Well this hotel was definitely an experience. Is it one I would like to repeat? Probably not. Travelling with friends we experienced anything but a hospitable attitude from the Receptionist/Manager. Came across as very unfriendly and standoffish. Attempts were made to be extra polite to try and create a bit of a rapport. This was a waste of time. I have given the service two stars as it was somewhat improved by a lovely friendly brunette lady on the second day of our stay. She was an absolutely diamond. If the hotel owners read this I hope she gets some recognition. Also worth mentioning that an email was sent to the hotel the day before arrival asking about hairdryers and if toiletries were provided. This was TOTALLY IGNORED! I have never had a hotel ignore correspondence relating to a stay before. The hotel lobby had an endearing smell of raw sewage during our stay. This was noted by other guests. We raised this with the hotel handyman who seemed to brush the issue off based on it being ‘an old building’. I can safely say that I have stayed in many ‘old buildings’ also in Brugge and haven’t had this problem before. On night two we had a power cut. Not surprising as work appears to be going on at the hotel and there is wires hanging out of walls. Did we feel safe. No! Pretty sure this would be a health and safety issue should it be looked into. The hotel cleaning staff were also an interesting bunch. I can safely say this is the first hotel I have ever stayed in that has cleaners hoovering late at night and trying to service rooms. When my friend told me she had a knock on the door after 9pm it blew my mind. Note to the hotel- if it isn’t done by early evening then please just leave it! No one wants to be bothered when they are trying to relax. Also, note that the hotel check out time is 11am. However, don’t be surprised if you get a cleaner knocking on your door at 9.30am asking if you are ready to leave. I believe this led to more than a few disgruntled guests. If you fancy staying in the Belgian attempt at fawlty tours then this is the hotel for you. In all fairness I should also note that the breakfast was good and the room was ok. Nothing special for the price paid. Should say this was nearly £300 for two nights for a single traveller. This hotel could be good but unfortunately the staff and state of the place are letting the place down (except polite and lovely brunette receptionist) *Update to original review* after leaving an honest review on booking.com about our travelling experience we were met by a reply from the manager falsely accusing us of demanding free breakfasts and a room for three people. This was all manifestly untrue and goes to show the level of respect this hotel has for its guests. Don’t lie to make yourself look better. Admit there is a problem and work on improving it. Insinuating guests are a problem has just dropped your review from two stars to one star as this has absolutely disgusted me.

The entire hotel including rooms smells like s***. Everything gives the impression of forgotten forsaken and cursed. We waited 30min for someone to appear for the check in. Avoid this place at all costs. The room next door is under construction with live wires and appliance / scaffolding hanging there left with the door open. Wow.

Horrible staff. Front desk person condescending and rude. In an incredibly noisy room from road noise and some kind of rock music until 3am. Other patrons arrived in the middle of the night and because there is zero soundproofing heard everything. Impossible to sleep. Asked to be moved and when I said I wasn't able to sleep because of the noise, the desk clerk said she wasn't going to discuss it with me. Only individual rooms have air conditioning. The rest of the building was a hothouse. Tried to use their cellar gym, but there are no windows or air conditioning. It was literally a sauna. No towels or wipes for equipment. The hotel is not central to town... it's a walk. One towel in the room, uncomfortable bed, single cup with hot water and a teabag with instant coffee. Do not stay here!

For some reason that I ignore we were assigned Room 28 with my wife. Although the hotel seemed reasonably ok in terms of lobby, general instalations, etc, that room is a sheer shame, under no circumsrances accept to stay there. It is isolated from the rest thru a patio/ parking lot. The bed is in the first floor and the bathroom at ground level thru a dangerous set of stairs. The spaces are minimum , with no cupborads neither room at all for clothes, etc. It was dirty as well, with weeks of accumulated powder over wood surfaces. Summarizing, escape from this room. The service from the staf was very basic as well.

A truly wonderful small boutique hotel in an old Bruges mansion house. We were in a quiet room with it’s own exterior courtyard. It was well equipped, had a comfortable bed, a spacious bathroom and was within walking distance of the centre and train station.

Had some wifi trouble. Everything else was perfect. There is "no stopping" in front of the hotel. So, if you are travelling by car, please make sure you understand where to stop/park to avoid a 3 km detour.

Not a very clean clean room. We found a couple of big moths in our room so we decided not to unpack our clothes. Really disgusting. The bed was small and not very comfortable. Definitely not worth the price we paid (around 100€ per night). Location is good, however.

It's a small but very pretty hotel. It has a spirit somehow, old style decorations but still very clean and sunny. Perfect heating for the cold days. Very close to the old town of Bruges. Have in mind that the reception is working only on a daily shift and the front door of the hotel is locked late in the evening and night with a code. If you arrive later, tell the reception in advance.

A fabulous boutique hotel very close to the centre of Brugge - beautiful bathrooms - gorgeous linen - air conditioned and the buffet breakfast is perfect. Can store your bike here and the owner and staff are very helpful with stacks of local knowledge about cycling and the city - will stay here again if we ever get to this part of the world again - Lynda & Bernie Rose Western Australia

Near to central.(about 10 min by walk). The room is clean and you can see the netflix! You can park your car but the fee is 20 euros.

