The Lost Hostel is very much recommended for those who'd want to get a good taste of Varkala. At the cliff facing a beach, the location it is situated in is scenic and offers easy access to all basic facilities. The staff and volunteers were friendly, informative, humble and really helpful. The dormitories, private rooms and common spaces were neat and tidy. With the awesome people I met there and the memories we made, I'd defenitely visit this place again.

They trying to match Zostel type culture and ambience, but they didn’t not able to keep that level of quality, ambient and rooms. Rooms have not have proper air flow and one fan is not enough for the 4 bunker bed. Not able to sleep at all.

This place is located on cliff great location. They helped me with cancellation and rebooking for another dates it was smooth. The crowd at this hostel was cool. The managers weren’t local I guess, they couldn’t help me with timings of local transport. They couldn’t allot the bed properly by showing the room it was more like talk to the people in the room and choose a bed. Then the laundry service was pathetic and not budget friendly. Had to mention this as they lost my towel and they charged every piece 20 bucks and didn’t get the dirt off my pant. They were arranging group sightseeing for people who are interested.

I stayed in Lost hostel Varkala in 2019 at that movement it was in other location. I spent more about 10 days as it was having a great vibe. But putting the same in mind I booked before seeing this new location. Seriously I checked at evening time around 7PM. Once we after checked in. We have gone to Dorm it was very much congested and with old beds no proper pillow.. Very poor washroom maintenance. Room was very much suffocating. The same night we booked to other hostel and moved in morning. As we thought to stay for few days.

No words to describe how amazing this place is. Stayed for more than 2 weeks here. Location is perfect right on the cliff. Clean dorms, Good wifi connectivity, equipped kitchen, super cool staffs. How can i not mention about Niko 🐶 ♥️.Good place to meet and connect with fellow Travelers. Would definitely come back again and recommend to you all .

Must visit place if you wanna meet new people and chill out. The rooms have a nice vibe with the sea view from the common balcony. The common area is a nice place to hang out with friends. Being on the cliff, the location is perfect for food and everything. They will arrange a rental two wheeler if required to roam around Varkala as well. Soham is a great host and ready to help guy.

I have just left Lost Hostel. I arrived with only 2 nights booked and planned in Varkala, 5 days later I leave begrudgingly after an amazing stay. Not only are ALL the staff great fun and kind (Alphin is a legend,) but the rooms are comfortable and the vibe is unbeatable. So much so most of the hostels in the area would hang out with us in the day time.... I met some amazing people and wont forget them or my stay there. I lost all track of time and days... certifiably lost. Was great to listen and share in music with you all and hear each story. Location is fantastic near the helipad and both beaches, rooms are cheap, common areas are clean with plenty to do and they have dogs! Thanks!

One of the most premium and welcoming hostels in Varkala. Soham is a great host and the crowd is super filtered. The washrooms are also very clean especially the common washrooms. Value for money. Basic in terms of amenities and dorm furnishing. But the impeccable location right on the cliff near the helipad compensates for that. Amazing view from the terrace. Helpful property managers. The place has a nice vibe to it and is great for travelling solo and meeting new people.

Super chilled out vibe and awesome ambience! The hostel has many awesome spots for people to sit and chill together! The hosts are lovely people (specially Chris!) and will do everything to make your stay comfortable. Loved it here and definitely coming back again! :)

Lost hostel is one of the best hostels i have ever been to. They have so friendly hosts you make you feel home. Already feels like I’m a part of lost hostel family. Chris is the most amazing host you will ever find.

First sight in love with this place. Simple and rustic feel yet classic. The rooms are spacious and clean. One can directly see the sea from the window. It was a bit difficult to find the place as Google maps shows an incorrect route....hence the name Lost Hostel ;-P..... If you are coming here for first time then locate Varkala helipad in Google maps, once you reach Varkala helipad you will see l buddha's cafe ..the hostel is behind Buddha's cafe.

Best place to stay if you are travelling solo. Great location which in on the Varkala cliff with easily accessible food and other places. The staff is really friendly and rooms are clean. I would highly recommend to go for AC ROOM. There is no cafe in the hostel but you have access to the kitchen if you are a good cook.

Lovely hostel. I was LOST .. haha ♥️ Clean and spacious dorms. The best part is the location. It’s on the cliff area, starting itself. Next to all the cute cafes. The chilling area is well maintained. Nice place to sit and have a good time solo/friends. The only negative point here is the washroom. 1 washroom was for 2 dorms.

On the Cliff, by the beach, fantastic location for a hostel in Varkala. The staff is warm and accommodating. I had booked AC female dorm on Agoda, but on arrival at the property I was told that there are no female dorms with AC. I had to change my booking. The entire property has chilled out vibes and casual ambience which makes you feel at home. Cleanliness was a concern bcoz of irresponsible and inconsiderate guests. The washrooms don't have exhaust fans, and they are very much required!

