Place is okay, food was tasty when we have been there. We was turning back to this restaurant this year because we really liked the food last year, but we will not go anymore and I would not recommend the place to anyone as don't like the attitude of the owner lady...not friendly at all and made us to feel like they doing favour to us, she looks very arrogant....nose in the sky. They made us feel we are not welcome there and will definitely not go back anymore. We decided to choosw Era restaurant in Blloku instead, lovely place with very friendly staff. In addition if you want to try more traditional food you should choose Era, they have plenty food, better than this arrogant place....

We found this restaurant on happy cow as it has vegan options. They are opening at 13 on Sundays and we came at 11 (before our flight). The owner (I guess) let us in and served us food and drinks despite it was closed. We were so happy! She was super friendly and nice. She didn't speak any English word and we Albanian but we understood each other perfectly :) The food was excellent! Really nice Albanian vegan food. The leek pie, we took with us as it was cheese inside but she told us so our grandfathers enjoyed it ;) Thank you so much again for your hospitality, well done!

The place is a little hard to find as it’s tucked away from the main street, we were lucky a nice local saw the we’re kind of lost and showed us the way. The food taste is great, we ordered rice, peppered rice, lamb, grilled vegetables honey yoghurt and a few sodas. Portion and price is below the traditional norm (as a local Albanian), you can get more for the price somewhere else. But if you are a tourist wanting to try local cuisines I guess it’s okay. Overall, for a one time experience, it’s worth it.

    - Food: talented professional cook; very tasty Albanian traditional cuisine. Reasonable prices It is one of the first places in Tirana where I bring my foreign friends who are visiting and like traditional food. - Service: very friendly waiters and even the owner is often around helping in the kitchen. She comes from time to time to greet us. - Atmosphere: the restaurant looks like the garden of a museum, filled with lemon trees and colorful flowers. Very frequented by tourists and locals.

Visited for lunch for the roast lamb and the lamb head. Quite disappointed that both lamb dishes were quite cold when it was served, seemed like it was already pre cooked and therefore not as good. Lamb was not really seasoned And nothing special. However the stuffed peppers was freshly made and very delicious. The decor is quite nice but wouldn’t come back again.

Albanian traditional food served in a casual “home” type atmosphere. Several seating options - entry courtyard or inside or in the upstairs terrace. We sat on the terrace - concrete slab for seats along the wall with simple tables and chairs. The servers were rushed and did not give adequate time to our table. Please don’t embarrass yourself by asking chilli sauce or Tabasco or similar item - our female server rudely replied this is not America! In any case black pepper saved the day! One thing I did not like and I think the Food Inspectors would not be happy with is that the servers pile plates loaded with food on top of each other. So the bottom of the top plate is sitting on the food served in the plate below. I am quite certain that the bottom of the plates is not squeaky clean. They need to bring the food in trays and not plate upon plate piles up with food. The food service is slow and not personable. We asked for our bill four times and each time the server nodded towards a door. We kept waiting. Finally I got up to ask and the server said “pay at the counter!” He could and should have said that the very first time. Anyways, finally towards the end of our meal? The servers let our finished plates sit on the table for over 40 minutes and even then did not completely clean up our table for dessert. About 2 hours later - we ate slow so that we could see & hear the musicians —- the musicians arrived. They were good and played Albanian folk songs and some Italian songs for a large group of Italians. The food was tasty. They have at least four or five vegetarian options. Reservations are recommended.