Like:The hotel facilities were very good, great location for short walk into the town centre. The rooms are very 'chique' with mood lighting and nicely decorated, tea and coffee making facilities and a room safe. Parking is excellent (additional charge) especially for our group of motorcycles. Disliked · Very limited tea and coffee in the room (two of each). Breakfast was a little expensive, plenty of cold buffet but the hot option was not maintained very well, I ended with beans on toast (no eggs, bacon etc).

A standard hotel with very friendly staff and cleanliness is evidently a priority. Also located within a 5-10min walk to the city centre. Had a really good 3-night stay.

A beautiful traditional Bruges villa that was sensitively converted into a small luxury boutique hotel. We’d a wonderful quiet ground floor room in its own courtyard with outdoor seating. Comfortable bed, spacious shower room and the buffet breakfast was good too.

Stayed overnight on our way to Germany. The black wall paint inside is not very inviting. I struggled to find the lift as it was also in black. The management may wish to consider a sign indicating 'lift' to help their guests. Room was acceptable, clean, comfortable. No tel to the reception. Breakfast was very good. Mixture of continental and hot(eggs/sausage).

5 Minutes to the City Centre, so perfect Location for a weekend trip to this beautiful City. The rooms are clean, new and for this price big enough. Don´t book a room on the ground floor next to the street. The breakfast was not as expected, only a few choices of healthy items and almost nothing for Vegans, the front office lady was not that friendly to be honest, all in all a nice experience, especially for that price and location.

Lovely room, very modern decor and well situated near the reception. Mini fridge and safe are a bonus. Polite friendly staff are very helpful and fluent in a handful of languages. Allocated parking for guests is sparse but accommodates about 10 vehicles. Hotel staff are very helpful and have satisfied our every need.

12 minutes walking to downtown I mean Belfort. Everything is near just walking. The staff was so polite and so helpful. All of them. The entrance to the hotel, the reception, the wide breakfast room are all beautiful. The breakfast very very rich. We were so pleased.

Stylish hotel in a perfect location. We went there for our wedding anniversary and we had brilliant time. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful, at first we were put in a room on the top floor with a skylight window, we couldn’t open the window because it was raining and it was very humid. In the morning we asked if we could get another room and they kindly upgraded our room. The bed was very comfortable and the room was very clean, breakfast was nice and they had good choices. Would definitely recommend!

Poor quality rooms and food. Parking is a joke. Staff are patronising. Overall, don't recommend.

Great location, rooms are spacious and beds are comfy. Few bumped heads (well one cracked his head open..) due to odd shaped ceilings / lowered. Drops another star due to parking - archway to drive in is we’ll politely put awkward! Especially coming off a busy road and where vehicles park up to unload. Scratched my car (yes my fault) however look at the walls on entry and can see I certainly not the first or last! Would of thought the hotel would have at least put some foam / plastic bollards in to protect cars from getting wrecked. Or at very least maybe give some people warning it’s awkward? (See pictures…) Very limited parking at 20Euros per day, got annoyed at “park here park there” from reception when every bay we were told to move to was taken. Overall pleasant but I wouldn’t stay again.

Comfortable bed, nice yard, secure parking, clean and well kept, friendly staff, luxurious reception, background atmosphere led lighting behind bed and in shower! Third bed in cupboard, comfortable chairs, when you enter the fitness center music starts to play automatically and the lights are cool as well, rooms are not that sound proof but other guests were quiet enough, were upgraded to accessible room for free and it was so much easier that way - thank you very much! We did not have breakfast there (only accessible by stairs) so I can't say anything about that.

The positive for me: 1. Excellent location - literally a 5 minute walk from the main square but there is also a lovely little shopping street that we might have missed if we hadn't stayed here! 2. Clean and tidy - reasonable priced. The hotel had this grandeur in the foyer with some spectacular statues and original features but with the nice touches of the owners. 3. Breakfast - this had a good variety although I question the mini hot dogs in replacement of actual sausage. The issues for me: 1. Unfriendly welcome - the lady on the front desk seemed to give the impression it was a bother to check us in. 2. Parking - the hotel does have parking, but this is not complimentary and is an additional 15€ a night which adds up! Also had to go into the hotel to get access to the car park and we come back to the unfriendly welcome. 3. No indoor access to the annex building we were put it. So if it was raining which is sometimes did, you had to run across a car park to get to the main building. 4. Room - although the room was lovely, clean and well sized - it was 2 twin beds that had been pushed together (not in ziplock fashion like most hotels do) so they slide apart during the night when trying to cuddle in to my other half. 5. Tea try - although there was TONS of feedback on their page about it...still nothing. 6. Smell in the foyer

Stayed only one night, excellent stay. Well located. Comfortable bad. Clean. Friendly staff. Storage room for luggage. Can't say about the breakfast. The room was quite small so not sure if suited for longer stay.

Very elegant, great service even when we arrived late. We chose this hotel for the parking on site, very wise choice after seeing the city. This hotel was the perfect location inside the old city, easily walkable to the main market and all the other sights we wanted to see.
