Don't be fooled. This hospital was the former Promise Hospital in Fort Myers Florida! Please READ their reviews before deciding to go here. They had to change their name because they were so awful. My mother had the worst care here from Dr. Bravo the Pulmonologist. Please do yourself, family, friends a favor and look into this place that was once "Promise Hospital" to see what your in for! We were pushed to go here by staff at another hospital. Many regrets

Don’t believe these 5 star ratings coming from staff members of the hospital. This hospital provided horrible care for my Mother. I only wish I had done my research before we allowed the hospital to move her here. If I had, she might still be with us today.

I wonder.... if I didn't send my friend here, would he still be alive? They left him in his own feces for hours. When he went back to the hospital there were three other patients from this facility. Nobody wanted to go back. I'm ashamed for selecting this facility. It looks nice from the outside but really, it's rotten to the core. Edit: And I see now they would like me to talk to their damage control department. Folks if they've hurt someone you know, don't talk to them! They'll only gather information so they can weasel out of responsibility. Gather dates, any witness statements, and take pictures... then go straight to a lawyer.

My husband was a patient for several weeks. The nursing staff is GREAT - HOWEVER, lack of communication between patient, family and staff is HORRIBLE and caused my husband much pain and suffering! They need to get their act together! A new regime took over in April and they need to get things sorted out - there is a TERRIBLE LACK OF COMMUNICATION! For example - they recommended comfort care at the end but failed to tell us it only lasts 24 hours - He was given morphine for 24 hours and then only tylenol!!! was in extreme pain - - THANK GOD FOR HOSPICE that took him out of there and made him comfortable. i would NOT recommend this place!

I have been recently visiting a family member here and if I could give it zero stars I would. They seem understaffed and the staff that’s there it seems like English is their second language. I kept trying to get information from the doctors but they weren’t there enough to see them. I wish we had just been able to stay at the hospital or had another option to go to. I don’t get the other reviews maybe people have lower standards than me or have not had good healthcare.

I usually don't write reviews, this will be my first. I was surprised to see this place had anything above a one star! Then, I read through, and see what other families had experienced at Select.I can honestly say this is the worst run facility my wife has ever been to in the past year she has been sick. The care was significantly below average in every way imaginable. I would never chose this Select center again. I agree with some of the other reviews that the only people giving this place a 5 star must be the misrepresenting employees themselves.

My uncle was transfer from Health Park hospital to Select Specialty Hospital and he is been there over a week, since day one the service has been unprofessional, they did not have a room ready when he got to Select Hospital and it took around 9 hours for him to be able to be set up with all his needs, due to COVID-19 he is a high risk patient. The button to be able to call the nurse was no working and it pass 1 hour after someone came and help him. The nurses manners are really unprofessional, it feels they don’t like what they are doing and they afraid to go into the room. Same as the other reviews when you call it’s hard to be able to talk to a nurse and have a report, and when they answer the only response it’s that the patient is fine, they don’t give any accurate medical information. We understand the nurses are busy and we don’t expect service right away but when my uncle calls to able to go to the bathroom it takes 45min-1 hour to able to get a response. If anybody have the option to go to choose a hospital please be aware of the reviews and the service this hospital gives before you make a decision to get transfer to this hospital. We wish we can give a good review but in this case, we are not having the service we expect.

My sister will be a patient here, as the family feels this is a good facility of choice. We have a larger family, and my sister has several, dear friends who will stop by randomly to visit. I'm starting review at 5 stars, lol...by sight. As we progress into the atmosphere here, I will keep readers up to date for a true, proper review. As an employee of the former Promise Hospital and now Select Specialty Hospital I am truly impressed with how smooth the transition was. Select Specialty has shown such support, structure and great enthusiasm to be a part of the SWFL community and to serve those in need of a Critical Illness Recovery Hospital. The professionalism, camaraderie, and knowledge of all physicians, clinicians and staff is top-notch and I would not even hesitate to send a loved one to Select Specialty because I have seen first hand how wonderfully cared for our patients are. I am proud to be a part of the Select Specialty Hospital of Fort Myers team.

I was very happy with my experience at Select. They have very good staff and made me feel at home!

My fiance has nearly nothing negative to say about the staff and overall care she is receiving. The nurses and reception staff have all been very professional to me as well. I don't want to mention him by name but, the primary gentleman looking after my loved one has been very patient and accommodating to me with every interaction. I look forward to meeting everyone that overall so far, has made this road to her recovery, a very smooth reassuring one.

Don't go hear are put your family member or friend here they are so unprofessional hear Stay away! This place is excellent. I can go home at night because my husband is getting such great care. I am here all day and see the warm caring people taking great care of him. Nurses, doctors , CNAs, Respiratory Therapist, Physical Therapist, Occupational therapist .. EVERYONE.. They are all so caring. The cleaning people are also courteous and nice.