The place is not hygienic. There is less ventilation in the room and you will feel very hot as the air from fan doesn’t reach the bed. There are ants throughout the room which crawl on the bed also. Not recommended at all.

As it is on the cliff there is only walkable distance to everything on the cliff. The beach is just some stairs far. The people here were so nice. As it is hostel you can meet so many people from different places and make a hell lot of friends.we stayed in a dorm that had 4 beds. Everything was neat and well maintained. There is a quite large kitchen where you can cook and some cute dining spaces too. This is surely gonna be our go to place in Varkala!!

A small hostel located right at the entrance of the cliff road. It is closer to good hotels and shops. It’s easy to find and the hosts are nice. For the price, it’s good. Dorms are clean and they change the sheets and pillow covers. You have bunk beds with curtains around. There is 1-2 common bathrooms & kitchen to cook your own food. You can park 2 wheelers outside. Would recommend if you’re going for a budget stay.

I stayed 5 nights and it was amazing! Situated right on the cliff, food is very easily accessible and the beach is just a walk down the stairs on the cliff. Even in less touristic times it is a great place to meet people because of a very nice chilling space. The staff is great, the building is clean, pretty but also functional, and there is a spacious kitchen and bathrooms. My laundry was neatly done. Overall I had no negative experiences in my stay!

Got to stay here for couple of days. It was a pleasant experience. Location of the hostel was too good, exactly right where things are happening. Met lot of good souls there, it had a recreational space which was good. The staff there were very cordial and friendly. On the whole had an awesome stay. As there is always room for improvement, i would suggest the staff to look into the bathroom maintenance and regular doormat replacement. Eitherway i would definitely stay at the same place if i return back to varkala in future.

Mediocre experience 1 night stay ₹1507 per night for non-AC private room (booked on MakeMyTrip) We stayed at The Lost Hostel for one night. The host was helpful and warm. While the room was clean, there were no toiletries in the washroom. We stayed the night and checked out at 11 am. There was no hassle during our stay. Overall a decent place for someone who is not looking for luxury yet wants to experience a cliff top stay in this quaint beach-side town.

If there was 0 star, I would still have given -1 to this pathetic hostel. I am not giving any fake bad reviews; you can see my previous reviews of others. My stay at this hostel was an utterly unpleasant experience due to its abysmal cleanliness standards. From the dirty bathrooms and unhygienic beds to the neglected rooms, it was evident that the management had no regard for providing a clean and comfortable environment for their guests. I strongly advise anyone considering a stay at this hostel to look elsewhere for accommodations.

It's a perfect mix of shanti shanti and a hint of some party scenes. I loved my stay. The dorms are very comfortable. One of the best parts is that you can cook your own food. I mean that really does solve a lot of problems especially if you're staying for long. I had some crazy nights where the hostel food just saved the night for me.😂 The hosts are super nice and friendly. The location is perfect. I mean it's a beautiful property and a super comfortable and safe stay. I made few amazing friends as well. I guess that just sums up my solo experience. Loved it. I am hoping to go back really really soon. Go get lost man! 😆

Lost hostel is one of the best hostel you will find in Varkala!! Easily accessible from North cliff. Amazing location near to beach and all the major cafés out there! Very first hostel stay of mine. Had a bit of confusions and doubtful with the decision but once the days spent the thoughts and the hospitality was simply amazing. The caretaker and the locality is so good with soothing sound of the full strech beach.

The name Rightly so, it's for the people who are lost and they can find themselves here. Yoga sessions, Common Room and open kitchen : i don't know how they can be so tremendous and exist together. Yoga Classes by Surbhi is one thing, one shouldn't miss. It's conducted on the rooftop and the feeling after yoga is upright harmonious. It's a Beautiful feeling. It's just 20 steps away from a breathtaking view of the Varkala horizon from the hostel.

Very convenient location . Private rooms are good for couples as well. Overall a very friendly atmosphere. Check in takes a little while else all good and early check in requests are not entertained at all..

Loved my stay here. The manager, abhimanyu, was really sweet and ensured you felt comfortable during your stay. The rooms were nice, clean and spacious and the bathrooms were neat too. The pricing was quite budget-friendly so it's great for long-term stays and for backpackers too. Plus, it's just a 5 minute walk from the Varkala beach and the most happening cafes in the area. Oh, and I was absolutely in love with the rooftop views 😍😍😍

A place with a perfect bohemian look and vibes! With the perfect sea breeze, lights, this place looks different at night. Just at a few meters walk from helipad, it is also at a very good location and offers a beautiful view from the cliff. The view from the roof top is also amazing. Just grab a cup of coffee and get immersed in the beauty of this beautiful little town. Special thanks to friendly staff Raman & Chris, who make sure that everyone has a comfortable stay here. They also helped in planning a trip to a nearby island and getting a cab arranged. It was a beautiful stay at this place!

