Pretty good American food. Though it doesn't compare to the real deal. This place is good however as it is quite hard to get a lot of what they serve here anywhere else. The food ranges from average to great. Their desserts are pretty spot on, try the cinnamon buns or pumpkin pie, these are pretty great. When I was there I had their burgers and ruben sandwich and I gotta say, they were super bland and pretty dry. I had to use lots of condiments which is a shame. Fries are pretty good, while sweet potatoe fries are tragically bad. Decor is very nice and captures the American diner look with a neon twist, decor is nice as well. Service is good with staff speaking fluent English and check in with you which is nice. Be prepared to pay, it's not cheap by Vietnam standards. Menu items do not include VAT and they also charge an extra 5% for service which I think is getting a little greedy considering the premium prices they charge for bland mains and admittedly tasty desserts. If you want a burger and don't need all the novelty, Chuck's burger right next door is better value and superior quality. If you want the American diner vibe and you need to add to your Instagram reel, Eddies works just fine.

A Culinary Delight in Saigon: Eddie's New York Deli & D1ner Impresses Rating: ★★★★★ Eddie's New York Deli & D1ner, nestled in the heart of District 1, Saigon, is a culinary gem that effortlessly combines the flavors of the Big Apple with the vibrant energy of Vietnam. From the moment we stepped through the door, we were captivated by the inviting atmosphere, attentive staff, and, most importantly, the mouthwatering menu. Our dining experience began with an exploration of the diverse drink selection, and we were not disappointed. The milkshake, in particular, stood out as one of the best we've ever had. Its rich and creamy texture was the perfect complement to the warm ambiance, setting the tone for an indulgent meal. The menu offered a tempting array of options, but we opted for the Fried Chicken and the Burger, and it proved to be an excellent choice. The Fried Chicken was perfectly crispy on the outside, revealing succulent and flavorful meat on the inside. The burger, a testament to culinary craftsmanship, boasted a juicy patty with just the right balance of toppings, leaving our taste buds in awe. Beyond the culinary delights, Eddie's excelled in creating a welcoming environment. The ambiance was a tasteful fusion of New York sophistication and Saigon's vibrant energy. The decor exuded a sense of urban coolness, making it an ideal spot for both casual outings and special occasions. Equally noteworthy was the staff's hospitality. The service was impeccable, with each member of the team displaying genuine warmth and attentiveness. They were more than willing to provide recommendations and cater to our preferences, enhancing the overall dining experience.

    - Very American from decorations to menus. The vibe is great when you can sit by the bar or on tables. The decorations are very colourful and eye-catching. - We usually come here to order Chinese wok foods and cinnamon buns, they have they best milkshakes in Saigon too. - The prices are reasonable with great quality. You can also order on Grab or other online platforms.

Eddie's offers an authentic slice of American cuisine, right down to the checkered flooring tiles that add a delightful retro touch. The attention to detail is evident in every corner. From the tasteful decor to the vibrant colors adorning the walls, everything about Eddie's screams American. But what truly sets Eddie's apart is the heartwarming hospitality. The staff here exudes genuine warmth, attentiveness, and a passion for what they do. They were more than willing to provide recommendations, cater to our preferences, and ensure that our dining experience was nothing short of perfect. They even gave me free strawberry sauce for my cheesecake after my original apple pie order was unable to be fulfilled. Now, let's talk about the food! We ordered the Southern Fried Chicken Breakfast Plate - and boy, were we in for a treat! The chicken was succulent and crispy, perfectly paired with the rosti and cheesy taste that melted in our mouths. Every taste was full of delicious gluttony. Eddie's was a genuine delight for me and I highly recommend anyone wishing to try American food in Ho Chi Minh to try them out.

Top tier American style restaurant. Will definitely visit again for a lunch or dinner, but desserts were enough for us to give it 5 stars. Service was impeccable, food was great (portions are American portions, quite big) and the atmosphere amazing. Please give it a visit, it's worth it!

AMAZING FOOD AND EXPERIENCE!!!!! The portions were pretty big and the service was great! Nam was such a great waiter and great at explaining everything on the menu. The best dish for me was the chick n biscuits where the white sauce paired was amazing! The omelette we had was ‘the cure’ the beef con carne inside was so well done and flavourful if you ask me 🥰 the eggs Ben was nice as well and the best part of all? Coffee was refillable and ambience was so nice

Nice American dinner in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City. I had the Ruben with corned Beef (should have tried the pastrami) and it was very nice. I do prefer what people in Montreal call “smoked meat” but it was a nice sandwich. Do note that it could be busy. I was alone and came an evening around 8pm. I had the last place available at the bar.

