot for Arjuna. Generally free on week days. Has limited parking space. Streets around the temple are quite narrow. If you can walk a bit, it is better to park the vehicle on the beach road and take a good walk. In Case of elderly people and children's (try not to plan on festive occasions, saturday and sundays), you can park the vehicle nearby and catch an auto. Free, Rs.50/- and Rs.100/- darshan are available. Prasadam counter accepts only cash. Drinking water and hand washing counters available. Must visit for Architects, structural and civil engineers.

This Hindu temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu, located at Thiruvallikeni, Chennai, India. I am the lucky one during my visit and got the Darshan. I don't know what the occasion was that, but I feel happy that I am one of that luckiest person who was available at that time. It is very near to Marina beach. You will get darshan here in evening from 4 pm and after that you may visit Marina beach in the evening.

Beautiful temple with a very big compound. Every minute spent there was worth it. The only problem was parking. Car parking was a big struggle. Rest everything was good. Pandit's inside the temple were very polite and made us understand everything about the deities over there. Loved the Parsadam.

Apart from the religious reasons the priests and the caretakers should be greatly appreciable for their conviviality. We took our baby two days before vaikunda ekadesi. We visited thinking it will be less crowded because the function is only two days later. Also, it was closing time and very crowded too. But they took extra care considering the baby and let us visit the sanctum without any hustle. We were really blessed because of the good people there.

It's a vibrant temple, with different sections painted in different colours and with various music. The temple is dedicated to Vishnu and houses a number of fascinating statues. It is definitely worth the visit. It's important to remember to avoid the crowds (and plan your visit appropriately, preferably early in the morning and not on a particular event day). Photography is prohibited, and visitors must remove their shoes before entering (which is normal in India but surprised me quite a bit).

I visited last this temple in1989. There is vast change in the temple premises as it is. The temple priests are highly competitive. Standing in front of each of the deities and recapitulating the past was highly satisfying. I cherish the sweet memories for quit some time to come. The Annual Brahmotsavam celebration at tme my visit was DIVINE BLESSING.

Absolutely amazing temple. I've fallen in love with the vibe of the temple and the south indian culture. Feeling blessed to come and witness the beautiful architecture and design and the prayers of devotees. I'm from Kolkata and I have not found so much richness in culture like South Indian people. If you are visiting Chennai for the first time this is absolutely must to visit this place.

Beautiful experience. Carries traditions and rituals of hundreds of years, and smells of flowers and Tulsi leaves. This temple might be the single best temple in and around Chennai, and is very unlike other popular temples which are heavily commercialised. For a person seeking spiritual peace or just a few moments of quality time inside a Hindu temple, this temple is a must visit. Do offer some small donations and the pundits will hand you flowers & leaves from the gods feet.

Calm and divine temple with lots of history. One of rarest temples of Krishna incarnated with moustache. Temple is very close to Marina beach.

It is one of the oldest temples in Chennai, probably of the 6th Century's. There is a good parking facility available outside the temple. I went for the first time though I have been in the city for the past 15 years, it was very peaceful there, the main deity was huge, and there are various other sannidhis inside the temple. One can spend some quality time immersing themselves in devotion.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Sri Parthasarathy Temple and I must say, it was a truly remarkable and enlightening experience. Nestled amidst serene surroundings, this temple offers a tranquil haven for spiritual seekers and a glimpse into the rich cultural and religious heritage of the region. From the moment I stepped foot inside the temple grounds, I was struck by the aura of peace and serenity that enveloped the entire area. The temple's architectural beauty was awe-inspiring, with intricate carvings and ornate decorations that reflected the skill and craftsmanship of the artisans. Upon entering the main prayer hall, I was greeted by the enchanting aroma of incense and the soft sound of devotional chants. The interior of the temple was adorned with beautiful murals depicting scenes from ancient scriptures, adding to the overall spiritual ambiance. The carefully designed layout of the hall allowed for a seamless flow of positive energy, encouraging introspection and meditation. The highlight of my visit was witnessing the religious rituals and ceremonies conducted by the temple priests. Their dedication, devotion, and deep-rooted knowledge were evident as they performed the rituals with utmost precision and reverence. Observing these rituals provided me with a profound understanding of the temple's significance and the role it plays in the lives of its devotees. What truly sets Sri Parthasarathy Temple apart is its inclusivity and welcoming atmosphere. Regardless of one's religious or cultural background, visitors are greeted with warmth and respect. The temple actively promotes interfaith dialogue and organizes various events and programs to foster unity and understanding among different communities. In conclusion, my visit to Sri Parthasarathy Temple was nothing short of extraordinary. It provided a serene retreat from the bustling world outside, allowing me to reconnect with my inner self and experience a sense of tranquility. The temple's devotion to spirituality, cultural preservation, and community outreach is truly commendable. I highly recommend a visit to Sri Parthasarathy Temple to anyone seeking solace, spiritual enlightenment, or a deeper understanding of the region's cultural heritage.

