Calm place.. serene .. least noisy accomodation available.. although nearby is beach Varkala town etc.. Janardhanaswami temples and Varkala Palace Watchmen/Guards lived in the area in earlier times hence named Watcher Mukku (junction) .. 2kms to Punnamood jn and 2 kms to Janardhanaswami temple. Few resorts and accomodations are available in the area. There is a general store which remains open from 8am to 11pm . Watchermukku is midway on the Janardhanapuram Temple Punnamoodu road. It is open full time. Watchermukku has a store which is open till 10.30pm or 11pm . Bus service is available at Punnamood and at Temple Jn both around a mile away. Autorikshas are available. The beach is a mile away from here.

Nice calm place in Varkala municipal area. Lodging available in the area Shops for basic needs is there in the junction till 11pm. Roads from here leads to Kurakkanni Punamoodu Mundayil and Janardhanaswamy temple at Altramood. Bus service temporarily stopped to this area and roads are excellent as of 2019. Urul festival is conducted by people of Watchermukku during Janardhanaswamy temple festival.