I’ve been craving a good omelet. They have traditional American diner food. I especially appreciate the bottomless coffee! The small cup of traditional Vietnamese coffee just isn’t enough for me. The food was good. The service was excellent. I will be back again!

Excellent breakfast and service, great American style food, give your taste buds a good experience of western food. Restaurant is nicely modelled on an American dinner. Staff are very pleasant and helpful, have a good grasp of English as well, come give it a try you won't be disappointed.

Ok, so I’m very impressed with this western style restaurant. Great diner vibes, reminds me of the ones in the states. The servers need to be complimented on their perfect English, with little to no accent. They explained the menus clearly, checked if we enjoyed the food. Got the large chicken burrito, with bottomless diner coffee. Great size, very tasty and loved the salsa and sour cream. (Side note great prices for western styled food) Overall. 5/5 experience. Thanks

I’ve come to Eddie’s twice and my experiences were truly amazing. Their milkshakes were all I could ever ask for, and other dishes were super scrumptious as well. I ordered a cinnamon bun to go (didn’t take any pics tho) and I couldn’t imagine it getting any better 🥹 Also I love how the staff here are young yet so professional and hospitable. I highly recommend Eddie’s to anyone craving for authentically American food 🥰

By far the best Chicken Parmesan I have had in Vietnam. Better than back in the US. Additionally, veggie burger is a good choice for vegans. French fries and an Oreo shake to top things off. Such awesome hospitality and food. Do not miss this place!!!!! We will definitely be back.

My American expat friend recommended this place to me. I totally can understand why he love this. The burger reminds me my time in New York. The bun is fresh and tasty like a brioche. The price isn’t too expensive too. It is a quality burger; Somemore the waitress (the long hair, bespectacled brace girl) speaks perfect English. If you love Elvis Presley era, this is a rock and roll place for you.

Just passing and asked some patrons who were just leaving, what it was like.., great food, great portions and fabulous milkshakes. If there’s a downside, it’s too hard to choose from the great menu! A Reuben sandwich for my other half and a cheese burger upgraded to the Californian with a chocolate shake!! Well we were not disappointed… the shake is thick rich and chocolaty! My burger arrived with the meat cooked medium rare, just the way a burger should be, with fresh lettuce, onions, tomatoes and pickles. Just the right amount of mustard and ketchup topped it all off! The Reuben was laden with tender brisket, cheese and sauerkraut on lightly toasted rye! If you’re in downtown Saigon HCMC, do yourself a favour and stop by for what I rated, one of the best burgers I had ever eaten!

First class restaurant. Fun, lovely staff, great atmosphere, delicious food and good deals. Hot dogs were good, I had the fried chicken with fries and coleslaw. Two massive chicken breasts cooked from fresh. Hubby had to help me finish it as the portion size was so big! 3 separate menus... Regular, vegetarian and American Chinese style. What a great idea! Do yourself a favour and get down here fast!

I can't say enough good things about Eddie's New York Deli & Diner in District 1! Seriously, the food here is top-notch, but what really blew me away was the service. From the moment I walked in, I felt like family. The staff is so friendly and attentive. And the food? Oh my goodness, it's absolutely delicious! Whether you're in the mood for a classic deli sandwich or a hearty diner meal, Eddie's has got you covered. Five stars all the way!

Felt like I was in America! Decor was on point, classic American music was a nice touch, staff are super friendly and the portions were fit for any American. Lots of brunch options, we had the traditional breakfast and a breakfast burrito. The burrito was incredible! Traditional breakfast was ok, how you'd expect a breakfast.

Get to know this place from YouTube. And I have always wanted to give it a try and boy, it doesn't disappoint me at all. You can really taste the American breakfast in their food. Crunchy bacon, cheesy mac-n-cheese, juicy burger and really hearthy pancakes. Too bad I'm on a tight sugar diet I didn't get to try their famous milk shakes.

Ah, this place is really cool, and the eats are second to none! Love the food, the atmosphere, and classic tunes playing. Every time I come here, it's like a journey back in time. On the most recent visit, Nancy was the server, and she was great! When in Saigon, you gotta visit Eddie's.

I haven’t even eaten yet but as an American traveling for a while through this part of the world it’s so refreshing to enter such a perfectly recreated Americana vibe down to the bar seats and the classic music. I am smitten by this place and can’t wait to dive into my pastrami burger. UPDATE: everything is awesome the burger is great and the vibe here is almost emotional - if you are from America and missing the Americana vibe definitely visit!

Food was good. If you have a large party, they will seat you upstairs, so if you have people who can't climb steps, that could be a deal-breaker. Service is fantastic. My peanut butter milkshake was the star of the show! Did I mention they have real ketchup?! Edit: had to go back for breakfast. All I can say is amazing. Better than most places back in the US! Fresh orange juice, great coffee! CRISPY BACON!!! Go here if you're missing an American breakfast!