Beautiful ancient temple within the city. The sculptures and the deities are so delightfully, thoughtfully and artistically sculpted by our ancestors. The main deity is Krishna or Vishnu as the charioteer of Arjuna in the epic Mahabharata. The deity is huge with a sword and sporting a mustache unlike other Vishnu deities in Vishnu temples. Such a blessing to have such vibrant and high energy spaces in the city itself. The shrines of Ranganatha Swami, Narasimha and Lakshmi Devi are so beautiful as well.

Date of Visit: Multiple times Time of Visit: Morning and Evening This is the only temple that I know of where idol has mustache - I like this temple because God is believed to be standing here right after winning the Mahabharata war. Hence you can see a few scars in the Parthasarathy's face. Interesting, isn't? Please visit this place to get blessed!

This is one of the oldest and most revered Hindu temples in Chennai. The presiding deity's name is "Parthasarathy", literally meaning the Charioteer. The "Charioteer" was Lord Krishna in his avatar/role as the Charioteer of Pandava Prince Arjuna during the famed Mahabharata War. The deity appears with thick moustache and in a standing posture. The temple is at Triplicane, very close to the Marina beach and Vivekananda House. A must visit for pilgrimage tourists and others interested in Hinduism. The temple is well maintained; the interiors are air-conditioned. The architectural structure is marvellous and there are also shrines of other deities inside the temple.

Words fail me to describe the beauty, the piety, the love of God one feels when one enters this Temple. You have to feel the love of God in your soul when you enter this pious place. Lord Parthasarthy with a mustache. You can spend hours and hours just looking at the Lord. Each wall, each pillar, each sub-temple has history inscribed on it. This is not a Tourist place but this is a Pilgrimage of the soul of the Atman!! Do involve yourself with the working of this temple. It is the duty of even human being to strengthen such places of worship which are thousands of years old. Highly, highly recommended. temple opens at 6 AM and closes at 12-12:30 and then opens at 4 PM. Dress should be traditional dhoti, jeans, trousers....you can take flowers to the temples and the sub-temples. Do spend an hour here at least.

I visited Arulmigu Sri Parthasarthy Temple in Chennai just two months ago, and it was a special experience. This temple is a place to find peace and connect with God. It's been here for a really long time, over a thousand years, and that's pretty amazing. The temple's design is wonderful. The carvings on the walls and the tall towers are beautiful. Inside, you can see Lord Parthasarathy, who was Lord Krishna's charioteer, in a unique form. He has a mustache and a bow. The temple also has other gods like Lord Narasimha, Lord Ranganatha, and Lord Rama. The temple opens in the morning from 5:30 AM to 12:00 PM and in the evening from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Mornings are quieter, so it's a great time to pray and feel close to God. And you'll find it easier to park your car freely during these times. I would recommend visiting in the morning because it's less crowded and you can pray peacefully. Plus, you won't have to worry about availabilityof a good parking slot.

The Temple is lovely the management/staff are absolutely not. They are rude, do not communicate information properly and just waste people's time unnecessarily. If you have Abhishekam every Monday make it clear to the people that darshan is from xx am to xx am. Thirai will be out from xx am to xx pm. And darshan will again be possible only at 1 pm and accordingly temple will close late on Mondays. It's not rocket science. Even a notice board will do. But you make ppl wait for 1 hour, each person in the staff misleading us from saying only 15 mins/30 mins and then after 45 mins they say in 5 mins for every 15 mins that has passed. Everyone has work, family commitments. Nobody can sit indefinitely in the line nor should they. Even the sastrigals don't tell the correct time when they very well know. If it happens every Monday, you know how long it will take. Announce it or put up a chalk board. Don't make people suffer unnecessarily when we are all juggling so many things in a day. This simple info would help people plan the time of their temple visit.