Lost Hostel is located in just the perfect spot. It's right on the North cliff of Varkala making it one of the best locations to get around the cliff, while also being very affordable. The view from the terrace is beautiful. I stayed at lost for over a week and it was so homely. They have a kitchen where you can cook your own food. The staff at Lost treat you like one of your own and will even go out of their way to help you. There's just the right amount of common area space where you can mix with other Lostellers. Lost is perfect for long stays, and if you go, be prepared to stay there for a long time because you won't feel like leaving at all. I can't wait to visit Lost Hostel Varkala again !

Must try for Solo Travellers. Very close to the cliff. There are amazing restaurants at a stone's throw away. The play area, common area, parking area are all top notch. I had an amazing time.

If you're looking for a pleasant hostel with lot of enjoyable amenities,come here without any hesitation.Our check-in process was smooth,the beds are well kept,there are a lot of common areas and indoor games and the overall vibe is splendid. Also the location is a huge plus point.It is located right beside the cliff,just near the helipad and the beach is easily accessible.They also have a spacious common area in the premises,which is quite comfortable and has a table tennis board too.The night is especially beautiful with all the well lit surroundings.We enjoyed the place a lot and felt that this place was worth every penny. Easily one of the best hostels around in Varkala!!!

The overall vibe of the hostel was great. The basic facilities like restroom maintenance could have been better. If you are looking for a super economical stay and you are willing to use shared toilets and won't mind to lack a bit of comfort, then you could go for this.

Good vibe at the best location but the curtains smelled a lot. You will need to wash them now and then, other than that all were good.

I have stayed here at this hostel long enough to get a feel for this place. I have absolutely love the experience. Proactive staff and manager. The property is kept really clean at all times, they have laundry service and a well equipped kitchen available for use. Lots of indoor and outdoor common spaces to hang out with inmates and the crowd I've felt at this hostel is quite vibrant. Accessibility is great too. Beach access and helipad parking is less than a minute away by walk. I'd recommend this place highly to anyone who really wants to explore varkala.

I had an incredible stay at the Lost hostel which made my travel journey in Kerala one of the best experiences I've ever had. I received a warm welcome from the moment I reached till I left. The staff were very respectful and kind they will also make sure you are enjoying your stay and would guide you perfectly to discover the area around. The hostel is already in a perfect location on the cliff from where you can see the beach and have great coffee shops, restaurants, and many more things just within walking distance. I'd highly recommend this place as you will notice from the moment you reach that the vibe is really outstanding and the food offered is so delicious the place is so neat and relaxing. I was super comfortable that I really wanted to stay longer if I only could but I'd definitely return back again if I get the chance to.

Starting with the great location - with a view over the cliff towards the ocean, right next to a nice cliff walk and several restaurants and bars. But what made the stay extraordinary was the vibe and the people! Felt like a little home and definetly worth staying for more than just one night! All in all: super nice ❤️☺️

If I could give this hostel 10 stars I honestly would, from Soham who runs the hostel day to day and is probably one of the kindest people you will ever met, to Pinto who cooks the most amazing Indian homemade food I’ve had, the Lost Hostel in Varkala felt like a home away from home. Lost Hostel is incredibly social and you will no doubt meet some amazing people in your time there. There is also a host of activities that you can get involved in including my personal favourite, sunset rooftop yoga with Manu. The property is also on Varkala Cliff which is only a short walk down the stairs to the beach and is also surrounded by a bunch of delicious restaurants. So if you are planning a trip to Varkala definitely stay here, you won’t regret it.

The lost hostel was a really nice place. Very fun, a lot of people and very friendly. The location is PERFECT, you stay around the best restaurants and bars and im front of the best beach where you can chill all day. Also soham is a great manager, we had a lot of fun with him and he made us feel very comfortable

Situated right next to Helipad and has good view from the top. The restaurants and cafes are easily accessible from this hostels and they have a kitchen, where I had my dinner self cooked. Also, the vibe is good and people are friendly during my stay. Would recommend for group/solo travellers. Won't bite your pocket.

I stayed here during my Kerela trip..one if the best place you can find on helipad ..good location, good beds, and lovely kitchen. Talking about the vibe, it's been maintained by amazing host! And you can meet some crazy travellers and can engage in the workshops, parries hosted by lost! If you wanna get lost in Kerela ...then you can get lost in lost hostel!

Nice ambience and we even got an upgrade to the sea view room! Nice space, wall art and friendly hosts!