Eddie's is probably the most friendly and memorable dining experience I've ever had. Brad and the staff are incredibly kind and passionate about making sure you get exactly what you want. They took the time to get to know us and help us choose the perfect meal for ourselves. They also have an entire vegetarian menu (Shelley's), which is what we ordered from. Everything was absolutely delicious. I've lived here almost 4 years and I can't believe I didn't come here sooner. I'll be back, many, many times!

This is not a diner in the states, so let’s start there. I give some leeway understanding that. The 1/2 lb wagyu bacon burger was acceptable, probably above average for Vietnam. The fries were as expected. Chili was nice on the fries. Atmosphere was great. Also nice getting a coke in a nice tall glass.

Ambiance: 10/10 - Colorful first floor, really makes you feel like you are in US Food Quality: 9/10 - Breakfast items have been very consistent every visit. Dinner items could be better in terms of seasoning but I prefer eating their breakfast and chinese American dishes more. Service: 9/10 - Attentive and friendly staff. They know their stuff. Value - 8/10 - Good value for breakfast menu, chinese american food could be on pricey side for the amount you are getting. Otherwise, most portions are very generous Cleanliness: 9/10 - Well maintained and very clean Overall Score: 45/50 Location - 9/10 - Limited parking (bike) but Eddie's is very accessible. Menu Variety: 10/10 - Breakfast, sandwiches, burgers, steak, pasta, soup, asian stir fry, they have it all. Superb variety. Bathroom: 8/10 - Clean Noise: 8/10 - You come here to have fun and to relive nostalgia, not to have a business meeting. Space: 9/10 - Limited booths but those are the comfiest. You should reserve those seats ahead on busy days. Final score: 89/100 I have been here many times. Good place for every time of the day and food is very consistent. The menu variety will astound you. The service has always been great. If you miss the land of the free, this is the place.

The food during breakfast was passable. Need to come back and try other things on the menu. I would suggest you skip the biscuits and gravy and the nachos. The atmosphere is dead on to American style 50's diner feel. So if you are a local and haven't traveled to America then try to place for ambiance. 2nd time for breakfast....nothing changed on quality of food for breakfast. McDonald's is better choice.

I came for their turkey dinner! It was volume-y, tender turkey white meats, delicious creamy green beans, buttered corn, homemade cranberry sauce, and thick flavorful dark gravy. The stuffing was a bit big in cuts, too “bread”y, too soft, not much innards but when soaked in gravy it was all you wanna put in your mouth. My spoonful was meat, topped with cranberry sauce, drizzle gravy over and scrape across stuffing. Satisfaction!!! I would’ve appreciated if they put a bit of dark meats, as some of us are big fans of dark meats, Asians mostly are. 😆 Maybe they did put because I did see some chunkier pieces but they were not dark meats as they were slightly hard. The pumpkin pie was a bit disappointing it didn’t taste like homemade, more like store bought from a convenient store, because the bottom crust was either uncooked or it was store bought (frozen and thawed). Pumpkin was not creamy, it wasn’t even thick it was HARD. The Bloody Mary they put too much Worcestershire, you only need a few drops tbh and more Tabasco and freshly grounded pepper would have been perfect. But then I could add those myself as there were Tabasco bottles and s&p. The pickled cucumber was yummmmmm great overall! I enjoyed the Bloody Mary after I spiced it up myself😆 After the thanksgiving weekend, they will continue their turkey dinners for just 299k (smaller portion) for dine in and deliver. Ours was 499k pp I think. Definitely want to come back for their other hearty dishes! Shelley’s is their all day breakfast menu which looks quite blood clotting and it’s the owner’s mother’s name, how sweet🥰 I’m a Shelley too😆 Five thumbs up overall. Great American homey comfort food in town!!

I’ve been staying in HCM since August and its just now that I’ve craved for a good American burger and pasta. I honestly didn’t know such place exist. I grab my phone went to my browser and just randomly checked for food. And when I did saw the place it immediately satisfied my craving just by looking at the pictures of the menu and the attached images in the review section. My sister is with me so I asked her to come with me. From the time we got in everyone was greeting us with a smile of their face, and the diner just wow! Reminds you of those 1950s diner you see only in movies. The customer service was superb, the foods is scrumptious and vibe is just perfect. If you are looking for a good American place for food in HCM D1, don’t skip this place. The word perfect is not enough to sum up the satisfaction we had with the food and everything. Definitely coming back here! Shout out to Lucas who’ve been conversing with us and giving us some history about the place. Great staff, great food! Real American style.

