I had already went to this place years before they were famous, so I thought I will surprise my friends by having food from this place. The restaurant provides 12 pieces of small chicken with 14 chapathi and unlimited lemon juice for 300 The original taste was fabulous , now you can only taste chilly. For this price range this is too costly and for the hype it's not worth it.

This restaurant is located inside Chalai bazaar, so better to park your vehicles inside Gandhi park and walk to the spot. This place is famous for its Kethels chicken fry, served along with chappathi and ghee rice. The chicken smells and tastes really good as it is being friend in coconut oil. You get lemon pickle, gravy and lime juice with this. The dine in space is small but they've maintained it clean.

This place is famous for its kethel chicken fry which is small spring chicken. They have only chapathi ghee rice and chicken fry. And they serve unlimited lemon juice. Ghee rice was good. The chicken fry tasted ok but not upto the expectation. It's just for the experience. Place is neat and clean but limited seats. It's always full so u have to wait to get seat.

The most hyped , overpriced hotel ever. I don't know why people fell over this hotel. 6 coin sized chappathi, gravy and 8 chicken fry pieces (not of hen; it's of "quail" 😞) cost rupees 220 . If you buy a plate of ghee rice, Rs 100 will say "tata" from your pocket 🤑... Extra the above said 8 "quail" fry pieces costs Rs 180. Afterall of you are having water from this restaurant, each glasses cost you Rs 10 each... Each glasses 10 rupees... Totally not recommended... If you got some lottery, enjoy spending the Money .. 2/5

Chicken bones with very less meat is served here along with tasteless chappathi. Literally only bones with less meat you will get. Not sure how they get this small pieces of chicken with no meat at all. Overpriced is still fine if food is worthy. But not here. We didn't get lemon juice it is lemon water. Gravy is also tasteless which is cooked with chicken wastes. No clean washroom No proper seating Over priced Less quantity Serving food is the only thing positive here.

We (myself and my brother) already went to this place years ago , before they were famous . Comparing with spicyness, Kethel's Chicken was spicy at that time but now I feel like zero spicyness . Chicken as usual ( small and tender ). Also good hospitality . If you were wish to come here . Then never come with a car because it's hard to find parking .

Kethels chicken fry is a must try in tvm. It's very spicy and the combination with chapathi , lime juice and lemon pickle is legendary. The service is quick and it's mostly crowded at all times as the seating capacity is very very less.

A bit overrated!!! The best of one so far is the authentic tender chicken fry. Other than this, everything is fine, yet not great, particularly the ghee rice and coin-sized chappathi. The combos are also not worth the price. As the customer crowd grew, the food quality seemed to have decreased.

410 RS for bread sized 7 chapathi and 10-12 small prices of so called Kethal chicken and watery gravy and 2 glasses of lime juice.....!!! I felt like I am literally trapped with the positive reviews from social media and Google. The chicken was tasteless and chilli flakes were spreaded all over it to make it extremely spicy....utter waste gravy...That too they never gave me a bill and no payment method except cash. I wonder how such restaurant is working inside the city without a GST bill. Either these people are bribing the officials or they do a lot of fake tax computations. I won't recommend this restaurant to anyone at all..such a bad food experience.

1 star for the quantity.I would have given 0 or less if that option was there.Ordered through swiggy for 8 piece chicken.we already knew the size of chicken was small but only when we received we realised we need microscope to find meat in the chicken fry.It was all bones you could have called it bone fry.Totally over rated. The taste nothing special.Just like other fries available in Trivandrum. So people who are buying for the first time better watch out.

Located at rahumaniya lane, chalai market, near the muslim mosque. Parking is not actually possible, maybe for 2 wheelers and much harder for 4 wheelers. It is a small place and seating area is also less. The service was very fast and efficient. Had a 8 piece chicken set with chappati. The chicken has a unique taste, and it is well cooked. The chili flakes with the chicken is also very tasty. Chappati was decent, homemade, although a bit small. They also provide free gravy, lime pickle and lime juice, which can be refilled whenever you want. The only issue is the price, which is a bit high for the quantity offered. Overall, this place still offers the same taste they have been offering for decades, but the costs can be reduced a little. Total price - 240 rupees (8 pieces of chicken and 2 sets of chappatis, 1 set has 5 chappatis)

The have a limited number of seats to eat (around 20) and have to wait if you go on peak time. The price doesn't justify the items, the chicken pieces didn't have any flesh or very less, the chappati were too small and the gravy was just okay. The lime juice was good and they did refill as well. IMO one could spend the same amount (It was 220 when I visited) have a good chicken pieces and regular sized roti's.

Tasty food, chicken fried in coconut oil. But a few words of caution: just before stepping in, decide how many chappati and how many pieces of chicken you need to eat. Because as you finish eating they go on refilling and if it is repeated few times bill will escalate to 1000s.

