When we looked into the menu and couldn't decide what to eat, the owner suggested, he'd put together a surprise menu for us. His words: "Today you will eat like the royals". We agreed and our expectations were surpassed! The food was extremely well seasoned and perfectly prepared! Especially the egg-bacon salad and the pork ribs were an unexpected surprise! My husband and I had the pleasure of eating at Floga our first night in Tirana. What a wonderful find! Not knowing what to order, the owner/chef, Artis, offered to prepare a chef's delight.....and it was. Our first course marinated spinach salad had a delicious dressing, followed by a dish similar to a fritter, roasted veal in flavorful sauce, and a special dessert of candied watermelon rind and figs. The restaurant was very modern, open and airy with a small outdoor patio. However, that is where smokers sit.

Then, we discovered that the reason behind was that they were giving us way higher prices in the printed menu than in the QR menu that was meant for locals. We asked why that was like that and they said that the QR code prices were wrong even though QRs were present at every single table in the restaurant. The wait staff were friendly, and the chef himself took time to ask us about our preferences. He offered to put together a meal based on what we liked and the house specialities... dont be afraid he knows what he is doing and he was not pushy at all. We really couldn't have asked for anything better as we thorough enjoyed everything, dish after delectable dish, placed in front of us. Everything was homemade, delicious and made with heart. The Risotto with pomegranate was really exquisite and the price is very fair. There is a great selection of vegetarian dishes, making me actually think on the menu a bit more than usual (as i am often used to one vegetarian dish). A bit of a bummer that you cannot sit outside right now, but i guess that is because of the off season only. I wish i also would have gotten a surprise menu as people seemingly had the best experience with that? but my waiter sadly didn't really give me that option... probably should have gone as a pair. Anyways, i had a great time and those things mentioned are nitpicks. There certainly are no rats or anything to be seen, everything is very clean! Maybe the next time i am visiting i will also get my surprise menu!

We decided to go to Floga for a quick dinner on our first night in Tirana and ended up having the best meal of our stay. The menu is simple but varied: tradional plates made with fresh ingredients, bread and butter are taken without asking, portions are generous and the staff (on the floor and in the kitchen) is friendly and attentive. The owner/chef even came to our table to greet us and recommend few specialities on the menu! It was such a nice surprise, I definetely recommend it!