You stand in a narrow queue to see the deity. There are 100 ppl before you and 50 more behind you. Suddenly the put screen over the deity without any prior announcement and you are stuck in the queue for 1 hour waiting for the screen to open. You are not able to go out or go in. Ppl sit there itself and this resembles the very same inhumane way of Tirupati. Such little regard for people. People are left hungry, thirsty, irritated and tired and fights start in the queue. And finally when you go in, disinterested priests will not even put Tulsi on the idol and the women staff keep pushing you. If someone has waited for an hour in the queue in the most inhumane manner, you won't even let them see the deity in peace for 1 min? And if you have to close the temple early, plan your Abhishekams earlier. The staff and priests ruin the whole experience of the temple. Treat the people properly and mention clear timings for each day. Visitors don't know your timetable. It's your duty to let them know. Poorly managed.

Based on this myth, Perumal is also known as Sri Parthasarathy. Ghee is added in large quantities in the treatment of wounds. Do not add spicy ingredients like chilli. Those who regret not being born beautiful will realize the philosophy that beauty is perishable when they see this goal of Tirumala. Tirtha Mother: Once upon a time, Brighu Maharishi repented at Italam in order to attain Tirumala as his son-in-law. The mother appeared in the lily flower that was blooming in the Pushkarani here at that time. Brighu named him Vedavalli and brought him up. When it was time for her marriage, Thirumal came to Ithalam as Ranganatha and married her. The Tirukkalyana ceremony is held at this temple in the month of February, on the Waxing Dhuvatsi. Vedavalli's mother is seated in a separate sanctum sanctorum. She does not leave the temple. Departs inside the temple premises on Friday and Uttara Nakshatra and performs on the swing. Krishna with family: In this temple, Perumal gives blessings to emphasize that human beings should be united with their families. Rukmini's mother and Mahalakshmi are near Venkata Krishna at the headquarters. Rukmini's mother is nearby because this Perumal is Krishnavataram who came to help Arjuna. On the right are brother Balarama, on the left are brother Satyaki, son Pratyumnan and grandson Anirudhan. Sita, Latsunar, Bharathan, Shatrukkanan and Anjaneyar are with Ramaphran in Tanisannathi. Wheelless Swami: The conch and the wheel are the main panchayats of Perumal. But, Swami does not have a wheel in this temple. Lord Krishna, who helped the Pandavas during the Mahabharata war, was determined not to take up arms until the end of the war. Therefore, he appears unarmed in the title. Holds only the trumpet declaring war. It is rare to see Perumala in such a sphere. Perumal, who is usually seen with four arms, has only two arms here as Krishna is in human form. Mustacheless vision: A mustache that conveys the beauty and majesty of the chariot. In order to realize this, Venkata Krishna is seen with a mustache in this temple. Thus, he is also known as Mustache Perumal. During the Vaikunda Ekadasi festival, one can visit him without a mustache for only 5 days from the sixth to the tenth day. Only when the special anointing of Ursavar Parthasarathy takes place on Fridays, do they dress up with a mustache. Five Source Locations: In temples often only one idol is the main source. However, in this temple, five idols are worshiped in Moolavar status. Venkata Krishna in the main sanctum, Ranganathar and Ramaphran in the forecourt, Gajendravarathar and Yoganarasimhar in the Prakaram are in separate shrines. Therefore, this place is called Panchamoorthy site. The system is based on the fact that Ranganathar came with Narasimha and Varagamurthy when he came here to marry his mother. Thus all the three kolas of Perumal can be seen here within the same shrine. Ranganathara who came to the wedding, what a mother! In the sense of, Srimannatha! Call. Hence he is also known as Srimannathar. Moolavar Venkata Krishnan to the east and Yoga Narasimhar to the west both have two flag trees and gates in both directions. Soundless bell: Yoga Narasimhar is in private at the Yoga Peetha. He was the first idol of Italam. The first puja is held for him in the morning. Arulmigu Sri Parthasarathyswamy Temple, Triplicane, Chennai is one of the 108 Divya Desams (wherin 12 Vaishnavaite Alwars have sung songs in praise of Lord Vishnu). Here, Pei Alwar, Thirumazhisai Alwar & Thirumangai Alwar have done mangalasasanam. According to Brahmanda Puranam, the five Deities in the temple are said to have been worshipped by the Saptah Rishis viz. Bhrigu, Manchi, Atri, Markandeya, Sumathi, Saptharoma and Jabali. This happens to be the oldest temple in the city of Chennai. "Brindaranya" is the traditional Puranic name of Thiru-Alli-Keni now known as Thiruvallikeni or modern Triplicane. The presiding Deity of this temple Sri Venkatakrishna Swami also known as "GEETHACHARYA". According to Brahmanda purana, King Sumathy prayed Lord Thiruvengada of the Seven Hills to give him darshan in the form of the Charioteer (SARATHY) to PARTHA during the MAHABHARATHA WAR and rendering GEETHA. Lord Thiruvengada appeared in his dream and bade him to go to "BRINDARANYA" where he would give him Darshan in the form he wished. Meanwhile, Athreya Maharishi was directed by his Acharya Vedavyasa to do Thapas at Brindaranya on the banks of the Kairavani Theertham overgrown with Thulasi plants and where king Sumathy was doing Thapas. Vedavyasa gave Athreya a Divya-Mangala Vigraha with a conch in his right hand and Gnana Mudra in the left hand pointing to His holy feet. Sumathy celebrated the Chaitrotsavam according to Vaikanasa Agama and worshipped him. The central figure enshrined in the sanctum sanctorum is being worsipped as "SRI VENKATAKRISHNA SWAMY". Sri Rukmani Thayar and Satyaki, his younger brother, are installed on his right and left side respectively. His elder brother Balarama is seen on the right side of Rukmani Thayar facing north and his son Prathyumnan and his grandson Anirudhan are seen on the northern side of the Garbagraha facing south. These five warriors (Pancha Veeral) are so placed in these positions as we now worship them to keep in conformity with some incidents that took place in their life-time. Still more grandeur and inspiring is the bewitching and ever smiling UTHSAVAR Deity – Sri Parthasarathy Swami, with marks in the face caused by Bheeshma's arrows during the Maha Bharatha War. The Thilagam set with diamonds with a Safire in the centre resembles the full moon in the crystal clear blue sky. This is the only temple where the presiding deity is sporting with a mustache .