Oda is true local restaurant. If you are in Tirana you have to come. The prices are good, food excellent and special shoots. The workers are nice to you and you can pay by card or cash. Feeling like you are in the village with amazing atmosphere. ✅✅✅

I nice place, I've been there a couple of times. 💵 Accepts only cash what is not too convenient. 🥙 Baked lamb tastes amazingly. Stuffed peppers are very good. The rest is not as good. If you want a healthy meal, you need to order everything separately: meat, salad, side dish. Portions are big and these 3 meals would be good for 2 persons. 🍷 Wine is okay but feels a bit strong. Twice, we have got 25cl and it was too much for 2 person. ⭐️ The place is not a highest standard but is okay for its price. Definitely worth checking once. Adding a fresher menu in case one needs 🙂

Came here due to the food reviews but It didn't keep up to the hype. Waited almost 40 minutes to be seated. once we had a table, no one actually came to clean our tables for about 15 minutes as there were still dishes from previous customers while some customers after us had their tables cleaned and given menu cards. Food is expensive and the taste is not great. The chicken cooked traditionally was decent however flavours could be better. I would rate it 5/10.

I went to this location after reading its google reviews (thank you to all previous reviewers)! This place surely didn’t disappoint. My partner and I showed up and had to wait about 30 minutes to be seated without a reservation. We shared a table with another lovely couple. I loved the communal feeling! It’s a small and cozy place with very limited seating. We were also served Raki for free as a “sorry you have to wait” which I thought was a lovely gesture! The young server was super kind and the food was delicious. If you don’t mind sharing a table and you love food then this place is for you! DON’T MISS OUT

One of the best restaurants in Albania! I was so impressed of the vibe, the taste of food, music and the historical side of the restaurant. The interior design is so amazing and the waiter Herti is so charming, funny and lovely. He told me so many beautiful things about Tirana. The owner definitely should give him a raise. I’ll come back every time when I’ll be in Albania. I can even say that was one of the best dishes in my life. If you want to try the best of Albanian food, definitely come here.

The best place in town to try Albanian cuisine! Very friendly staff, who speaks perfect English and serve authentic, traditional food with wide variety of vegetarian options. The only downside is that you can’t pay here by card and they accept cash only… But after trying some home made wine and Rakı you don’t care about it 😂

This might be the cutest and most unique restaurant in Tirana. The atmosphere, the music, staff friendliness and the restaurant's fully traditional meals menu makes it the best. I ate there 2 times, and every time the meat was super tender and side dishes very flavorful. The best restaurant in Tirana.

Oda is one of the rare restaurants offering what is labelled as Albanian traditional food. It's mostly popular with visitors and tourists. Locals rarely venture here. The food might be labelled as traditional, but the offerings will appeal to a very limited audience. I visited because I was curious. There's a lot of room for improvement.

One of the best restaurants we have visited in Tirana. It was recommended by our tour guide and she nailed it. This place offers traditional Albanian dishes. It is a bit hard to find as it is off the main street, but the search was totally worth it. It looks like an old house converted into a restaurant. The interior decoration is cozy, full of historical elements and paintings, and it has a wooded interior patio full of nature, perfect for a romantic dinner with your partner. The food is delicious and the portions are big enough. The staff is friendly and attentive. They even have live music sometimes. The prices are fair considering the quality of the food and the whole experience. Overall, I think the quality of service was excellent. A very enjoyable experience. I hope to return one day and try more dishes.

The location is great because even if it doesn't seem from the outside when you enter is a really nice and big restaurant but I didn't like the chair where they sit me. Food was relatively good (the best the bread because it is way different than others) but we couldn't finish the meal and it's a bit more expensive than you may think

Delicious traditional Albanian food according to the reviews it is a very busy restaurant, but I walked in for a late lunch around 4:30pm on a Sunday, and was seated immediately in a beautiful courtyard. I ordered the stuffed peppers and eggplant (was able to order one portion of one of each) and they were both delicious. Servers were very friendly. Definitely recommend.

We ate good meatball soup and rice balls (qifci) which could use more salt. Good kraft beer and nice red wine, but it was a bit too warm. They have weird bread, it is not that good like everywhere else in Albania. The stuff was very friendly and helpful, the food came very quickly (and they had a lot of customers then!). It was nice live music too. Overall, the place is made for tourists, no locals were there, but sadly it is one of the few places in Tirana where you can try traditional food (other than fast food).

