We had to clean our table ourselves, when arriving. Dishes poor in taste and portion, and served on dirty plates. Service was undisputably horrifying. Please have some self respect and go somewhere else.

We were on a day trip tour bus to Bruges and the tour guide recommended this restaurant for their mussels dishes and Flemish dishes. I should have checked the reviews before walking in. We agreed with the negatives reviews even though the price is roughly similar compared to other restaurants near by. Portion is small considering the price. €3.75 for small bottle of coca cola and €4.00 for pepper mints tea without any fresh mints leaves. The beef Flemish was €18.50, the rabbit Flemish was €20.50. The beef stew is average and the fries did not live up the expectation that Belgium is famous for. Rabbit meat was a bit dry, but the sauce is ok. One positive things is that this restaurant has a lot of seats available. So you can be seated right away. The restroom cleanliness is just below average. We would rather go to other €0.50 pay restroom. Not recommending this one, go try other restaurants.

Sadly we didn't check the reviews before coming in, we were hungry and tired and chose it because it looked nice from the outside. I kinda wished we took one minute to check the reviews, the food was between OK and mediocre, the beef stew was unremarkable, quite dry but edible, we also tried the fried calamari which was not great and had the Chicory ham which was frankly quite bad, the fries are whatever not great but not the worst. The staff was very nice to us at least! Tl;dr: Every tourist city has terrible places that look great on the outside. This is one of them, for the price tag skip it.

Tourist Trap - be careful! BAD food and overpriced. They just want to rip of the tourist in the city and the food has no taste at all. The Belgian food is so much better than what they offer in this place. Plate was small but didn't even finish it cause was scared to get sick after eating this plate. Just horrible!

This restaurant is a shame. Food is so poor that it's very easy to have better food with frozen food. Burgers were not good at all (our children said mc Donald's burgers are much more better) and "vol au vent" are fake... except the price 23€! As a conclusion : very expensive and bad food; do not go there! I don't understand why Bruges accepts such restaurants in his historical center!

I've been going here for years and always had a great time but visited again yesterday and it's even better than before, they have expanded their outside seating, now have more heating, comfortable chairs and the food was still fantastic. Good value compared to prices of similar dishes in other central restaurants and good service.

The restaurant shares the space with another restaurant, and while the Old Bruges aims to be an old traditional restaurant, it's ending as a tourist trap (the other restaurant is more sophisticated). The food was quite disappointing, while coming in big portions. The service is below average. The town definitely offer best options.

I made a mistake to go this restaurant, normally I always check reviews but first time I see this restaurant which is very close to fish market I thought it can not be very bad place to eat fish. It was a worst experience for us. Never visit this restaurant don’t waste your time and money. Everything was poorly prepared and bad taste. They should lose down this restaurant as soon as possible.

Worst restaurant experience in my life. The owner is verbally assaultive to patrons. Zero stars. On a day bus tour from Amsterdam so limited time to see this beautiful city. Our guide Pedro ended the walking tour here and recommended the mussels. Since it was lunch time we took a table. Poor service from the start. When we asked how much longer the food would be after waiting 45 minutes the owner came over and started yelling at me. The tour guide intervened to help get our food. When I went to pay the charge was 27E. I disagreed and showed the owner the listing in the menu for 17E which I had also pointed to for the waiter. Turns out there is another page in the menu with the same dish for 27E. SCAM. Then the owner became more verbally aggressive and a little frightening. I have been a registered nurse for 40 years and realized this was not going to get better. Paid and left but the experience discoloured the rest of the time in Bruges. Upon checking the reviews we realized Pedro has recommended this restaurant before to equally unhappy tourists. No tip for him either.

This review is from a trip we took back in November 2022. My partner and I stopped here for lunch without any prior knowledge of existing reviews. Our server, Laura, was lovely, personable, and very knowledgeable about the menu while giving excellent recommendations. Despite the many negative reviews that have been posted here, we had a delectable meal and all around accommodating experience. I had the shrimp scampi (noodles not pictured, but they were cooked perfectly), and it was possibly the best shrimp scampi I have had to date. This coming from a person who eats it almost any time it's on a menu. My partner basked in contentment while feasting on her fish soup. The meal and time at this establishment are in the fond memory bank from our travels. My suggestion: try it out for yourselves and give it a fair shake. We have no regrets.

The service is horrendous, poor quality of food (same plate had one soft chicken breast that was small, and the other was rock solid. That cost €25. The dishes were very expensive for what was given. Lastly, they dropped the card machine on the table and left, with the amount written there. Not even bothered telling us how much the bill was and stand there for 1 second. I would not return.

Not great. We were trying to find the Visscherie next door and we got whisked through to the terrace on the other side. I wanted to leave but my travelling companions didn't want to go further. Big mistake. The whole place is a bit ramshackle, an overambitious menu, just naff. Frozen food, all average quality or less.

Avoid this place. It's expensive. The food is below par. Arrived disturbingly quick. I never leave food but I did here. The guy who took our money made it feel awkward to lodge a complaint. He put the numbers in the card machine and dropped it in the table and walked off

Wanted to have some mussels but earlier guests talked me out of it because they found it average. Took the steak instead which was good. Pity they were very greedy on the mushroom sauce and the additional salad was meagre too. Price was okay though.

I ordered fettuccine with house-styled prawns for dinner and it was so good! Garlic with spicy tomato sauce, what a happy discovery! And their hot chocolate is good too. Had a very happy and satisfying meal.

Worst experience ever. Waited 40 mn to get mussels. Asked for mussels with white wine, got mussels with beer. Mussels are terrible, no taste. They charged 6 € for a bottle of water of a semi L that's insane. Tourist scam restaurant, run away. Also worst service possible, guy was not nice at all.

We were quite deceived after having dinner here because the portions are a bit small and we took the entrées, plat, dessert formula but honestly it’s not worth it. The service is also quite slow so we were a bit frustrated because we had a train to catch. Nevertheless, they were really nice even giving us an extra pie slice.
