Now this is where im planning my next staycation. I really got a nice vacationing vibe from here, but haven't stayed here yet. We went for a quite night at the beach and a dinner. Definitely looks like a nice place to relax. Though I can't give a detailed review regarding the other facilities, we tried the food from their Swastha Vegetarian restaurant and it was quite yummy even though everything was a bit too spicy. Overall the place is full of greenery with a dazzling and elegant look. Really looking forward to visiting this place again.

5 star not worth, 3 star is the best I would give. Pathetic room service, delayed attention. Things are not working i.e had issues with hot water in bathroom and when asked they said there was less occupancy in that building so the water takes time, I mean more than 20minutes. I don't think that is an excuse, room average and not even provided the towels according to the number of visitors booked. Swimming pool not maintaining the rules. The food was good though and the staff who attended the restaurant was good. At the check out time, they had wrong restaurant bills attached to ours, which made the entire thing bad. A five star hotel would be for sure better than this. My entire expectations were ruined.

My Recommendation: Go for any room with breakfast. But DO NOT opt for lunch/dinner with the booking, it is not worth the money you spend. Do not fall for that sham unless you are looking only for pure convenience. Summary: If you are looking for a decent, quiet place to stay in Kovalam, this is it. Rooms: Booked a Deluxe room that could accommodate 3 adults and 1 kid (as per their website), but ideally can accommodate only 2 adults and 1 kid. But the rooms were decent sized, clean, and well maintained. I have a toddler who loves the pool, so we got a room close to one and he was happy. Breakfast: Breakfast was awesome and worth getting along with your booking. Good variety and with live dosa and tea counters. It was very convenient as well. Lunch: Menu wasn't that exciting, so we took a walk to Bait@TAJ which was expensive but was a good experience and they treat you really well, without judging you by your spending capacity. Dinner: The reason why I always opt for a buffet is that we have two picky eaters in my family. So the more options, the better they will enjoy. On day 1, the menu was extensive, some we loved and some we absolutely hated, but we were content with the ones we loved. So we expected the same the very next day. On day 2 since they had a lot of events organized, they moved the dinner for the guests (easily expendable since they already paid for their meals) outside in the rain and also reduced the menu to less than half the options than the previous night, which we were not informed of. Service: We were treated well for the majority of the time, but there were occasions where we felt that they would treat you better if you were a big spender or a larger group.

What could have been a short quiet stay was marred by speakers playing loudly in the morning at 8. The rooms are comfortable and cool. Curtains could have been more light proof and the doors more sound proof. Beautiful pool too relax A hop skip jump to the beach. The staff is very courteous and helpful.

The minute you reach the resort you will be in awe of it right at the reception with some brilliant architecture and well managed check-in process. The resort has 227 rooms so the sheer size of the resort is good enough to surprise you as it is tucked away from the main road. The deluxe rooms are quite average and nothing special to excite you. While most of the rooms have a balcony you will find it difficult to get a view of the sea although view of the swimming pools (there are 3) is good. If you need a direct sea view then get ready to shell out quite some extra money The restaurant is good and service is very prompt but they can do better on the food taste The breakfast buffet has loads of options and will not disappoint You will have a direct access to a private beach although swimming in the sea is not recommended as it is quite rough and beach gets deep in a short distance

UDS is a vast and sprawling 273 rooms beach side property. The exterior looks cool and best part of their property is the lobby, restaurant and cafes. They serve nice selection of foods and ample variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. They have 3 pools, gym, yoga center and a small shop to buy few clothes and souvenirs. Over all nice setup. Now when it comes to rooms, it doesn't come near to a 5 star property. The rooms are tiny and the toilets are even tinier. There is a strange foul smell in the wash rooms which troubles you in the room as well. The maintenance could not solve the issue in my 2 nights stay.

