“4.5”:
After
I
went
back
to
MKC
a
second
time,
my
phone
was
fine
for
another
approximately
36
hour.
However,
the
screen
issues
kept
reoccurring
then
finally
stopped
working
altogether
so
I
took
my
phone
to
a
different
shop
today.
Turns
out
my
suspicions
were
correct:
opening
the
phone
was
the
initial
cause
of
damage.
In
opening
the
casing,
the
shop
had
damaged
the
seal
between
the
screen
and
the
rest
of
the
phone,
consequently
making
it
easier
for
water
to
get
in.
In
all
fairness
to
MKC,
if
it’s
true
they
had
to
open
my
phone
to
repair
the
camera
case
(apparently
other
stores
have
techniques
that
could’ve
avoided
this
route)
then
there
was
no
way
they
could
have
restored
the
seal
to
its
original
condition.
However,
the
shop
never
warned
me
about
that
consequence,
and
I
didn’t
take
precautions,
which
resulted
in
further
damage
and
further
repairs.
One
star
off
since
their
technique
is
not
the
best.
Another
star
off
for
not
properly
informing
customers
of
all
consequences
of
repairs.
Original
review:
4.5
if
it
were
possible.
Needed
two
camera
covers
(on
the
back
of
the
phone)
replaced.
MKC
kept
their
promises:
the
lenses
were
replaced
within
an
hour
and
they
worked
perfectly.
However:
~36
hours
after
I
left
the
store,
the
bottom
left
corner
of
my
phone
screen
lifted
out
of
the
case
by
about
a
millimeter
and
that
messed
up
the
touch
screen;
I
had
an
alphanumeric
passcode
so
once
I
couldn’t
tap
p,
l,
and
m,
(or
the
delete
button)
I
was
effectively
locked
out
of
my
phone.
Could
I
have
done
something
to
‘pop’
the
screen
out?
Sure.
But
I’ve
owned
an
iPhone
since
the
first
model
came
out
and
never
had
a
touch
screen
issue;
I
find
it
hard
to
believe
that
the
first
time
I’ve
ever
had
a
screen
“pop
out”
in
over
a
decade
of
owning
iPhones
has
nothing
to
do
with
the
fact
that
said
phone
had
been
opened
up
less
than
36
hours
ago
to
access
the
camera
casing.
In
MKC’s
favor,
they
immediately
agreed
to
take
a
look
at
my
phone
and
fix
whatever
was
wrong
with
the
screen.
Furthermore,
since
I’d
removed
the
(purchased
after
initial
repair)
screen
protector
thinking
that
it
may
have
been
affecting
the
sensor
(there’d
been
two
small
bubbles),
MKC
replaced
the
screen
protector
for
free.
Then
again,
taking
off
the
screen
a
couple
times
has
resulted
in
tool
marks
along
the
metal
rim
of
the
phone—nothing
immediately
visible,
but
easily
noticed
by
running
a
finger
along
the
edge.
5
stars
for
the
camera
repair
and
being
willing
to
fix
a
problem
they
could
have
claimed
was
unrelated.
However,
unless
provided
with
definitive
proof
otherwise
(at
which
time
I’ll
edit
this
review),
I
find
it
difficult
to
believe
the
initial
repair
had
nothing
to
do
with
the
subsequent
screen
problem—which
led
to
extra
tool
marks
on
my
phone.