Need to remove the shops encroached around temple front wall as spoils the beautiful wholesome view from outside. This temple has 2 entrances, one side has temple tank, which I guess was inside the temple campus, but due to development now it stands outside the main temple and it is crowded with petty shops. Parking was a issue, very little space that could park at the most 10-15 cars, rest have to park nearby houses, which creates issues for the local residents. temple and deities are so awesome, the pujaris perform all poojas with utmost reverence and discipline.

One of a divine places in Chennai. Been to this temple many a times during my stay at Triplicane (its a bachelors paradise). There is a shortage in car parking. If you go early, you may get the parking... else you need to rely on the streets. One idea is you can park your vehicle at the Beach and walk to the temple and get the blessings of god. Usually during saturdays crowd will be high, so you can always take a 100 rupee ticket..

One must visit this place to get blessings (if one believes God) of Super natural Power, embedded in statue

Arulmigu Sri Parthasarathy Perumal Temple, located in Tiruvallikeni, is a sacred and historically significant place of worship in Chennai, India. The temple is dedicated to Lord Krishna, who is worshipped here in the form of Parthasarathy, the charioteer of Arjuna in the Mahabharata. The temple's architecture is stunning, reflecting the rich heritage of South Indian temple art and craftsmanship. The intricate carvings, towering gopurams (gateway towers), and beautiful sculptures are a visual delight for visitors. The temple complex is well-maintained, and the peaceful atmosphere adds to the spiritual experience. The main deity, Lord Parthasarathy, is depicted in a majestic form, holding a conch, discus, mace, and lotus in his four hands. Devotees offer their prayers and seek blessings from the Lord, who is believed to be a protector and guide in times of need. One of the unique aspects of this temple is its association with the epic Mahabharata. The temple showcases various episodes from the Mahabharata through intricate artwork and sculptures, giving devotees a deeper connection to the legends and teachings of this ancient epic. The temple also hosts various festivals and religious events throughout the year, including the Brahmotsavam, which is a grand celebration attracting a large number of devotees. These festivals are marked by colorful processions, traditional music, and dance performances, creating a vibrant and joyful atmosphere.

Ancient temple with mind blowing architecture. There are several other small temples inside the main temple, but the main idol of Sri Parthasarathy is so amazing that you just get lost in the atmosphere inside. The ambience inside the temple is very calm, cool and filled with positive energy. The sheer size of the temple cannot be presumed from outside as once you enter it feels like there is an un ending loop of ways and temples. Truly mesmerised by the architecture.

Finally we had a chance to visit this historic temple. We visited on evening around 6pm. We saw a huge crowd and it's been moving crowd. But for the first time visitors it wil be quite confusing to know "Starting Point". Most of them waiting for prasadam which he shared with devotees after a Pooja. There are so many God available in this temple. You can find many God in the pillars apart from the one which has separate place. They had Special entrance also, but it comes with a price. Regarding Parking, it's so pathetic. Atleast for two wheeler you find some places or adjust any parked vehicle, but for 4 wheeler. It's a Chaos.. Temple car parking was very minimal, if you dont have place then you have park your car in roadside or anyone's house entrance. Temple management definitely look into this parking issue. But a must visit temple with family.