Don’t be fooled by the images you see online. We paid premium to get the room with balcony that offers bay view. Our room was in first floor and they have a fence that hinders our view completely. And worst of it was could only see a bunch of strangers standing by blocking the little view that we got of the water. No privacy if I open the balcony curtains at all. The room is outdated with flickering power and damaged lock; withered wall. The hotel We paid premium to get the room with balcony that offers bay view. The staff were very unprofessional to have just opened the door to enter the room while we were inside. Also, the beach is restricted.. you can only see the water but not enjoy dipping your feet in it. If that’s the case, don’t advertise it as “on the beach”. I got my kids here to play in the waters and left super disappointed. The only good part was the breakfast spread. Total rip off. I Would never recommend this to anyone for the money it is listed at.

Great calm place very close to the ocean. The waves crashing constantly creates an amazing feeling. Rooms are apartment sort of room opposed to villa stays provided by other upscale places. There are 3 pools with varied timings. Being close to the sea has its toll on the pools. Even in the early morning you would find features and small insects. But the staff is maintaining it nicely though. And finally the staff are very friendly and explains things elaborately.

Overall experience would have been great if it wasn't for their Restaurant service. Not sure they train the staff but being 5 star hotel one would expect to have correct order served and correct amount billed I the Restaurant. The food did not taste any good either. Other than that it was quite well. Rooms were nice and there were other facilities available but we did not use.

The resort was very neat and clean. It looked beautiful with all the flowers bloomed. There are 3 swimming pools and every pools were very hygiene and well maintained. The rooms and balconies were satisfactory but we asked for a cradle for my baby, and we didn't get any response from them. Breakfast was quite good.

Overall My experience, which unfortunately was far from satisfactory. Firstly, upon my arrival, I was assigned an unclean room. This was particularly disappointing, as it gave a very poor first impression of the hotel's cleanliness and attention to detail. It's essential that rooms are thoroughly cleaned and inspected before being offered to guests. Additionally, during my stay, without my consent , my room was cleaned. This was highly unprofessional, as it violated my privacy. A basic courtesy should involve seeking guests' permission before entering their rooms. They did tried to reach out to me but since I wasn’t able to respond that doesn’t mean they have liberty to get into my room without my consent. I believe these issues indicate a lack of professionalism and attention to customer needs at your hotel. I understand that mistakes can happen, but it's crucial for a reputable establishment to rectify them promptly and ensure guest satisfaction. The manager did step forward and talk to me during my check out and she did felt sorry about what had happened. Having said about the concerns, I’m truly impressed with the hotel staffs behaviour and friendliness’s, and certainly the quality of the food was excellent and the varieties of dishes to offer. I stayed in the same property in Alleppey and the hospitality was excellent. I hope you take this feedback seriously and use it as an opportunity to improve your services. Thank you.

Delicious and fresh food served at this resort. The morning buffet is unbeatable! Rooms are clean when actually tended to before checking in. Mine personally was not - toilet was clogged and beds were not properly done. Shower floor in the bathroom is slick, so be mindful of that. Especially if you’re older or not able bodied.

No way this is a 5 star hotel. We had such a nightmare experience there. The jotel is built right next to a some sort of a temple that goes off with noisy bells at 5 and 6 am making impossible for us to sleep well for the two nights we were there. The noises were accompanied by praying chants and by animal grows. We reported this to the staff and they pretended they did not know anything about when it is clearly happening every day. This is honestly unacceptable. The room itself isn't something special with the bathroom being very small and with just a curtain separating the shower area from the rest. The AC was too noisy and we had to shut it down during the night. We spent a lot of money and we expected way more than what we had, especially considering we came for the Christmas. This was a great disappointment. The only good things was the band the hotel hired for thr Christmas dinner on the 25th evening and the massages.

The food is good... But the options are limited... It is pricey.. Yes it is a 4 star hotel... It is supposed to be pricey... But is it truly worth the price? Honestly.. No.. Also please make sure that you have ordered the food before 3:30 or else they'll deny you food straight to the face...

We stayed there for 2 nights.. they were running full house on our day of arrival.. considering we had kids with us.. they upgraded us two categories and gave Sea facing large rooms. Rooms were good but pretty humid - I think coz of the weather. Service was good. Overall an amazing experience. I would highly recommend this property for your 2-3 days vacay plans.

