Our stay at Sea Castle Beach was nothing short of wonderful. Francis and Jacqueline are lovely people and superb hosts; they will do anything possible to make your stay memorable and the amount of love and attention we received was completely unsurpassed. The room is well decorated, clean and comfortable. The bed is large and, although we didn't see a single mosquito during our stay, a tasteful net is provided. The bathroom is clean and hot water is available at the flick of a switch. We were given a WiFi router to use for our stay and told "there is loads of data, please, us it!" - well, we didn't have a chance as we were so happily busy! Jacqueline is one of the most accomplished cooks I have had the pleasure of meeting and she served us delicious, home-cooked Keralan dishes each day. The food was made with local ingredients and was both delicious and healthy-feeling; starting each day with such an amazing breakfast was a real treat. We were given local fruits (who knew so many types of banana existed?!) and Francis brought us beer in the evenings. We ate on the veranda, a beautiful spot overlooking the ocean with unobstructed views. One day we were treated to a pair of dolphins that swam past. The fishermen come and go throughout the day and it is a joy to watch them in their boats. There is a small rooftop terrace that can be used for sunbathing or yoga. It is a joy to practice the latter there, overlooked only by the coconut palms and the birds. Also, last but not least, Francis drives a rickshaw and has been taking tourists off the beaten track for years! He took us on a beautiful backwater tour during our stay, and to several temple celebrations (with elephants and Keralan art forms). We were the only travellers in sight! I cannot recommend this guest house highly enough. Come for the food, the peace, the experiences and the company.

Simply amazingly a home away from home... With sunset beach... And a loving family with kindest hearts as host! Need I say more?

Francis and Jacqueline and their lovely daughters were excellent hosts. The room was extremely comfortable, clean and well decorated, with a bathroom, terrace with chairs to enjoy the sea view, and a rooftop perfect for watching the sunrise and sunset, seeing the fishermen go out at morning and night and practising yoga! Situated right on the beach this homestay is idyllic. Jacqueline cooks the most delicious traditional Keralan food and makes amazing cardomom tea, and Francis will take you to many special places. During our stay we had a backwater tour at Munroe island, attended a temple festival, explored Kollam, saw a Kathakali performance at a nearby temple and even borrowed Francis's scooter to visit Varkala. They will go out of their way to make sure you have everything you need and make the most of your visit. Such a pleasure to stay here and would recommend to anyone visiting Kerala!

Nice location and ambiance, but service not up to the mark

I would definitely rate this place 10 on 10 for everything it provided us.. jus 20mts from the beach is jus wonderful.. delicious food , hygiene environment , friendly and caring owners left no stone unturned to make us feel special and comfortable..it is the perfect place for the holidays .. our host Francis and Jacquline were the best and also to mention their cute little children.. had a wonderful experience in this home stay.. lots of love to Francis and family 😊