History of Parthasarathy Temple Triplicane Chennai An exceptional significance lies in the fact that the temple houses Lord Vishnu in the form of Parathasarthy. The word Partha in Sanskrit means Arjuna and the word Sarathy means Charioteer. Lord Krishna was the charioteer of Arjuna in Kurukshetra war of Mahabharata. The structure dates back to the 8th century when it was built by the Pallavas and resurrected by the Vijayanagara Kings in the 11th century. Great positive vibe place. Evening to night time we spent was really a blessed one. Dark skies, Evening breeze and temple lighting a divine experience to have. No special token for good Dharshan (to see close to God). Wonderful place to be a must visit

Roads are narrow to reach the temple, typical chennai style 😉 . Better come by auto or 2 wheeler or small car. SUV and sedans are tough on these roads unless you are an expert driver 😄 Temple is quiet and peaceful. Can say a must visit if you are in Chennai

One of the Divya Desa sthalams of yore, it's temple supposedly as ancient as 2000 years old, is a gem adorning the Southern precincts of India. Every journey to all the Other kshetrams commences here with Lord Parthasarathy and Komalavalli Thayar's blessings on the Devotees who embark on a mission to complete 108 temple visits across India and Nepal. The premises inside are maintained well but outside is far from desirable. With vast gatherings it is a challenging task but keeping in view majority of children and Sr Citizens' visit, the place near Entrance , car-park and around needs to be comfortable with paved, smooth flooring all around. Currently it is full of holes, dirty water and slippery ground made worse by vehicles. Authorities are requested to supervise everyday please 🙏 to ensure the Shrine gets its due

Went on Saturday evening after 6pm , To avoid the crowd went ahead with 50rs darshan ticket. The deity is unique here and beautiful experience to remember. Strictly no cameras/photography allowed . Parking is a challenge for 4/2 wheeler so plan during offseason or early morning hours. Ample shops are available outside to buy Pooja items for the temple.

There are a number of small temples inside the premises. Also the temple seems to be famous for people seeking jobs or promotions say locals. (Not verified) It is close to Marina beach and one can spend atleast an hr to completely see the entire temple.

The approach road from Beach is too narrow. Think twice before you want to take a 4 wheeler there. The parking is also limited. Very crowded on Saturdays, less crowded on weekdays. Temple closes between 12 and 4pm. Plus, they want cash for all purchases like archana ticket, prasad counter, and no digital payments at all so far.

Filled with so much history this temple is a Divya Desam a very important shrine. The key deity here is Sri Parthasarathy Swamy Lord KRISHNA in the form of a charioteer. It is blissful to see him. There are so many other deities to see and seek blessings. So plan at least 1 hour on non special days such as ekasasi. On special days plan to spend 2-3 hours. Don't forget to eat the puliyodarai and vadai and sojiappam from the temple madapalli. Must do.

It's a 2000 year old temple. And the speciality here is that you can see the god with moustache which is rare. It's 600m from swamy Vivekananda's illam You can just walk from the illam you will easily reach this temple. From the temple walls you can see it's quite old temple the whole structure is made of rocks. There is a main Vishnu temple and some upa temples for other gods and Guru's. Beside the prasadam counter there are pictures of lord Krishna with a storytelling about gopikas you can read that i felt it interesting and joyful to read.

My long wishes to have darshan of parthasarathy have been fulfilled today ... Awesome experience of darshan , today is a special day , kaithala sevai , on manavala mamunigal thiru nakshatra . I'm blessed to witness this seva. Priest are dedicated. Moolavar with a moustache as sarathy for parthan is very good to see. Thayar is also in good alankara. Blessed to have darshan. My only concern is that many divyadesam temples have been face lifted and maintained very nice nowadays . But here inside the temple is good , they should take steps to have a good view from outside ,surrounding places of the temples should be maintained neat.

This is the revered temple where it is believed that Bharatiyar tragically met his end due to an elephant attack. I had the privilege of partaking in the prasadam there. The temple exudes a pleasant atmosphere and I found Mylapore to be quite charming

People in the 50 rs queue acting like idiots when we go to buy the ticket like as if we are trying to break the queue. Boss, if you are irritated from waiting, go take it out on the temple staff. As if I am going to jump over you and go. There are dividers. We were only going to buy the ticket and stand in the queue anyway, you unintelligent beings. Iyengars should learn how to talk in temple or keep quiet. If you can't even be courteous to humans, no point seeing the Lord. Even he wouldn't want to see you.