My family stayed at Uday Samudra from 01/11/2023 through 01/13/2023. We enjoyed our stay and the food. This was our first time taking our kids to India and they had a blast between the swimming pools and the ocean. The food was excellent and all the staffs were super helpful. They have different spas and a clean workout room. We highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to take their family for vacation or a place to relax. We hope to visit this place again when we visit India next time.

There is no doubt that this is a beautiful resort hotel. Also has 3 swimming pools. The grounds are very well maintained. There is a good selection of food but it's just a bit average in quality. The dining room does get very busy at peak times. Personally I wish the non veg choices were made without bones but do understand that this is the local way. The room we had was overlooking one of the pools and the ocean. But also building work. The bathroom was small and would benefit from turning the door round so it didn't open onto the toilet. Service was generally good and polite.

The hotel is very beautiful with three swimmingpools and pretty greenery everywhere. The rooms are fine with huge balconies and are pretty clean. The service was excellent, as everyone from reception to the guys at the pool were very very friendly and courteous. The breakfast buffet was great with a huge selection and the dinner restaurant was simply amazing. The hotel is located directly at Samudra beach, which is very quiet and beautiful. The only downside is that the waves come in pretty high, so swimming is almost impossible. But the hotel itself was amazing!

The location of the hotel was the only good thing about this place. The service was below average. The quality and taste of food is very poor. The rooms were old and rusty and despite being on the higher floor, the views were obstructed with trees and garbage. The beach is not a private beach as advertised. Would definitely not recommend staying here.

The place is really nice and location is amazing. There are many rooms with some issues like AC not working, flush not working. We attended wedding their, that is why have idea about these issues from different rooms. Surprisingly their north indian food is very good compare to other hotels in trivandrum.

We were excited for this property as it describes 5 star.our first 5 Star experience. I would like to describe 2incidents in our 2 days stay 1.after using the pool I mistakenly taken 2 towels .the staff at pool was very rude with my wife.very bad behaviour. 2 .there was marriage reception arranged in the hotel poolside.till 11 at night loud music was there and after calling at reception nothing was done. Overall third class experience.

It was always a wonderful experience with Uday Samudra. Rooms were well organized and a beautiful balcony arranged with lively bougainvillea plants. Those colorful flowers give a delightful view. Enjoyed mesmerizing sunset view with resort private beach. You can relax there listening to the splashing waves when they lash the shores.03 well maintained pools with dazzling lighting. The food was delicious with plenty of varieties.

During my recent trip to Kovalam, I had the pleasure of staying at UDAY SAMUDRA LEISURE BEACH HOTEL (UDS), and it proved to be an unforgettable experience. Nestled amidst the pristine beauty of Kovalam Beach, this resort offers a perfect blend of luxury, tranquility, and breathtaking views. From the moment I arrived, the warm and friendly staff made me feel welcome. The check-in process was swift and efficient, and I was immediately struck by the resort's picturesque surroundings. The lush greenery, beautiful gardens, and the soothing sound of waves crashing against the shore set the tone for a truly relaxing getaway. The rooms at UDAY SAMUDRA LEISURE BEACH HOTEL (UDS) were spacious, well-appointed, and offered a cozy ambiance. Mine had a private balcony with a stunning view of the ocean, allowing me to unwind while enjoying the gentle sea breeze. The comfortable bed, modern amenities, and cleanliness of the room added to the overall satisfaction of my stay.

The rooms at the resort are not at all good. There is a peculiar smell in the rooms. The food is of average rating, though some of the items are much below average taste. The staff at the resort is good and helpful. Will never prefer to stay there again

We stay at this hotel in Deluxe Room and the room was not so specious. It was little smelly and bathroom was not so clean. The room quality clearly does not justify its prices. They had key operated doors and not card operated. This property, no doubt, have a quality of staff as they speak very nicely despite of having rush at the reception due to ongoing marriage functions. Being a beach side resort, the property has no view at all but its multiple pools, BARs and inside restaurants were good. The food was good and the staff at the restaurant and bar were very friendly and polite. This property is a good option but I am sure one can find much better option than this one. Cheers!

