It is interesting to know about what is beyond the sky. We could find many interesting things about The Solar Systems, Galaxies etc at this place. They show us a video which we feels like we are travelling through the space. We could feel like we are exploring our solar systems and each and every planet in it. The explanation was very clear though. I think it's worth to visit this place and get the experience.

.The main attraction here is the planetarium with a big 17 metre diameter tilted dome which presents educational show (~30 minutes) on astronomy and related sciences. .The ticket for planetarium costs about Rs 75 for adults and Rs.40 for children .Show time is on 10.30 AM , 12 noon(Eng) , 3PM & 5PM. . There's also a 3D theatre (Rs.25 for adults &15 for children) offers shows with a span of 20 minutes which mainly focus on entertainment to children. .Musical fountain and laser show will start at 7 PM , charges Rs.30 per head.

I visited this place more than 20 years ago when I was in school... There has not been a single element added or maintained. The condition of the whole place is pathetic. Feels like large space and area under utilised and mismanaged at a larger scale. The buildings are not maintained its full of cobwebs and termite. Planetarium not functioning as they say they are maintaining nor is anything functional. Everything is dysfunctional and utter waste of potential resources. I don't know what they inaugurated in the year 2012. And on top of that Tesla coil description has a huge foolishness written on it... It produces corona

I recently visited the Kerala State Science and Technology Museum, and it was a captivating experience. The museum showcases a diverse array of exhibits that beautifully blend education with entertainment. From interactive displays on physics and biology to insightful exhibits on Kerala's technological advancements, the museum offers something for everyone. It's a fantastic place for both children and adults to explore and learn. The staff members are knowledgeable and friendly, always ready to answer questions and engage visitors in discussions about science and technology. The museum's layout is well-designed, making it easy to navigate through different sections and delve deeper into various scientific concepts. Moreover, the museum's commitment to promoting scientific literacy and curiosity is evident throughout. Overall, I highly recommend a visit to the Kerala State Science and Technology Museum. It's an enriching experience that sparks curiosity and inspires learning in a fun and engaging way.

My recent visit to the Kerala Science and Technology Priyadarshani Planetarium left me with mixed feelings. While the planetarium promised an engaging exploration of science, several aspects fell short of expectations. Firstly, the absence of essential items and non-working science experiments was disappointing. It hindered the overall learning experience, leaving visitors with limited opportunities to engage with the exhibits. Maintenance seemed to be a significant issue, as many displays were in a state of disrepair. Hygiene standards were below par, which was quite concerning. The lack of cleanliness in certain areas detracted from the overall enjoyment of the visit. It's crucial for such establishments to prioritize hygiene to ensure a comfortable and safe environment for all visitors. In summary, while the Kerala Science and Technology Priyadarshani Planetarium has the potential to be an informative and enjoyable destination, the current state of missing items, non-functional exhibits, lack of maintenance, and poor hygiene standards dampened the experience. I hope that the management addresses these concerns to enhance the overall quality of the facility for future visitors.

Planetarium (Sky theater) is very good experience. There we have botanical garden and science gallery available. Opened in 1994 to the public, this is one of the most versatile planetariums in the country. The main GM-11 star field projector here can project almost all the constituents of the visible universe. It can also simulate the star-studded night sky over any location on the earth, on any day up to 12,500 years back or 12,500 years into the future. The planetarium will be closed on Mondays. Show timings: 1030 hrs (in Malayalam), 1200 hrs (in English), 1500 hrs (in Malayalam), 1700 hrs (in Malayalam) 3D Show - 1115 hrs Entrance fee: Adults - Rs. 60/- Children between 3 -10 - Rs. 30/-

Priyadarshini Planetarium🌌 attached to the Museum, functioning since 1994 is the ✌first Hybrid Planetarium in India with tilted dome. It is situated 3.3km from 🚈Trivandrum Central Railway Station. It has centrally air-conditioned sky theater, conference hall, sound studio, workshops and can seat around 184 people. It’s a good catch for the ones who are interested in astronomy and the stars🌟 and planets🌏...

I wish I could give 5 stars. If maintained well it could be an interesting place for kids and grown ups alike. Because of the negligence of museum staffs, this place is like a school science exhibition where most of the exhibits dont work. The visitors need to figure out everything by their own. The planetarium is a must see. Its a good experience too. Dont miss it. There is a 3d theatre too. The employees are very prompt is closing the museum at 5 pm.

Planetarium show and the dome theatre is pretty great. You are not allowed to take photos or videos inside the theatre. The science on sphere was pretty informative too. Science Gallery was good. The 3d show has low picture quality, shows useless stuff, room was too hot as well - not worth. Overall, kids would like it a lot and quite some things to learn. Car Parking was available within campus. The queue to booking tickets moves very slowly. Follow the time of the shows (see the photo posted). Might be worth visiting on days where they have the night sky observations. It’s only in Thursdays and Fridays.