I was there in trivandrum for almost 5 years and had tried the kethels chicken more than 5 times especially from their chala branch. Yesterday I had tried again from the same hotel but the experience is not what i got before. The reason I pointed out is the increase in their number of customers and that impacted in the quality and quantity of the food they are serving. The chicken gravy and the chapathi is not that good now. We can eat many chapathi by only buying the gravy but now it's not like that. More water is added in the gravy hence there is no spicy feeling. Anyway they are still serving their same old traditional kethels chicken fry. If you are going to this hotel, I am suggesting you to only buy the kethels chicken fry by spending an amount of 190rs. I will share their rates and photos with this post for understanding the rates.

I think it's just a hype created. Its an normal chicken fry but pieces seems to be of small chicken. It doesn't add any special taste. Spicy Spicy and Only Spicy. So you will forget what actually chicken Taste's

Food is good, but place is horrible. It’s located in a narrow alley and the place itself is very small for the crowd it attracts. They’ll run out of ghee rice by noon itself, so if you are planning dinner, only option is chapathi. Chicken fry is good not as spicy as old times, but still spicy for anyone to gulp down the lime juice, which is not free/unlimited anymore. Price is pretty on the higher side. You’ll spend at least 210 bucks per person; if you are a small person and not very hungry. On a day you are hungry and average sized, it’s easy to drive it up to 450. Oftentimes there is a wait of more than 20 mins to get a seat, and the bigger your group, the longer the wait would be.

It's a unique hotel only in trivandrum, with mouth watering taste and ambience it's definitely a stand out from the crowd. Tender chicken marinated with a unique blend of spices served along with small chappathi and lemon achar, you will a get handful of lemon juice as well. All in an affordable price. Its sure an one time visit for all

This place is worth visiting once for trying their Kethel's chicken fry which is not so super spicy but super tasty for anyone to ask for a second round. The menu is limited with either chappathi or ghee rice along with chicken fry or liver fry. Liver fry felt average with the sane masala coating. They also serve unlimited lime juice. The place is cobgested and parking will also be an issue since the hotel is inside the market. The price is on the higher side which averages from 250-350 per person.

A Very Nice Experience. The menu is Chicken Fry, Ghee Rice, Wheat bread(Chappathi, Wheat bread), Chicken Gravy, Spice-less lemon pickle, Onion Raitha and Pappad (fryems). One serving of chicken is 8 pieces ( two legs, two hands and four breast pieces). The one and only rice item is Ghee Rice made of pure Basmati rice. Other item is Roti or wheat breads which are cooked without oil free. Only chicken fry available here. The chicken used in this place is specifically bought from Namakkal in Chennai. Ghee used in Ghee rice is in moderate. The spices used here are specially prepared in this place. The spices are not bought from the market. The spice less lime pickle and Onion Salad in curd are super. Only very less oil is used in chicken fry. Chicken pieces are fried in slow cooking method. Courteous service is a speciality. Reception is Good. There is wait here normally. Food is served here in plantain leaves. Sweetened lime juice is another speciality. I am a regular visitor to this place for the last 50 years. For me, this place is Quite Nostalgic.

Food was good. The famous kethel’s chicken is tasty. At the same time bit expensive compared to other restaurants. Also to get access to the restaurant is difficult. Parking is not near

Visited the place at evening.. had just 8 pieces of chicken without chapattis... Probably one of the best chicken fry i have had from trivandum... The masala made of red chillies is just amazing!! It is a must try for all who wanna try out food from trivandum.. parking is a problem as the shop is within the chala market.. also seating capacity is limited which may not be a problem unless you visit during peak hours

Chalai Rahmaniya Kethel Chicken. The authentic one. I had it from their calicut outlet and plamood outlet but none of that matches the original taste. 8 pieces chicken fry, 5 chapatis, gravy, lemon pickle and lemon water is the minimum order. Which costs you 210 rs. Remember this is cash only outlet. Around 20 seats available. Try it once. You will love it.

We were in TVM for just a couple of hours so we decided to have food here. The food was average but they lacked hygiene. Overall, give it a try.

Chicken fry is tasty, but not highly recommended. They dont serve you in a convenient size. Even the small quantity has 8 pieces which will cost you almost 250 rupees per person. Highly overpriced and hyped.

Ok it’s unique. But it’s overpriced without a doubt. Other than chicken fry rest of the items are very normal. It’s just an experience not an everyday restaurant.

Nothing is unlimited here. Good food, mostly spicy chicken. My friend told me that we get unlimited lemonade from here along with food, also saw such comments in some reviews too. But we were charged for additional juice! Not satisfied with that. And check the rates in the menu first! For two of us, it cost Rs.770. In that, they charged us 25Rs for lemonade, judging from their menu.
