This is a place where locals are usually filled. You can see fishermen resting, playing cards and even boozing. The travelers are very less here. But this is a good place to catch the sunset. The bridge is under construction and it will be up in few days. There's a church opposite to here and it's really beautiful

Beach is good, the pier is not open to public due damage, it needs to be repaired at the earliest without letting it crash. The beach is not very clean, keep that in mind.

The place is nice, mostly filled with fish boats and not a busy beach. BUT THE PLACE IS FULL OF TRASH, TRASH FROM HOME AND CHICKEN MEAT SHOP WAS ALL OVER THE BEACH.

It's not a beach. No entry to main beach. There is a police to hold you outside. Path to inside sea is damaged and no sign of re construction.

Wanted to climb and walk the Pier till the end, but since the foundation is weak, the security folks politely refused. Still an awesome view. Walked the stretch of the beach and enjoyed the ambience. The fishermen were more than willing to talk about their daily life. I wish the authorities speed up the maintenance of the Pier as it will help the fishermen with unloading from boats I would recommend those coming from the airport to park the vehicle, get down and enjoy the Pier view and the beach.

It's a good clean public place. Went there in the morning and saw fresh fish market. A pier is there but normal public was not allowed on it.

Valiathura Beach is located in Thiruvananthapuram. It's a nice beach to enjoy the beauty of sunset as well as to see the boat fishing procedure. There is a bridge extending towards the sea which is in a danger condition. That's the main attraction. The entry to rhis bridge is reatricted now. You can also see a small fort nearby and lot of boats and fisherman.

Good place for a peaceful outing. Not a crowded place. There is a beautiful sea bridge, which is now damaged and entry is not allowed. Good riding destination around city for pedellars. Not as good as Sanghumukham beach, but not crowded. As sanghumukham is cleaned up by the sea, this is a good alternative.

This beach is definitely a another level. The view is just beyond awesome. Cliff makes this place a ultimate one. Less crowded mostly foreigners. Clear beach 🏖 good for sun tan time. Plenty of shops and parking space.🤩

The pier/bridge is closed for public. There were few on it on the day I visited (25th Sept) but I didn't dare enough. Had all the boats on the shore with the fishermen resting. The Sea was bit rough so I only spent at the beach taking pictures. The smell of the fish is something one needs to get used to. I went in the afternoon so it was pretty hot as well but the view of the sea with those waves was worth the visit and I totally recommend this beach for anyone to visit. Probably during the evening unlike me because I had lot of other places to cross off from my list.

Location very nice. But maintenance is not good, there is lot of trash at few places in the beach. Here Depth of the water is little higher than the other beaches I have visited. Parents little careful when you will go with your Children's.

Pretty rush in the morning and evening, but one of the finest beach to hangout.

Not good as shamghumukmham beach, But it's non crowded. It have a long sea bridge(now under renovation-entry is prohibited). That's the main attraction. Beach is narrow, no rest room, car parking is little difficult some times , okay for spending sometime in evening

It's my hometown. My birthplace. I'm so worried that the beach is washed away for each monsoon and this wonderful place already lost its century old bridge that has a story to tell to its visitors. The sea bridge is closed for outsiders and locals. Only fishermen's have the privilege to access. There is a small beach now. Best time to visit here is in the evenings to see the awesome sunset.

  • 5/5 ALI FATHIMA N. 11 months ago on Google
The Valiyathura beach was famous for the bridge aka 'kadalpaalam' but now people aren't allowed to use that as it's structurally unsound. However, there's a small fish market next to it where you can get fresh catch. Better to go during mornings. There is a church next to it and the famous Sangumukam beach and Beemapally mosque is also a few mins away from here.

Heavily polluted beach. People were drinking alcohol in public. Felt insecure after a while. No much space. Attitude of people were not welcoming

As far as sea view is concerned it is good. But, not a proper beach. The waves were quite high and mesmerizing. But, fisherman and boats you will find. 1 km away is another beach. Go there if you want a clean beach feel (shanghumugham beach).

In the past (10 years ago), I had good memories with the Pier. But it is closed due to structural problems. I request localities to neatly maintain the place. Youngsters should educate elderly people around. Always you can't expect nature to clean your surroundings. Please do your part. I dream for a Valiathura beach to become a local attraction in coming years.

The bridge is not accessible. So it's not the best tourist spot. The government should take some action to make this place beautiful for tourists. And yes, u can use the beach just for refreshment

This place is actually and primarily for fisherman. They sell various types of fishes. You can approach here if you want fresh seafood. Best time to buy fishes is in the morning. This is not a tourist place by the way. You can walk this place as a local fish market not as a tourist place. There is a church in its opposite site, that can be visited. Night time is not been preferred to walk in. Maximum time this place is occupied by local fisherman as a part of fish market.

sunset hangout place. Bridge, Beach and Sea provides beautiful view. Local fish market also nearby where fresh fish is selling by natives. Valiyathura church and port trust directorate are nearby.

  • 5/5 Charles B. 2 years ago on Google
The fish market @ the beach sells fresh daily catch , also fishes of different variety are available. If you want bulk quantities you have an option to directly participate in the auction. In case you want only small quantity you can buy fresh catch from the fish monger's.