Should have been an excellent place for our kids to develop the scientific temperament. The exhibits in science gallery are old and not refreshed to match the advancements. Saw a bunch of students from a neighbouring state banging the exhibits for fun. There was no one to guide them or explain the importance of each item. The sky theatre was a good experience but the show was neither too advanced to satisfy serious minds nor simple for kids to understand. Parking space available. Security staff were courteous and helpful.

Kerala State Science and Technology Museum. This science and technology museum is a self governing body. This was established by the government of Kerala in the year 1984. The Science and technology museum is situated in the heart of city of Thiruvananthapuram Kerala, South India. This science and technology museum is located in PMG Junction, VikasBhavan(PO) Thiruvananthapuram.

Very nice experience. Courteous staff and security. Authorities need to spend a little on maintenance of the items in display at physics demo area. The 3D theatre needs some more investment. New chairs, better air conditioning, sound system etc. Also, some science students from nearby colleges in the city could be roped in as volunteers to explain the different scientific stuff to the student visitors.

In the same compound you find 4 to 5 places to visit. There are 3d shows at planetarium. Behind the museum, there is a garden with kids play area but full of mosquitoes. Medicinal plants are there in herbal garden. Higher secondary and above class students should visit this museum to see the practical demo of textbook concepts.

Great idea, well implemented but hardly any maintenance. The planetarium is the best thing. 3D and 6D exhibits are not worth the time (especially when there are amazing movies around us, maybe this has lost its charm). More than half of the exhibits don't work and are damaged, especially in the electrical gallery. Also, the science park team needs to have a combined ticket for all the attractions there. The cafeteria and toilet services could be improved substantially. Parking is usually available within the premises.

the photos speaks for the place... , Thursday and Friday 6.30pm to 8 if it's clear skies can watch the planets through a telescope. Also a musical fountain every day at 7 pm. Friendly and welcoming staff. The place needs an uplift for many of the exhibits. Many of the exhibits are not working and it's very dusty. The washroom/toilets are horrible and have no hygiene. Even the cafeteria needs better food handling. Outdated lawn movers and gardens need more care and should need garden tools like now good lawn movers, leaf blowers, hedge trimmers etc.

Best place for kids to learn something new related to physics, robotics, mathematics, galaxy, solar system etc. You can visit museums and there will be two special shows in different venues. You should book the tickets in advance and wait for your slot. Kids will love the theatre experience for sure.

Nice place to have a day visit with your kids. There’s surprisingly lot to see. Though many exhibits were not maintained and many scientific models are not working. It would have been brilliant, if those exhibits are working and there they engaged any guide to take the kids to the echelons of Science. The 3D Theatre is not of top notch. However the planetarium show was great with superb facilities. There is a outdoor park for the kids to enjoy their time. A canteen is also functioning in the campus with reasonably good food. Definitively worth a visit, with kids. Monday is Holiday.

Great place for educational purposes. The show is very informative and my kids enjoyed it. Other areas are also good but it will be great if someone explains things to kids. The Mathematics section and robotics section looks abandoned and dusty. Could have taken better care of the place. Ticket rates are reasonable.

The working model of our home planet which shows the different timelines was a unique experience. The real fighter jets displayed were just amazing. The inside of planetarium were full of magics of physics and the magics of solar system. We can enjoy a whole new experience while playing with different working models including a weighing machine that displays our weights in different planets and our moon. The 20 min show of the solar system and galaxy were magical. The theatre mimics the 3D experience in a whole new level. Perfect place to spend time with kids. Will surely satisfy the young minds.Nb:-Cameras are not allowed inside the theatre.

A brilliant place for a day outing for kids. They have a full planetarium visit, 3d theatre, different educational video screening, planetarium movie show, and sound & light show (in the evenings after sunset). The sessions are in mix of English and Malayalam. You may have to enquire about the show and show timings if you want to attend a specific session. We had a pleasant experience with our kid. Much recommended. This facility may not have the scale as ones in Chennai or Kolkata, but it is certainly well maintained and managed. The reception staff is courteous and comfortable to explain matters in Malayalam, English, Tamil and Hindi (may be more but I noticed these languages). The campus offers RO water for visitors and has a clean toilet. They have limited parking space for vehicles.

The planetarium alone is well worth the visit. Add the various galleries for STEM students this becomes a must visit spot during your trip to trivandrum! The only down side is the lack of a snack bar or restaurant which would be a welcome addition after exploring the massive campus and taking in the planetarium show. Highly recommend buying Planetarium tickets in advance and arriving at least 10 minutes before the requested time. Parking was not an issue when we went, the compound itself has ample parking spots.

One of the best Planetarium in Kerala. The dome like theater known as Sky theater is a marvelous experience to watch shows on the advancement of our communications from ancient times. The show currently available in Malayalam and English language. Show timings are 11am, 3pm and 5pm. Apart from planetarium the museum have a 3D show mainly for kids, both the shows are available with tickets. 3D show lasts for 15minutes and Planetarium show for 30 minutes. Planetarium sky theater is a worth try and in my must watch list. A beautiful butterfly garden, cafeteria with drinks and snacks, Toilet facilities, wide area car and bike parking, a medical science museum and star and sky museum also available. The medical equipments in the museum isn't working now and is too old in technology. Sky and star museum still on ok conditions. Best for kids and adults who have an interest in science and communications.

