We albeit being not too fond of Idlys, have been wanting to try the fabled Ramassery Idly for a long time. We tried it from the ongoing Idly Fest ( till the 5th of October 2022) at KTDC Mascot Hotel. We loved the Flat White Idlys a lot. In fact we thoroughly enjoyed having them with the accompanying extremely tasty Sambar, Coconut Chutney and Podi. The Idly was soft, perfectly textured and was kind of melt in the mouth. The batter was rightly set and that added to the taste as well. The Uzhunnu Vada was really good as well. They had crispy outer with the soft inner filled with carrots, chillies and onions and was a treat to have. The Ghee Kesari was nice too. It had more than enough cashew nuts in them. The Filter Coffee Presented as an Upside down metal glass in the tumbler was piping hot and had great taste as well. The premises were well maintained, the staff were courteous and super friendly. The food was served fast and hot as well. Our Rating - Ramassery Idly - 5/5 - Uzhunnu Vada - 5/5 - Ghee Kesari - 3.5/5 - Filter Coffee - 4/5

Went for Ramassery idly fest. The food served was good with a good ambiance. Ramssery idly, Vada and Filter coffee was very good and tasty. Ghee kesari was so sticky and not up to the mark.

We opted for out door seating. Though the food is tasty and service is good I would say they can do a lot more with their outdoor seating option. It doesn't look inviting and make you spend time there. Price is reasonable for the quality and quantity and there is proper parking space.

They only have buffet option or ala carte option seperately... When they have set up a buffet, ala carte is not available...and buffet dishes are the usual ones we get at other places for the high price they charge...

We reached the hotel at about 4Pm, there was no much dishes, inspite of being a 5 star Hotel. The Chicken cury we got was also not upto the mark. I would not recommend my friends to visit the place unless I get an assurance from them to rectify.

First experience having lunch at this KTDC hotel. Was a good one. We had the Sadya on a banana leaf that was customized. The payasam ( desserts) took the cake among all the dishes . Overall worth the dine with kudos to the staff on their service.

A must-visit for Minions Their main indoor restaurant is now called Swathi. If you have ever wondered what it feels like to live a minion's life, you MUST visit Swathi Restaurant @ Mascot without delay. Hospitality and 5 star service are so 2019. Jet setting into 2020s is this restaurant where you will be made to locate the menu with a mini treasure-hunt that will take you all over the waiter stations and then separate the sticky pages to find the dishes. Nothing like an adrenaline spurt to get the appetite going. Once you have placed the order, you will now have to find a way to drink water. Sure there are glasses but what to fill them with? You notice that there are a few blue-shirt donned stewards flitting about. It isn't enough to just catch their eye. If you make any sudden gestures, they will run off like deer into the forest. Hold their gaze with your own till they are in speaking distance, and then in Malayalam and Malayalam only must you mention your need for vellam. Now repeat this performance 5 times, with each practice session, use kaizen to improve. Then finally pick up the glass and go locate a water filter just before the kitchen entry and fill it up yourself. Service is for the weak. If you thought your food would be here now, you are wrong. You should now get comfortable with all the staff on the floor. If you want to eat today, get on a first name basis with the staff in the next 15 mins. Talk to them, become friends. Get invited to their homes. Act upon the invites coz maybe the food that you ordered is waiting there for you. The Lord works in mysterious ways. After a while, you will either leave or fall down writhing in front of the kitchen floor in hunger. Someone will finally take pity on you and bring the food to your table. Remember, service is for the weak. Serve your own damn food. Who needs plates anyway? Eat right out of the damn bowls. Once you have eaten, work to find your bill. If you came here for a dinner, enjoy the sunrise on your way out and hear the joyous chirp of the birds in the morning welcoming you at the exit of Mascot Hotel. Lived like a true minion, an unforgettable experience.

Its a great place to conduct any kind of events like marriage functions company events and anniversaries etc.

Came for the Ramassery Idli Fest conducted by Mascot hotel from 20-24 October 2023. They had conducted the same fest last year which felt a bit more organised to me than this time. I went twice this time and on the first day of the fest, I was shocked to see how shabby they were running the fest. No proper seating, lot of people to take orders which inturn mixed up our orders. One of the main disadvantage I felt was, they are not showcasing what they have to offer to a customer who walks in for the Idli fest. The whole property felt just barely maintained. The food was tasty and the price was justifiable since it's a 4star property. Even though, it's a 4 star property, they lacked quality and professionalism.

Nice KTDC hotel in Trivandrum

I visited the Dukes hair dressing saloon for a haircut and peducure. Excellent results. One of the oldest in trivandrum. I used to frequent as a teenager. Now a bit dated in decor but quality and service remains the same very high standards. Incredibly cheap compared to the modern versions elsewhere where the service can be more show biz than real quality.

Hotel is good, but supervison during serving food for private function, is must..

Though this is one of the oldest hotels in Kerala, the atmosphere seemed a bit dull. Also, the venue that we had booked (my friend) was a bit smaller than usual. Sound quality can be better too.

Symphony hall is not maintained well and very less parking space

Off late been here for a team dinner.. Visiting the place after a decade.. Nothing much has changed in ambience . But food quality felt below par than how it used to be long back.. Ample parking space.
