I have been a loyal customer with 1001 Optical since 2019. The staff here are very nice, easy-going and helpful. I highly recommend the optometrist Nell. I have been seeing him for my eye checks since he was working in Northland shopping center, then in Doncaster shopping center and now the Emporium. He is the most responsible optometrist I have ever seen so far with excellent expertise. For every visit, I got the services beyond my expectation. Highly recommend Dr Kaixin Huang if you need any spectacles related help, who is excellent in communicating with patients, really gentle and kind when performing eye tests, able to calm nervous patients down, and provide precise results. Also, love the Lindberg frames recommended by Dr Huang, which come with both stylish and durability, the design is thin and feel weightless when you put on, it is the brand worth to have in regards to spectacles.

I recently completed my eye appointment and bought new glasses from this shop and I can tell you it’s been such a pleasant experience. The people who work there were very helpful, honest and not pushy. They helped me find good glasses by giving me options, providing discounts but in the end let me choose which one I liked. The optometrist, Son, was very thorough when he did my eye test and explained clearly what is happening with my eye. I also wanted to try wearing contact lenses and he happily booked me in for fitting. Several weeks after the contact lenses fitting/trial, I went back to the shop and told him that I found it really challenging to put the lenses myself that I ended up damaging some of them. He understood and gave me new ones for free so I can try again. It was such a good gesture. I will definitely return and maybe get those Thom Browne glasses next year 😉

Wow experience from stepping in to walk out the door. Vivian is very attentive and assisted me in explaining the different type of glasses/ frames. Without her advice I probably spend hours in the shop. Son has taken his time explaining what happened to me eyes and do extra checks for me. The level of care he has given is more than just transactional. They are helpful, I feel very comfortable and the experience is pleasant. Over 16 years of getting glasses this is the shop I would come back to for any of my opto needs.

After an unfortunate incident the left ear of my frame broke off. I started searching for a new frame. I found 1001 online and they had stock. During a call where I was very friendly assisted we confirmed when I could pick the frame up. Upon arrival I meet with two friendly people assisting to get the frame I needed and swopped the lenses over in no time. What a pleasure. I had time to look around and will definitely support them in future with our optometry needs. I highly recommend this team!

It was a fantastic experience! Kaixin Huang, the optometrist performed an eye examination for me and she was very professional. She even noticed that it was my birthday today, which was incredibly thoughtful. The manager Steve helped me find the perfect pair of custom-made Lindberg glasses. The whole process, from the eye examination to leaving the store, took about two hours, and they both demonstrated patience. I will recommend this store to my relatives and friends.

I was looking for new spectacles and finally found the right fit for me at 1001 Optical. I was initially hesitant between single vision distance or bifocal lenses. After some discussion of the pro’s n cons I opted for the bifocal lenses and I must say I couldn’t be happier. My world looks sharp and the lenses are top quality. Staff with encyclopedic knowledge of their products, polite, patient and thoughtful. I recently made a pair of multifocal a few days before the 4th Covid lockdown in Melbourne. I thought I will have to wait for the lockdown to be lifted before I can get my spectacles. So, I really appreciate it when I received a call one afternoon that my spectacles were ready for collection during the lockdown. I have very high short sightedness, and so, require the very lightest of spectacle frame. Steve was great in helping me choose one, and while doing so, demonstrated a fountain of knowledge of the different manufacturer of frames.