Hotel had a cool atmosphere, but I was a bit disappointed with the rooms. It was fairly beat up and old looking. It definitely did not feel like a 5-star hotel. The bathroom door was broken and the shower didn't have a shower door - just a curtain so water leaked into the rest of the bathroom. The room overall looked fairly dusty and dirty. Breakfast was good. I am honestly surprised that this was a 5-star hotel. I'd say this is 3 star at best. It is definitely over-priced for what it is. I'm giving this a 2-star review because it was a 3-star hotel with 5-star prices. Do not have high expectations.

We stayed for two days. Experience was fantastic. Hotel is just beside the sea and we had a sea view room. Service manager Gintha Rajiv's service was fantastic. He is a very nice and supportive person. I never forget his smile. In fact every staff of the hotel was very nice. My son and I enjoyed a lot in hotel's one swimming pool which was just beside our room.

I had stayed there for 3nights . Beautiful property just in front of ocean with having beach access. Nice ambience, well behaved and friendly staff. They have three well maintained swimming pool. 1. About Stay - I had a booking for ocean view room. The room I got was in corner . It was a very big & nice room with all modern facilities and amenities but the balcony and window were in extreme corner so you can see the Ocean, only if you go to the balcony . Also because of these the room doesn’t get day light so you need to switch on the light during day time. I didn’t like this partial ocean view room which is dark at day time & asked them for room change in middle as I had observed middle rooms are better then corner one . Next day they shifted me to 3rd floor again corner room but another side as they was saying all middle rooms are occupied. The good part they had shown me the room before shifting and I was ok with it , at list day light is coming & ocean view is little better than previous one. They decorated the room very nicely in the evening. But problem was with AC at late night water started dripping and the floor was slippery . 2. About food: Food was really great in all buffet b/f lunch and dinner with lots of options north India, Chinese, Kerala flavour , continental both veg/non veg . Specially I enjoyed lunch buffet very much as there was kerala flavour section separately & which was amazing. 3. Drawback : There were some events going on in the hotel, so it very noisy at times. Specially in reception & lobby area loud speaker sound for a corporate event was really irritating. Management should take care of this. They should provide sound proof banquet hall for such event’s so that the other guests doesn’t face any problem.

The hotel was amazing and had excellent amenities. Giving rating as 4 star because the room provided to us was sea facing but the sea view was blocked due the dump and rubble present on the beach. (Stayed in Room # 404).

I had 2 days stay at the hotel. It is located at a beautiful location. The interiors and ambiance is very good. The first impression was impressive. However I requested them to give the best possible balcony view. I have booked 3 rooms for 2 days. Saddened after spending 5 mins in the room. 1. They provided us the room which is located where construction work is going on. Constant noise of drilling was spoiling our mood. 2. The rooms are very small. 3. It is lagging with the basic facilities like room slippers, shampoo, conditioner etc. 4. Flush is not working in one of the room. So finally I called upon the manager to resolve the complaint. After visiting 2-3 more rooms we decided to shift at another location of campus. They took almost 2 hours after the call to shift the luggage. It spoiled our entire evening. However after shifting, experience was smooth for the other day. Good things to be noticed 1. Pool was cleaned and well maintained 2. Food was tasty 3. View behind the hotel is excellent. Today advance booking of uday backwaters has been done. Hopeful to have good experience over there. Thank you.

This is the second time I m being there. This is one of the good property around here within a manageable rate. It's very wast which can accommodate many guests. Rooms are basic but clean n spacious. Bathrooms are also basic but maintained well. It a Lil bit old property but generally maintained well. The beach is next to this but due to security they won't allow the back gates during the night. But it's very nice to have a night walk and may be sit and chit chat with friends on the adjacent gathering space

The ambience of the whole resort was beautiful and pleasant. The only part i did not like about the resort was the rooms and the bathrooms. They were all clean and neat but the rooms are very small with almost no space to even walk. The bathroom were clean but the taps were not working properly. Amenities were all provided and were top notch. The service was also very good. If the room infrastructure is improved and the bathroom’s are fixed then the stay would have been more joyous.

