BEST ENGLISH VEGAN FOOD! The owner of the restaurant is so lovely. He is kind and funny. Bookworms offers meat as well as amazing VEGAN food. The English meals are incredible. Homemade burgers, quiche, bangers N mash, Vietnamese food, ice cream, and apple crumble. Just to name a few favorites. I ate here so many times while in Ho Chi Minh and would say it's my favorite place to eat vegan food out of all the places I tried the 2 weeks while in the city. The only downside is the prices can be high for the western food, however it is worth the price because the portions are large and the food is homemade.

After getting tired of the non interesting small breakfast menu in my hotel my friend and I decided to eat out for breakfast. Again here we thought to try something more closer to British taste. So I opted for a Vegetarian omlette which was served with chips and baked beans. It was lovely. My friend opted for a traditional English breakfast. The menu was very extensive here with many British and European favourites as well as food from around the world. With such an extensive menu you wonder how they can make so many dishes in one kitchen but what I had was lovely and can't complain really. My only minor criticism of the place was it looked a bit run down and in need of redecoration. The menus didn't look like they had been wiped down in a long time. The location was perfect next to walking street.

I just wanted a burger for my dinner, instead i was served this atrocity. Saying it was bad would be an insult to things which are bad. It was awful. Just do yourself a favor, go somewhere else. Rather sleep hungry but don't go to this place.

Just had food delivered and it's cold and disgusting. The salad looks about a week old. The "spicy" chicken burger is made spicy with a few tiny bits of sliced chilli. Worst food I've had since being in Vietnam. Avoid.

Kahvi oli hyvää ja pekonileipä myös. Kanaleivässäni oli kovia paloja, joista en pitänyt. Hinnat olivat hyvät. Voisin tulla uudestaan, mutta tilaisin jotain muuta kuin kanaa.

They have good menu, non veg as well as vegan. We had really enjoyed the food. But as an Indian I like bit spicy food which I always prefer. So it might not be good if you are spicy food lover. But it's also worth to try it once. Owner is pretty good but somewhere she is busy too so I have to keep reminding her to get our order.

A small little place in the middle of the city. They offer many Non Veg, Veg & Vegan options and have a whole menu to choose from. The staff was friendly and the food was tasty. They have a variety of food for cheap. Breakfast is yummy and had great variety. Items we tried - Veggie fried rice, Veg Vietnamese Pho with Tofu for breakfast Scrambler Eggs with toast and Cold coffee.

Avoid! I only really put reviews on if a place is really good or really bad, and this, unfortunately, was the latter. We nearly walked out right at the start as it looked dirty and the menus were caked in dirt. But we decided to give it a try as sometimes these places are hidden gems. Unfortunately not here. The plates and cups were disgustingly dirty. The staff uninterested and the food terrible. The veggie sausages were clearly just frozen sausages that hadn’t been reheated properly and were cold in the middle. The coffee (served in the dirty cup) tasted like instant. We went and ate somewhere else after leaving here. There are many many better options in this area.

The food we tried was honestly quite disgusting, probably some of the worst prepared food we've eaten in all of Asia. We had the vegan full English and vegan sausage baguette, everything tasted like it had been cooked a while ago and then barely heated up, meaning you had lukewarm beans, lukewarm sausage and a cold hash brown. The tofu scramble, mushrooms and tomatoes had absolutely no seasoning, literally tasted like they had just been cooked in water. The toast was the best thing on the plate and the only item that had been cooked fresh. 159k for the vegan breakfast and it could be nice if it was actually cooked fresh and seasoned properly, but as it was served to us I felt robbed paying that. The vegan sausage baguette had the same lukewarm sausages, a bit of tomato and cucumber on some old chewy bread. The black coffee was actually pretty decent and the only thing we could finish. As it is I would absolutely avoid eating here if you are vegan, there's zero effort put into the food so do not waste your money. Service is really poor as well, menu and food practically thrown down on the table in front of us.

Awful. Lonely planet is full of rubbish. Yet again. We walked into this place to find the two ladies lounging about and we were an annoyance to them. The service was bad throughout. The tablecloths didn’t like they had been cleaned for several years. Where’s the pride? We’ve eaten in plenty of street places before, so we persevered. The food came, we ordered mash potato and sausage. The potatoes tasted like they had once been green, say about 3 years ago. We did not finish. We paid and left. Would recommend no one to eat here.

