Too bad it's closed for a long period of time. But otherwise highly recommended.

Located on the busy N36, just past the center of Ingooigem. There are a few parking spaces along the track, but 350 m back there are also (free) parking spaces at the church. We were here with a group for a guided tour. The fascinating presentation took an hour and a half, which is highly recommended. The house is a lot bigger on the inside than you would suspect from the outside. It is very practical and comfortably furnished and gives a cozy feeling. After all, Stijn Streuvels is one of our greatest writers.

A very friendly welcome! The tablet that you can use during your visit is a real added value. Streuvels is one of Flanders' largest and most important authors, worth (re)discovering him through his house! Visit can be perfectly combined with the 6 kilometer long Streuvels walk that leaves from this house.

These locations were included in our route 'Cycling between Leie & Scheldt' (50km). Beautiful cycling route in a rolling landscape including some slopes from the RvVl. Starts in Avelgem and visits Spiere-Helkijn. One of our best experiences in terms of views.

(Translated by Google) You will be short of eyes and time during a visit to this warm and authentically decorated "Writers' Nest" and accompanying garden. With the museum tablet in hand, you will discover more and more about the life and work of Stijn Streuvels. A beautiful tribute to our great Flemish writer and his wish to preserve his home for the future.

Impressive... Stijn Streuvels' house looks as if he could return there at any moment - you get a very good idea of how Streuvels lived there from around 1906.

Being able to feel, see and experience the life of one of the country's greatest writers is unique and you can do this here. It is fantastic how respectfully the writer's last wish was respected, to open his home as he left it as a museum. The window where he was writing is unique and it immediately becomes clear why and how he was able to describe the sun in this way. The many books he read are also a real revelation to see how he lived and what shaped him. The house is located in one of the most beautiful places in West Flanders and is definitely worth a visit.

First of all, we received a very friendly welcome at Het Lijsternest, the house is beautifully located and there are numerous walking routes nearby. The way in which the domain was restored to the spirit of the times is impressive. Stijn Streuvels' book collection & library are definitely something you must see. Also a big thank you to Eline for the detailed explanation!