We came for dinner and the queue outside was very long (seems to be a very popular spot amongst tourists). Staff are in no rush to seat you or manage expectations of how long it will take. We only got a table once I went and asked if we can sit inside (the wait is much longer if you want to sit outside in the cute terrace). Table service again very slow, the staff themselves are nice but must be understaffed or inefficient. Once we finally ordered the food came out quite quickly. We ate lamb, peppers stuffed with rice and spinach pie. Lamb may not look aesthetic but was very good, lots of flavour. The pepper was my favourite dish, very delicious. Spinach pie lacked flavour, no cheese. House wine was good and reasonable price. P.S. don’t forget cash.

Delicious traditional Albanian food. Definitely try the stuffed peppers and slow cooked lamb. If you're into insides, the tripe is beautifully caramelised and very tasty. We couldn't decide on dessert so we tried them all, 3 for 2 people. They were a good introduction to Albanian desserts but quite filling. The tastiest was the cake which was the first one on the list which.

Super friendly and helpful people (who speak amazing English) who run this small restaurant which is tucked away off the street in an alley (I was lucky that despite having it in mind for that evening, I happened to walk past it anyway and see where it was without having to search for it later). It's almost like going into someone's house but in a good way. The menu is small and to the point, and very reasonably priced.

Great traditional food! If you want to explore the Albanian cuisine, come here. This is a restaurant for those who wants to fell new tastes and textures. The tave plenci (lamb stomach) is addictive, the stuffed peppers are excellent too. I ate kokoreci in Greece and Turkey but these are definitely the best. This is not a restaurant for those who usually eat pizza and burgers. Friendly owner.

This place looked very nice and they offer traditional Albanian food with slightly higher prices than other restaurants we've been. The food was amazing and delicious and the waiters were friendly. Our only concern was that we needed to wait 40+minutes until they gave us the soup which is pretty shocking. After the soup an other 15+ min passed by and they served the meals which weren't as hot as we expected them - although they weren't cold, but after waiting for so long you'd expect a hot dish. They might be sort of staff, but I still recommend visiting the place.

The place has a lot of potential but not sure we saw it all. First of all it’s a huge restaurant with several rooms and gardens where you can sit. Clearly most customers are tourists and so staff are rather unfriendly. We also did not hear or see any live music. Food was decent but I am sure there are equally good places elsewhere. The aubergines with meat were our favourite dish and highly recommend. Burek was nice, village salad needs some love put in it. Not sure I’d come back. Service was slow and rather unwelcoming so I’d rather give my money to a place that appreciates having tourists.

Tasty food. Eggplant dish is the star. Fërgesë very nice. Lamb super tender and tasty but small portion for € 10.50. Overall, the experience was nice. Go early (~8 pm for us) or make a reservation for the garden area. Service was OK as well. No delays, maybe because it wasn't crowded when we arrived.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Oda, a gem of a restaurant nestled in the heart of Tirana, Albania. Despite the bustling crowd of tourists, Oda managed to maintain its authenticity, providing an exceptional dining experience with truly authentic Albanian cuisine. The restaurant exuded an undeniable charm, capturing the essence of Albanian culture. From the moment I stepped in, I felt enveloped in the warm and welcoming atmosphere, enhanced by the rustic yet cozy interior. Now, onto the highlight – the food. Venturing to try the local specialty, lamb head, was an adventure in itself. Served with an exquisite blend of local herbs and spices, the dish showcased the rich culinary heritage of Albania. The lamb head, expertly prepared, offered a unique and flavorful experience, taking my taste buds on a journey through the local gastronomic traditions. What added to the overall ambiance was the live music that filled the air during our visit. The musicians delivered a performance that could easily stand as a solo concert. The melodies, resonating with traditional Albanian tunes, provided a soundtrack that elevated the entire dining experience. In summary, Oda is not just a restaurant; it's a culinary odyssey through Albanian flavors and traditions. The authenticity of the setting, combined with the excellence of the food and the captivating live music, made this dining experience truly unforgettable. If you find yourself in Tirana and have a taste for adventure, Oda is a must-visit destination that promises a cultural and gastronomic delight.

