Reasonably nice castle to go if you're are doing castle hopping. Do present your rail/bus pass to get discount off the tickets if you have. Overall is quite a nice castle and some nice exhibition. Be careful of the stairs as it can be rather steep and narrow

The museum is underwhelming compared to Oberhofen and Hunnegg. Also, the view is not good if you go up close. From afar, it is magnificent. 👌 Not easy to get here since you have to climb a ton of stairs.

Nice option if you driving around the area. The 4 towers in the last floor are the highlight of the visit, in my opinion. The castle has beautiful high views of the city, specially the church nearby. The visit takes around one hour, including the temporary modern exhibitions adapted throughout the rooms.

The castle is visible almost everywhere in the town of Thun and it’s not too difficult a climb to get up there via one of the stairs from old town. Unfortunately, it wasn’t opened for visits when I was there on a weekday afternoon but the views were still pretty good from the around the castle. It's a fantastic place! I truly recommend the visit. Take your time and read and listen to everything on display; it's really cool.

What a wonderful little museum! Perched on a hill overlooking the town, this local museum has a lot to offer. The family ticket was good value and we had an interesting hour exploring the castle. The information provided around the various rooms did a good job of explaining the history, and the building itself was charming, without too many distractions. The walk up to the loft was the best bit, with incredible views out across the town, plus the kids had great fun running around between the ancient beams. An excellent little find and well worth a few hours of your time.

Thun Castle is a hidden gem in the Swiss countryside! I was amazed how nice is the castle inside and the view from the top floor. The breathtaking views from the tower are worth the climb. The picturesque surroundings make it a perfect spot for a IG worthy . A must-visit for history buffs and nature lovers alike! They also provide locker for the heavy bag. Bit cold in the main hall. They have some sort of Medieval Sword & Shield 🛡️ toys for kids.They offer a nice resto in the courtyard too :-) Highly recommended.

A bit of climbing is needed to reach the castle. The ticket is included in the Swiss travel pass. There is a detective game for you to play along while exploring the castle, which I recommend

Museum fee is 10 CHF. For me, it's not that small. Be careful for climbing up to the top but the view is worth. Museum is well manage.

Only a handful of people in the castle when we toured. Wonderful views of the city and lake. The "museum" was a mix of old and new pieces with a variety of artists and messages.

The castle is in good condition, definitely a must visit for people who has interest in history, free admission if you have the swiss travel pass for tourist otherwise entrance is 10francs

very nice castle, but the museum part was not so big. still very nice views from the towers. you can climb about 4 floors plus the towers. for Kids there is extra thing what makes it nice for them as well.

A nice castle to visit. Kids have a treasure hunt in the castle to make it fun for them. Recommended.

Absolut sehenswert, spannender Rundgang durch das Schloss gehabt. Preis-Leistung absolut i.O. Super Aussicht über die ganze Stadt! Es lohnt sich auf jeden Fall den Audio-Guido zu mieten.

Wonderful palace!! This wonderful castle is a museum, hotel, spa and restaurant. Spectacular views, definitely that if I return to Thun I will stay here.

Imposantes Gebäude, welches die lange Zeit ausgezeichnet überlebt hat. Tolle Aussicht von den Türmen, wenn man es dann hoch geschafft hat.

Totally worth the visit!! They have many interactive things to enjoy the museum, and for me the best part by far was the highest floor: the wooden roof structure is absolutely amazing

Absolutely beautiful experience, amazing castle with breathtaking view.

Pity for the weather, but castle deserve a visit... We did the stairs that start in the second pictur, as a less 130... 😅 So take a good breath and do it, you'll love the landscape!!!