Beautiful resort for a weekend getaway. Loved the aesthetics & ambiance. The food is decent but limited options on their menu, I guess due to covid & very few guests. I stayed here from 24 to 27 November 2022 in room number 215. The rooms are with 2 star level facilities. Paid for 5 star rates. Horrible bathrooms . Shower is faulty , Toilet flush was not working. Plumber service was obtained after repeated requests. Kitchen smoke and smell are disturbing while staying there. All my 3 nights were horrible. My rating less than 2 overall. External ambience is very good. Fitness center is poorly maintained. Coffee shop and Bar is exotic.

A memorable experience in staying at UDS! I came for a business trip with the packed work schedule and had no big expectation of enjoying the stay. It turned out to be a good experience. Everyday, started the day at 5 am with morning walk in serene environment with gentle winds and tides soaring dance. This is followed with Dr Suresh -Yoga teacher. He is much more than a Yoga teacher. I was enlightened with his vast knowledge of human anatomy. Learnt that our calves in legs are second heart !. The breakfast has sumptuous spread but my requirement was limited. On Sunday, I tried ayurvedic massage and it was soothing. The biggest surprise was the lunch – real authentic north Indian dishes – Achari Paneer, Dahi Bada, Mushroom peas masala, methi puri…I complimented the Chef – Sebastian and also Sarath from restaurant on this feast. The business trip became wellness treat!.

Great welcome, nice room, delicious food and above all remarkable service.

Pros: Excellent sea view rooms, courteous staffs, greenish landscapes, plunge pools, and ideal location for family time. You can find usual amenities like the gym, library, spa, etc here. Cons- The cuisine (I tried dinner and breakfast) is unfortunately not up to par. I do not believe the dish is worth the money, nor simply in terms of flavour. Perhaps the resort is returning to normal following the covid crisis, which I felt across the premises.

This hotel is NOT a 5 star. It’s barely a 2 star hotel. Nothing 5 star about this place. Booked an OCEAN VIEW room and what we got was a PARTIAL SEA VIEW from outside on the balcony. The room itself is nothing better than a normal hotel room you find inside the city, had a weird smell. Our AC was not working and the service was extremely slow. Breakfast buffet was below average. Literally checkout early as we didn’t want to be there anymore. Please don’t visit this space and especially do not book an ocean view. Totally DISAPPOINTING!

Resort ambiance & food is good but room servicing, house keeping is very poor. No toiletries, dental kit was provided at the time of check-in even after calling several times had to go to reception for the same. Staff management was very poor & taking too much time to provide anything that is ordered. During the time of check-out, I was having infant with me & I request for water at reception, they asked me to go to restaurant for water bottle & when I reached their I was informed no bottle service is provided from restaurant.

Visited today for lunch. Very bad service starting from the security and the lady at the reception. The restaurant waiters behavior is unacceptable. He took 1.5 hours to serve what we ordered. The grilled chicken was not cooked properly and when we informed this, he took another 25 min to cook it properly and give it back to us. The ambience is worth it, but the food quality, taste and the behavior of the star deserves a 0 star rating out of 5.

This is a very good hotel at a very good location... The staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are spacious but some parts need renovation... Fairly good but could do with some improvement. The food is good. They have very good swimming pools with kiddie pool as well. Kids had a blast... Highly recommend this hotel...

Enjoyed dinner with singers playing beautiful music was awesome feeling . Hotel staffs were very co-operative. This is very big resort with 3 swimming pools and direct access to beach. I loved this resort and if got chance to visit Kerala again I will stay here..

This is a truly wonderful 5-Star beach resort, having all the amenities. Seeing a sunset by sitting in the shore facing balcony and having tea & snacks is an awesome experience. Both the day, we didn’t miss her (Arabian Sea beauty) in the evening, Life time experience. We had a walk down to the beach even at night, a security was provided by hotel management to ensure the safety of guest. All the three pools were well maintained with proper chlorine cleaning plant. We spend quality time in the pool with family. The rooms were neat and good. Excellent room service, they didn’t say no to any of our request and requirement. Particularly they take good care to my elderly parent’s comfort. But Buggy service was not up to the mark. If one more buggy was there it would have been better for elders. Please improve….. The complimentary breakfast was delicious and one of the best. Restaurant also very good & tasty. Over all its a nice stay @ UDAY SAMUDRA. Thinking of going there once again...