Resturant has a very nice atmosphere and nice staff. Food was ok, was expecting more flavor for the reviews it has on Google. Discovered that the resturant was a bit pricey (almost double the bill) compared to nearby restaurants. We ordered vegetable soup, egg plant and stuffed pepper, byrek, the cream cheese with paprika and the meat balls or bifteke. Flavors were ok, meat was salty. Staff are nice, the place is nice...sometimes hard to find a table, or might need to wait long. Amount spent 1700 lek per person

Saved Oda as the last night of holiday. The entrance was amazing with an amazing family run team of chefs and waiters. The food was beyond expectations, we tried the Tavë kosi as one of the traditional dishes of Albania 🇦🇱 It was so good a group of 4 could finish and more! Mid through our eating Journey in one of the Living rooms of the house we were beautifully interrupted by a musical group of men singing and playing some of the traditional music with it's influential ting from the middle east and Turkey. Highly recommend as it was a profound end to our trip. food🥙(House Wine, Tavë kosi dish, Sallate me perime, )🥘

We adored our entire experience at Oda. The decor envelopes you in old world charm, the (English speaking) service was warm and welcoming, the menu offered so many entices choices we knew we'd need to return for more. We prefer to eat vegetarian, which was no trouble at all here. The home-style cooking was presented in generous portions at great prices. The flavors were layered expertly with tantalizing spices. Came here last night for dinner with a group of colleagues. Firstly, because it had good reviews. And secondly, well, because of my name. :) Apparently Oda in Albanian is a room where you host guests and families in your home, I think similar to a living room. ( ) Very homey feeling, which is why they named it Oda. (+) Their homemade Raki is very delicious. (+) Vegetarian options available, since we did have a vegetarian with us. (-) Chicken in a wood stove- dry, tasteless, seasonless chicken. If you order, make sure to order with rice b/c it doesn't have any. Definitely could have been more tender, seasoned... (+) There was a cottage cheese and pepper appetizer that was very good. Came with their homemade bread which came out warm and was good. (-) I'm personally not a fan of pickled vegetables, but the appetizer is all that. Pickled tomato, cabbage, and pepper. My colleagues seemed to be okay with it, but it wasn't my thing. (+) Stuffed eggplant was very good. (+) The stuffed peppers looked very good, although I didn't have any. (+) Very friendly server who was very patient with our questions. ( ) Just a note that their bathroom is a squatty potty. Would recommend this place if you are looking for a casual, local eating experience.

We came there (also because of the reviews) and we're sitting inside. We ordered the stuffed eggplant, stuffed pepper and wood-oven lamb. However, the only kitchen tool that was used to finish the dishes was the microwave. Peeping of the microwave was load and clear. Everything was hot but heated up. And of course a lamb is not as juicy when just coming out of the microwave as it would be when coming from a wood stove. I wouldn't go again.

Simple but good local food. Great if you like organ meat, they've got plenty of choice for that. There are some stray cats begging for food. They appreciate you giving them some meat, but don't try to stroke them as they are very distrusting and will hiss at you. The waitress speaks English and very friendly. Do not expect enormous portions stuffed with decorations, but simple portions of meat and salads.

Well.. not "traditional" but microwaved. We ordered 3 dishes - eggplant , pepper stuffed with rice and "wood oven lamb". All 3 dishes were prepared in a microwave that we heard because we sat inside .. the food did not taste terrible as such but it tasted as the leftovers you heat up at home after a day or two ..or three .. this was not a good experience and I recommend to skip this so called traditional "microwaved" food. The food was dry , especially the lamb that has been just heated up.. meaning extra dry .. disappointing. Note we just noticed that all 5star reviews are from "local guide" .. so don't take those scores seriously.