I see that people are still dying in the care of your “rehabilitation hospital”. Clearly my grandfathers death wasn’t a reality check for anybody who works in that god forsaken place. Just know that god works in mysterious ways and ONE day you all will have to pay the consequences of our loved one and your other patients who have died in your care. EDIT: I HAVE CONTACTED THE LAST PERSON THAT WAS IN CHARGE AND ALL YOU DID WAS FAIL US . IF ANYONE ELSE LOST A FAMILY MEMBER TOO, JUST GO TO A LAWYER. THERES NONE IN THIS AREA THAT HANDLE CASES BECAUSE THEY ARE WEALES AND PROTECTED BY FL CHAPTER LAWS. EDIT: I also posted a review LAST year when I blasted on all forums how your nurses killed my grandfather! Of course my review was deleted. If you care about your family members, you will RUN FROM THIS PLACE!

This is not a true hospital! They are very unprofessional, Understaffed & not qualified! The only good thing about My husbands stay was the wound care nurses other then that I would never recommend this place! They did more harm to my husband then good!

My husband spent 2 weeks here after being released from Gulfcoast Medical Center ICU with a serious medical condition, GuillainBarre. He had been on a ventilator for 4 weeks in the ICU. After transferring to Select Specialty Hospital, he was off the ventilator within days and had the trachea removed, breathing on his own. The care and treatment here along with the physical therapy was remarkable in contributing to his recovery!

Overall medical and nursing staff was great!

Our family had a terrible experience at Select Specialty in Fort Myers. All I can say is, I would strongly consider other options, as quickly as possible.

We cannot express our appreciation and gratitude for this facility and its staff for the care they dispensed to our brother during a lengthy medicall ordeal. After having been a patient at numerous hospitals and rehabs, Select Specialty treated him with the level of comfort and professionalism that gave him and his family peace of mind and the ability for him to finally heal properly. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone who expects a high level of care for themselves or loved ones. Select sets the standard for all.

I have absolutely no complaints about my care here at Select. Everyone is kind and courteous from the nursing staff to the cleaning services. I feel like I’m a part of the team!

We spent 3 months at this facility.The staff was excellent.The patient Rodney Williams,was able to overcome many obstacles,that were very serious conditions.The team of expert doctors nurse practitioners, registered nurses repiratory therapists ,cna physical,occupational and speech therapists all went the extra mile in caring for Rodney.The front desk staff and nurse managers were always caring and professional.We would especially like to thank Dr.Shetty and Dr. Bravo for the excellent care. I am a retired nurse with 45 years of nursing career.I have personally experienced all medical settings.Select specialty hospital in my opinion is special.To all the staff ,our heartfelt thank you. Nurses and physicians are great! Everyone has a great attitude. The hospital is only as good as its employees, and they have far exceeded my expectations!

I am the Guardian for my mom who is a patient at Select , I have called 3 times over 2 days requesting to talk to the Plastic surgeon who operated on my mom, with no response. The answer I get is a nurse will call you, of course this also never occurred

I visited a family member multiple times at this facility and each time I witnessed nursing and other staff members going above and beyond to make them feel comfortable and make their health care to return home possible! The rehab and respiratory teams are amazing! Everyone cares and it's a small hospital family like unit! Thank you for all you do, I realize this is a tough job to do day in and day out!

We felt welcome from the start... and the level of care our loved one is receiving is Great! She is improving a little every day. I would definitely recommend it’s the right place to get quality care and when I learned about the “pet friendly” policy I nearly fell out my chair! Just imagine the smile when our faithful best friend is allowed to say hi and help in the healing process! 👍👍

The entire staff was caring on all levels, especially the ANRP and therapy department. The food was good too.

So impressed with this facility and grateful that my husband is recovering there There are tons of staff around from doctors...admin...nurses...cnas...and everyone is so nice and helpful They are so thorough with dietitians and different therapies I didn't even know places like this existed It's clean and the rooms are spacious and nice with wood floors My husband has everything he needs to recover

From the first day to the last day the staff and administration were nothing but helpful and accommodating. They went out of their to address any issues and concerns we may have had. My fathers progress from day 1 to day 22 was absolutely amazing and very impressive. The nurses are so kind and caring and attentive to the patients needs. Physical and speech therapy were great, very patient and worked hard to get him out the door. Respiratory team was wonderful and kept us informed and educated us on what needs to be done. Overall, myself and my family as well as my dad are very very pleased with the facility If I could give more than 5 stars I would.

I’m giving them three stars for now as my mom is still a patient. It’s not been a good week. Tried calling for 5 hours on Saturday and no one answers the phone. Does a hospital close? We need to be able to check on my mom. Nurses seem great but communication is minimal. Hoping for a better week coming up

I was transferred from Fawcett hospital in Port Charlotte Fl suffering from coid19 and pneumonia to your facility. When I arrived all of the personnel at select were all comforting and caring. The whole medical staff and everyone involved was astronomical. The expertise and medical knowledge of my condition and treating it was next to none. The caring of all my needs was excellent from the the doctors, nurses, CNAs, respiratory, dietary, physical therapist, and all others involved with the facility from the top to the bottom and also the personnel in the office who made it so easy arranging my arrival and departure. When I entered rehabilitation after I was released from Select I was told that I would not be there long because of the exercises and training the physical therapist had already given me. Thanks everyone involved with my recovery and for saving my life. It is a pleasure writing this review because the facility is more than five stars in my book.