Love the ambience of this place. It have somany replicas of cave paintings, mural arts,... It shows the history of Kerala from Stone age to modern era. The touch enabled interactive machines were good but not everyone was working. It is not crowded. Infact when I went there on a thursday, I was the only visitor. It is worth a visit at just rs.20(for Indians) per person.

Must visit place especially for students. Has a number of artefacts excavated from different parts of the state some original and many are very good replicas. The museum is located opposite to zoo and many a time people ignore this site and opt for zoo and Napier museum instead. The museum itself is located in a building which used to be the residence of the C have Chief Secretary of travancore. I think everyone should find time to visit such sites in order to have a correct understanding of our history . This will also help in removing so many misconceptions that we have of our past.

Keralam – Museum of History and Heritage, located at Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India is a museum that aims to document the history and heritage of Kerala that spans over 3000 years as per available prehistorical and historical evidence . It is a joint venture of Kerala Tourism and the Kerala State Department of Archaeology. The museum is placed within the Park View mansion, near the famous Napier Museum and Thiruvananthapuram Zoo. In order to enable effective content delivery and user interaction, the museum employs modern techniques such as touchscreen terminals to illustrate the exhibits and multimedia systems to render documentary videos. The museum offers several attractions of historic importance, some of the major exhibits include: Iron Age grave goods Ancient Roman Coinage such as the Roman Dinari illustrating the history of ancient maritime trade between Roman Empire and the Chera empire along the Malabar coast (modern day Kerala) two millennia ago Palm-leaf manuscript collection in Malayalam and Sanskrit languages Murals from Pundareekapuram Temple, Kottayam (circa 17th century AD) Neolithic stone tools (celts) Brahma Sculpture (circa 14th century AD) Yoga Narasimha Murthy (circa 14th century AD) Nataraja Sculpture (circa 16th century AD)

The Priyadarshini Planetarium in Trivandrum is quiet informative and interesting place. We attended a 3D show here and found it very good. The various models though need some maintenance and upkeep to keep them in viewing condition for the visitors here.Very happy to note that such an awesome place is available here. The kids had a real fun time knowing the concepts and happenings in the field of astronomy.

It's a planetarium and museum. Fun for whole family. Visited as kid during my school days as well with my kids. Needs some maintenance on the exhibits. Some new exhibits as well. The shows are good. Science on sphere is the new show. The planetarium show is bit old. There's a park nearby .

One of the must hang spot in trivandrum suitable for all age groups. Parking is free here, they have a entrance fee and also provide space for the people to hang around. Planitorium, science gallary and a garden is open here for visitors. Covid restrictions might affect here. Good to get in phone before you plan the visit

It exhibits space, maths, physics topics. There is a 3d show which look like a gimmick. The museum also consists of a small childrens park. Overall a good space to spend 2-3 hours

A must hangout place for both adults and kids in Trivandrum. But let me warn you, it is poorly maintained. The idea of this museum was to inculcate interest in science for people in any age, but the fact is that most of the exhibits don't even work. The place is too dusty and I am sure that the last cleaning was done atleast 2-3 months ago. The place is not Air-conditioned, and also the ventilation of the area is not upto mark. The 3D show is just of average quality. But above all that I felt that the staff over there were too welcoming, they cleared the doubts we had and always assisted us in case of any issues. Overall, if well maintained, this place would be a gem, no doubt at all.

The achievements and results in the field of scientific and scientific research are organized so that the school, college and students can understand the galleries.... Sky theater with aerial views.... The science park is in a state of necessity.

  • 5/5 Semeel 1 year ago on Google
Its a truly unique and inspiring experience. Especially the theatre which gives the viewers a 360-degree view of the stars and planets. The show itself is usually a combination of live narration, video projections, and special effects that transport viewers to other worlds and galaxies. One of the best things about a planetarium show is that it's a great activity for people of all ages. Whether you're a curious kid, an amateur astronomer, or simply someone who loves a good show, you're sure to be impressed by the stunning visuals and informative narration. Don't miss out on the opportunity to explore the wonders of the universe!🫡👍🏼

I recently visited the Kerala State Science & Technology Museum & Priyadarsini Planetarium in Trivandrum and overall, I had an average experience. The museum and planetarium have a lot of interesting exhibits and shows that are worth seeing. However, there were a few areas that could be improved. Firstly, indoor rooms should be fitted with Air condition, which made it quite uncomfortable. Additionally, I noticed that some of the rooms were a bit dusty and could use some cleaning. The garden and park outside were also not maintained very well. While the ticket price was reasonable, I do think it could be lowered slightly. The timing of the shows was a little confusing, and I think better signage would be helpful for visitors. Lastly, I felt that the museum and planetarium could be better organized. Overall, I enjoyed my visit and would recommend it to others, but I hope these issues are addressed in the future."

Experience was not that great as the video quality of the planetarium was below par, same goes with the 3d show aswell, screen and video quality substandard 👎 but the museum was a wonderful experience as we get alot of knowledge👌