Great savory food, good portion and somewhat affordable price. Cool atmosphere with some music. Milkshakes are delicious. (Except the Brownies can be better, the texture’s a bit too liquid-ish) P.S. amazing service from ms. Nicotine!

Meal was exactly what I wanted, all American breakfast that I couldn't finish due to the amount. Also, I don't even like breakfast burritos, but their chicken one is so good. You can add extra ingredients (or booze!) to the smoothie flavors as well, which was a blessing. Can't recommend enough if you miss home because the atmosphere was incredible, couldn't even tell I was in Vietnam.

  • 5/5 Dhani H. 7 months ago on Google
This place is exactly as advertised - great food, generous portions, very friendly and competent staff. I had breakfast and bottomless coffee, but gonna come back for a burger and shake - they look incredible. Think this will be my new brunch place in Saigon.

One of the rare places that hit the spot all taste, value and service. Ordered a barnyard skillet and wagyu burger. First thing I have to state is the flavours are really uncomplicated, in a good way. The burger was straightforward without any frills, but the patty was good. The onion rings were lightly battered, perfect and not so heavy on the stomach. The barnyard skillet chicken cutlet was piping hot for a long time and the mushroom sauce was a great accompaniment. The strawberry milkshake was thick, creamy and sweet, abit too sweet for me but I think this is how it should be. I do wish they have a 2 portion cup sampler where you can try 2 smaller portions to decide which you want. Service was excellent. One of the best I had in Vietnam for the past 10 years I have been coming here. They have a vegetarian menu, an American Chinese menu and their standard menu. I will be back for more. Thank you guys!

Typical American style burger joint. A vibe of American retro with burger, root beer and float. They also have standup comedy every Thursday night but mostly for tourists. Update: I rated 3 stars before but to be fair it’s due to the disappointed standup comedy show 🙂 Just because it’s for tourists, it doesn’t mean it has to be bad. If you have seen How to become a Parisian in 1 hour in Paris you would understand what I mean. Therefore I revised for 4 stars. The services is great, very attentive and most staff can converse fluent in English and Vietnamese (we haven’t tried other languages). Good place to find root beer in town. The food / burger is not bad but I had better. Recommended if you are craving for an American retro vibe.

The last place we expected to call our ''home restaurant'' on our visit to Ho Chi Minh City was an American diner, but Eddie's turned out to be just what we needed. We came here for breakfast because the website mentioned salads, which is what we were looking for (along with good coffee and pancakes for the kids). The salad turned out to be the highlight of the meal, a HUGE plate with an abundance of fresh veggies, which again, is the last thing I expected to see in an American diner. Overall, the quality and quantity of the food was more than satisfying, the price was really good, and the service was flawless. The second time we came, they already remembered us and greeted us like old customers. In summary: love this place, try the Greek salad 😃

I had a good experience at Eddie's. The food here has a larger serving size than I thought. I ordered fried rice, even though the staff informed me in advance, the rice really surprised me 😅. But most importantly, the food is delicious. the fried rice tasted good and I especially liked the fries and the orange juice, the oranges were very fresh. Also I tried a strawberry milkshake which, although a bit sweet for me, was worth ordering. The staffs are very enthusiasm and friendly. Classic American space.

Found Eddie's after a walk around the area and needing some food. We love american style diners and this one doesn't disappoint. Very authentic from the decor to the seating. We ordered shakes for the kids which were AMAZING! We order hotdogs and fried chicken for food. The hotdogs came in about 5 mins, but the chicken took 30 mins longer. Its understandable that fresh cooked fried chicken takes a little longer to cook, but the other 3 people had long finished before it arrived and the final person was left waiting. The food quality was good, but perhaps not quite worth the cost. Overall a good experience because the staff were so friendly and kind, and the surroundings were fantastic, but the food quality could definitely be improved for the price.

Great atmosphere and music. Food in big servings. Affordable price. Staffs are awesome with great language skills. Hash browns are quite oily though. Overall, nice place to dine. Milkshake are a MUST-TRY.

Never disappointed. Love their thick classic milkshakes. Reuben corn beef sandwich with onion rings is superb, Their staff are always very welcoming and nice. One of my go-to stops in Ho Chi Minh City.

The American breakfast preparation did not impress me much. I don't seems to enjoy it pretty much. But the egg benedict with spinach tatsed good indeed. The black coffee was watery instead. There are other places can offer better quality compare with the price tag over eddies eatery.

  • 4/5 Trang N. 10 months ago on Google
The cinnamon roll and milkshake are super good, but I don’t really enjoy the brownie, I wish it had a lighter texture. The chicken parmesan is pretty okay, but the sauce is kinda too sour for me. I like the atmosphere, and the waitress (her name is Nicotine) is extremely nice!!!