Great taste of Albania 🇦🇱 Menu contains only traditional dishes and offers enough choices both for vegetarians and meat lovers. We ordered eggplant staffed with veggies, oven cooked lamb and cake with honey and nuts - I loved every bite of it! Drinks menu is rather small, local wine and beer were ok. Service: 4 out 5. We had to find our waitress ourselves, as she wasn’t checking on us. Atmosphere: the place is hidden from the street noise, cats that jump around the terrace make a good company) there are some outside tables, but they might not be ideal as the next building is currently under construction.

Went there twice over a two day stay in Tirana in July 2019; the experience was that good! The atmosphere felt cozy and the food was delicious - we tried a variety of dishes including desserts, all were very tasty. Great value too. And the hostess was very lovely as well and explained the dishes to us. Also great vegetarian options (two of us were veggie). My mum then went on a work trip and took colleagues to Oda - they felt it was a strong value for money opportunity to try traditional food. Would 100% recommend you try!

This was one best experience we had with dinner in Tirana and hands down recommended. This is a one of a kind experience. The experience is as if we are in a front room of someone’s home as if all dishes are made from scratch. Food is amazing and service is impeccable. Prices are as expected. It is a must. But remember it is a very small in size restaurant (literally three tables inside) so plan accordingly.

Best Albanian food restaurant that we found during our visit to Tirana. It was so good that we actually come back to eat for a second time before to leave. Everything seems to be very Fresh ans traditional from Albanian cuisine. My favorite was definitely the slow cooked lamb, so tender and delicious. Stuffed paprika, aubergines, Cottage sallad, spinach pie, Cheese soup with meatballs, and kolloface. Everything really delicious. I got some local wine which was perfect combination for our food. Staff is super friendly and helpful. They speak good enough English not that much Italian.

This was on our list even before we arrived in Tiranë but sadly the ultimate experience was average at best.. mostly because of the hype over the internet and also probably the owner themself is managing everything and got mixed up with the orders from another table.. anyway, coming to the items we ordered.. 1. the spinach pie (lakror) : this was huge but kinda bland and spinach flavours were overdone 2. Fergese: this was very good and pumped up our expectations and even the quantity was awesome 3. Tave dheu: bland for our taste. Portion size was satisfactory Just a small tip: nobody tells you but if you order Raki, the local wine, it comes without mixer and is very very strong. We were told by the staff that it shouldn’t be diluted and ended up asking for 2 drinks and it was so strong that we barely sipped. He, however, charged us for both. PS: We later Googled and understood that Raki can be diluted.

Very good atmosphere with live traditional music. We had kolloface and lamb cooked in wood oven. Kolloface was very tasty - a good portion and a great combination of meat, rice and eggs to connect it all in a "quiche like" recipe. The lamb meat was perfectly cooked. We wouldn't even need a knife to cut it, as it was very soft. We also had a soup with vegetables and rice. It was good. For dessert we had shendetlie. We recommend it if you like nuts. Staff is very kind, even if the place is crowded. Would definitely come back. Make sure you get there early to guarantee a table.

If in Tirana, you shouldn't miss this restaurant. Great food, friendly servers (Sergio was great and funny), great ambience and great live music. I recommend lamb, and for vegetarians the spinach pie and stuffed eggplant. The Albanian red wine they serve is very good, too.

  • 5/5 Yiting W. 6 months ago on Google
The traditional house decorated with old photo creates a nastagia vibe. Food is great. We try the lamb cooked in the traditional wooden stove. The meat is soon tender, but a little bit too fat for me. Eggplant stuffed with veg and herbal is must-try. Grilled veg is simple though, we love it's coal fired flavor. It turns out the Kasi is a kind of liquor, not for me. Staff is so kind. Highly recommend.
