The location of this hotel is great and the common areas are very swanky. We felt the hotel rooms let the property down though as these were quite dated and incredibly noisy (we had a room at the back overlooking the room). The air conditioning didn't work in the room so we had to open the window to let in some breeze but this then resulted in us being unable to sleep due to the noise. Was quite a disappointing stay. Breakfast here was plentiful and served in a rather grand dining room. Definite room for improvement here.

Location is best. You can never find a better location in Tirana. Rooms are clean. Service is good. Clerks are nice and helpful. They also have their own taxi cars and every place that you can go in Tirana is in 15 minutes distance and the price is €5, almost fixed. Be sure to have a room in high floors and facing to square. View is really nice! Just adding some photos taken from my room. This is a no brainer hotel for every tourist visiting Tirana for the first time.

Unfortunately, the hotel didn't meet my expectations. Despite the wonderful location, I wasn't 100 percent satisfied. Breakfasts aren't varied, and the coffee during breakfast leaves much to be desired (there's no proper espresso coffee). What's more, for a week, I couldn't get them to send me the bill for my stay. I sent two emails and visited in person twice, and each time I was assured that I would receive it tomorrow…

One of the oldest communist era Hotels in Tirana. Great view when one is not getting a room looking straight at the Intercontinental Hotel. Unfortunately reception was not able to change room as we explicitly asked high room with view. Staff at serving breakfast was very friendly and helpful. Rooms are ok except the bathrooms have for my understanding a huge flaw. Bathroom is completely made from glass. Who wants to watch his/her loved one using the toilet? For new couples who are still a bit shy- it’s a no go. Location is perfect tough.

I stayed here for two nights for a conference. (-) Upon checking in, they lost my reservation, even though I had the confirmation number. The lady at the desk said that the reservation guy had left for the night and that's why it's not in the system yet, but I told her that I had booked this 3 months ago and then she had no answer for that. Also people kept coming up to the counter or the phone would ring and she would stop helping me to help them. At the end though, she wound up pulling through and just giving me a room, making it easy and that is why I gave 2 stars instead of 1. (-) Old room. There was a huge draft from the window and the room was freezing. The heater also did not work. (-) Literally zero available outlets in the room. I had to unplug the only lamp with an outlet to use it. Luckily I have a charger with 4 USB ports, and I charged my laptop in the bathroom. (-) Very light blanket - a heavier blanket to have as an option would have been nice. (+) Room service was good, although the menu was a bit weird. I ended up ordering the fettucine alfredo which was very good, and the person I spoke with on the phone helped explain what wines they had available and was very helpful. He was the one who confirmed that my room was freezing when he came to bring the food. (-) Also not associated with any larger hotel chain, so no points or rewards. I won't be staying here again. If I end up coming back for the conference again, I'll be staying at a different hotel.

The oldest hotel in Tirana, carrying a historic symbolism. Rooms, however, look old and feel old (appliances, facilities etc). Friendly staff at the reception-exactly the oppisite at the restaurant. Great location. The restaurant has a wonderful view to the central square, although the quality of breakfast has lessened (no fruit, no nuts, no gluten-free food, bad coffee) and most employees are unwilling to help. This startles a frequent visitor. Looks like 4star, but feels like 3star.

Brigena, Denisa, Jana are SO helpful, warm welcoming, and give the most amazing energy the minute you walk into the front desk. They are available to help 24/7 and that made me feel so safe and welcome. 10/10 recommendation! I will 100% be coming back as soon as i land in Albania every single time. Amazing experience!

Great location and lovely breakfast. Unfortunately the staff didn't speak very good English. While the hotel was OK, there are better options nearby that are cheaper, so not sure it is worth the price.

Rooms are ok and well cleaned by a nice personnel but service is incredibly bad. Food is not good at Restaurant. Cold every five days and you always fell like disturbing the People at reception or at Restaurant. It would be nice to adapt a bit, clients should feel good not a problem for personel of the hotel.

If you looking for a nice view that's the hotel for you, but unfortunately that's all you be happy with, very bad costumer service, unfriendly reception. TV didn't work, curtains ripped. Very expensive. Mattress was going down and making a noise when you moving.

This hotel has potential but it is far from 4* star because of organization. Less information, the staff speak no good english and the rooms are very stinky on cigare. I am no smoker and it is really unpleasant. The room is very bad and those walls are very stinky but the bed is very confortable. Breakfast in the restaurant is weak and there is no fish,or another food for restrictions who have. Location is perfect,it is in a middle of the headsquare and really good. As I sad, this hotel has potential and can be better but managers needs to improve the service.

This is a great hotel with the best location, best staff and best facilities. I was there many times and the thing which i liked most was the terrace with the fantastic view of the Scanderbeg square. They have also great staff starting from the security, the reception ,waiters etc. This hotel is worth it to spend the money 😊

There are new nice rooms that you can see on the Booking site and old shabby but clean rooms. The hotel has the most beautiful terrace with a view of the main square. Service is the slowest I ever experience, but that adds to the feeling of peace and chill.

I stayed four nights at this historic hotel in the very center of the city. I was lucky to get a high-floor room with a view to the main square. Staff is nice and speak English. The restaurant offers delicious dishes and the breakfast offer is very complete. Negative parts: I arrived around 10am and was asked to pay EUR40 to access the room before 2pm (early check-in) even when it was already available. There is no gym. True coffee is not included for breakfast and you need to order it and pay for it separately.