The food here is delicious, with loads of options catering to all, vegan, vegetarian and meat eaters. They have proper hp sauce, and a lot of traditional English foods, all homemade. The prices of some of the dishes reflect that compared to other local options. But for a taste of home away from home, this place can't be beaten. The staff are very helpful and friendly too, recognising me and asking if I want my usual breakfast after only 2 visits.

Been thinking about going to this place for a few months now , the menu looks great especially if you are English or an Australian however the reviews have put me off however this morning I decided to give it a try . Went for today and had the all day English breakfast . Firstly no HP sauce , then the hash brown very soggy not crispy, the bacon well says 2 rashers but I think it was 1 dasher and cut into 2 , very small serving. Was it really pork sausage ? , beans lukewarm, eggs are eggs , no effort in cooking the tomato and the toast was that sweet bread , why ? . Then my pot of tea , as I poured my milk into the tea I could smell it was off and with it been a clear glass of tea could see separation of the milk . I should have followed my instincts after reading the reviews and shouldn’t have gone there . So when you see reviews as bad as they are for this place it means don’t go , stay away.

7/10 for food 2/10 for cleanliness First time I came here I had a tasty vegan burger that goes with fries, enjoyed that. But it was terribly dirty, even menu is sticky. Second time I came for a vegetarian breakfast. There was a cockroach running ON the table.

This small local family owned cafe is delicious! They have an extensive international menu including vegan and vegetarian meals. We love the coffee, chocolate banana shake, toasties, baguettes, vegetarian bahn khot, and the vegetarian breakfasts. They can sub vegan milk and vegan cheese upon request. We have been here every morning since we arrived and order something new each time. Also, it is very inexpensive. Give this place a try. It is great!

Was really looking forward to a vegetarian roast dinner as we’ve been travelling for months and missed a taste of home. When our food arrived, we were first given beef, after specifically ordering vegetarian. After we sent the food back and our ‘veg’ roast dinner arrived, we were disappointed than instead of receiving ‘mock beef’ we were given 2 lentil burgers. The dish was advertised to have Yorkshire puddings too, which we did not receive. The only positive is that you get a free drink with the meal, otherwise I would say it’s highly overpriced for slightly disappointing food

Cheap and good coffee. Nice place to watch people walk by.

Little local place where you can play board games or read books. Western options mainly but the menu was very easy to read as it shows dietary restriction options e.g vegetarian food. We had the vegetarian breakfast which included tea but other options available if you don't want tea. Really attentive staff.

absolutely filthy…the dishes arrived with old dirty marks…the cutlery was dirty…the tablecloth which is plastic and easily washed had old food all over it and obviously hadn’t been washed in years. I had the vegan bacon and cheese toastie which was okay but I couldn’t eat it as put off by all the dirt around me. I had an Americano which tasted like instant coffee. My husband had the vegan full English and the sausages were cold in the middle….everything was look warm and served on a dirty plate. We couldn’t wait to get out

Second time eating here. Pretty sorry excuse for British food. Bothe the Sunday roast and cottage pie very substandard. They also win an award for the smallest glass of wine I have ever seen. Would not bother again.

Large choice of vegetarian versions of Vietnamese dishes. We tried the rice noodles with vegan chicken soup and the Vietnamese vegetarian breakfast ( with vegetarian ham). Both delicious! Also tried the black lentils veggie burger for lunch. It was full of flavours.

They have real HP brown sauce!!! Worth coming for that alone. They do lots of vegan versions of English classics (bangers & mash, fish & chips etc). We got the vegan full English in which was pretty good and comes with a good cuppa as well. Was a little oily but still tasty. And did I mention brown sauce?!?!

Love the fact there are many vegan dishes on the menue. We Both had the Full Vegan English Breakfast. It was okay, but the taste was rather bland, not much seasoning. The tofu scramble was more like just crumbled tofu (plain white and no egg taste/Kala namak salt). Maybe the vietnamese women preparing our food don't quite know the concept of tofu as a egg replacement. For me one kind of the served sausages tasted too much like Bifi for my liking. Sorry... The price for one of these was around 150 k dong, which I found quite pricy for the only okay taste. The restaurant looks a bit rustic but I guess that's what they are going for.

Lovely little cafe, it has a lot of English/Western food at fairly good prices. An extensive vegan menu with a lot of choice and it is very tasty. More expensive than Vietnamese food but they also have a full menu with non vegan options too. Very helpful staff and food was very fresh. They also have a lovely puppy and a ginger cat in the cafe! Will come back to try more items