I am currently a patient at select hospital and I love the care I am receiving. The staff is outstanding and they make certain that you are well enough to go home and stay home, how many ceo's personally visit with you. I would recommend this hospital to anyone. Thank you Select.

I would like to take the time to thank all of the nurses, doctors and staff that took great care of my mother. We have been in and out of hospitals for over ten years and have never been in such a great place. All of our nurses were very attentive and considerate, staff even brought our family coffee and snacks which were greatly appreciated. Thank you again from the bottom of hearts!!!

Although I was skeptical when it was recomended my husband go there after complications from open heart surgery, he couldn't have gotten better care. The nursing staff happily cared for all of his needs. I wish I could name them all. The therapists went that "extra mile" to help him regain his strength. He was assigned an advocate, Joe, who apprised me of how things were going and see if I had any concerns.

Excellent caring people and great facilities

I would recommend this facility for anyone who needs a long term care hospital. The nurses, Cna’s, doctors and wound care nurses were excellent and helped me tremendously. Because of their care I feel that I have my life back.

I found my experience here very good. The nurses are good. The hospital is clean. And, the food is good. I have nothing but good things to say about this hospital and I would recommend it to anyone that needs to come here.

I had a wonderful experience at Select Hospital, from my first night in ICU where I meet Vera and Laura.They made me feel like I was at home and immediately lifted my spirits.They asked if I was hungry or thirsty and I said yes I wanted ice cream and they brought some. As my night time medications took hold they brought me warm blankets and turned out the lights, I woke up refreshed, the first good sleep I had in months. After that I meet the Ot and Pt teams who rapidly identified my problems and began working with me everyday until I surpassed even my goals.The hospital seems to have a holistic approach to health, specific diets, exercise and restorative rest. This facility is very family friendly and the whole experience was above and beyond any hospital I have been in. The stay has been great, the staff is caring and wonderful. The food is excellent. The doctors are excellent too.

I felt so safe and taken care of, I dont think I ever wanted for anything. I was greeted by Joe the pharmacy doctor, he was always checking in on me. The nurses Cat, Greg, Dian as well as many others that made my stay a very healing one. More than one occasion had me thinking I was in a resort rather than a hospital. I will always be grateful. Specialty select would be where I recomend you go if you need a rehabilitation hospital. ❤❤❤❤❤❤

I was a patient here back in August of 2021 due to Covid damaging my lungs. I was there for about 10 days. The first night was pretty scary but the next 9 days until check out were great. Food was incredible. Staff was great and attentive, especially Ann, my physical therapist and Bernard, my nurse. Best decision my family and I could’ve made.

My experience at Select has been excellent. The staff has been extremely attentive and that includes not only the nursing staff but the rehab/therapy associates. I would heartily recommend this facility for any hospital need you may have.

My uncle Henry was transferred to this hospital for long term wound care and was given exceptional care by all the staff! Wound care took great care to close his surgical wound. The rehab department went above and beyond setting up bands so he could work out while on bedrest, and even cut his fingernails and shaved his face on a regular basis! The staff at this family definitely go above and beyond for their patients, they truly are caring! I would recommend this hospital to all my family and friends! EXCEPTIONAL!

I can’t say enough positive comments about my experience of spending 42 days there, of which the majority was in ICU. The bedside manner and exceptional care from the doctors, to the nursing staff and the therapists was exceptional. I credit them for me, finally getting my life on track again.

This facility is top notch. The staff and nurses were always cheerful and took interest in the patient. I can't imagine there is a better place.

Select Specialty Hospital in fort Myers has a culture of helping people. Everyone seems concerned with the patient's comfort and progress toward recuperation and seem to care that the patient achieve a good quality of life upon discharge. I recommend Select Specialty Hospital in fort Myers without reservation.

Not nearly enough staff to do what’s required.

If I could give them negative stars, I would. If you can go anywhere else, go there. The care is non-existent. I was told by several doctors there that: The care my loved one needed was not their specialty, so they can’t help. They just arrived and don’t know my loved one so don’t ask any questions They’ll get to us when they can His primary care doctor made one phone call on my loved ones behalf during a desperate search for answers because they couldn’t help (see item one) then went on vacation and never bothered to follow up THERE IS NO CARE ON WEEKENDS. A nurse told me she was just there to keep my loved one alive until Monday. We’ve since left THANK GOD and every health care professional I’ve spoken to since has the EXACT reaction. Appalling is an understatement.

This is the worst hospital to ever take your loved ones too. The nurses are very unprofessional....specially the white ones who don't seem to care about the black patients there. While my loved one was there, I have been harassed, cussed at and kicked out of the room because they didn't want me to see what they were doing which was really weird to me. If you are dealing with grief and pain already from your loved one dying and then you have to deal with more abuse from the treatment of these people...then Do Not send your loved one here. save them and yourself.