Although built in 1979, still remains one of the best places, not only for rooms, but also for the bar & restaurant. I have had the opportunity to organise lunch/dinners here for my tourists and we have enjoyed so much thanks to the best position and facilities. Well-prepared staff, gentle, positive and always willing to help you. Reconstructed in 2001, still iconic. If you intend to organize conferences & seminars, Tirana International Hotel offers to you different conference halls. Great place to have a morning coffee in the bar, too. Overall, one of the best hotels ever! I highly recommend it...! 🙂

Dont trust them on reservations. Messed up reservations for 15+ people at our event and took no responsibility, nor attempted to fix it. We found a much more welcoming hotel nearby. Reservations manager came down and even had a list with our names on but still wouldn't help. Even whilst there, I noticed another party of travellers also with a denied reservation who were left high and dry as well. A shame as it looked like a nice hotel from the lobby.

Chairs in the conference rooms need to change. That kind of chair is comfortable for a short stay or a meeting where you have a desk or a table to lean on. I attended a book promotion and spent 1½ hours sitting. Chairs for this purpose must be ~5 cm shorter, with the back at 7° inclination at least.

This is in reality a 2* hotel, although they sell it as 4* on Booking i.e. They put nice photos on the web, but these are not photos of a standard room. This is how bathroom in a standard room looks like, check photos. If you can choose, pick another hotel if you want a standard room.

  • 4/5 Pascal S. 9 months ago on Google
Very nice and friendly welcome from all the staff The room was nice except that we had asked and we got a room with a view on the square but the window was really « old » and you could no really see through. An issue with condensation between the 2 windows pane. Disappointed with the breakfast that was not what you could expect from this type of hotel. Nice but below expectations

Basic 3 star retro hotel with old bathroom in great location. Water bottle in room is charged € 1,50 while all other hotels on my trip across Albania offered complimentary bottles Breakfast reminds of socialist times, cheap „Ham“, instant coffee from machine. Just ready black tea, no tea bags. Proper coffee from barista has to be paid additionally. Fruit in July was apples. When asking for any other fruit like melons, peaches or anything in season I was offered to get an orange. I paid € 89 per night, which does not match the low standard offered. When I cancelled my second night to move to another hotel next door, I was refunded only € 79,- as I was told that the hotel pays € 10,- fee to Swiss company. Even while I booked at hotel‘s website. There are many brand new hotels in Tirana, you can make choices. Although I was very disappointed by the loveless appearance of the hotel and the sad flowers I must say that staff was very friendly and professional. Perfect English and German spoken.

Bad buffet, bad service, charging for water and there is no complementary water, water kettle, iron and slippers upon request, it should be available on the rooms as standard, the buffet is not varied. The plugs are limited and far from the bed, the 3rd bed is not properly located, the room is too small for it, and it is very hard to circulate around the room, definitely not the 4 stars hotel I was hoping for, this is atmost a 2-3 stars. Very disappointing. The finishing of the room and the toilet is super bad, we had two windows, one of them was laminated with no view, the other one was viewing the roof and ac ducts.

  • 4/5 Gjergj T. 9 months ago on Google
Overall, it was a good stay and in central location. However, rooms need to be updated, and AC units need to be replaced. In the summer heat of Tirana, these you units can not hold the cool air in the room.

They are big time cheaters. We booked room directly on their website and room rent was shown as 105 euro but they charged 158 euro on my credit card. Later on, at the time of check in, they started arguing that breakfast is not included in this price and there will be extra charge for breakfast then we showed them the email confirmation which clearly mentioned breakfast included in the price. The next thing they started arguing that we need to pay 30 euro extra for the 7 year kid since the room rent (105 euro) is only for 2 adults. We showed them the booking confirmation which clearly mentioned that we booked room for 3 guests, but they didn't accept. Since they already charged the credit card for 158 euro, by hook or by crook they wanted to keep all that money. Staff were rude and unpolite. They argued with us for 40 minutes at the time of check in instead of giving us room despite of the fact that we were extremely tired after 7 hr long flight. Their Wi-Fi sucks. I think they don't deserve to be 4 star.

Amazing hotel with amazing service specifically from Brigena, Tristan, and Erald. All three offered amazing service while checking in and throughout the stay. This hotel would not be what it is without the amazing service offered by these three. I will be coming here again because of them. They all deserve raises!!

Clean, quiet and comfortable rooms, very delicious food. However a minus point of the hotel is service. Receptionists weren't polite and nice to us. As a representation of such a good hotel, they should definitely be more friendly to their guests.

The best view in Tirana. The kindest employees. Rich breakfast. Reasonable prices. Pragmatic staff. Perfect location. The receptionists were beyond helpful and polite. This hotel was the only hotel during the communist era so it is really special. The elevator was fast and available. The parking was included in the price. Strong wifi connection.

Mostly this hotel was fine and the staff were friendly. However, I had one very disturbing incident with one of the hotel clerks. I was leaving early one morning to go on a day trip with my backpack. As I was walking out the door the man began demanding my room number and accusing me of leaving without paying. Well, first of all, I already paid. SECOND, I was going on a short day trip to a lake and would be back in the evening. AND, I should not have to explain where I'm going every time I walk out of the hotel. I should ALSO not have to worry about a clerk accusing me of, basically, stealing. This guy started harassing me and accusing me of trying to skip out on the bill (again, already paid when booked) because I was leaving with a backpack. Be careful in this place. Also, none of the amenities (pool, gym, etc) are available due to "construction." I'd recommend much nicer and similarly priced hotels in the area that have working amenities and staff that won't harass you. Unimpressed with this place overall.

Without the wifi-issues this would have been a 5 star stay. Beautiful restaurant with good wine and menu. Well equipped bar. Rooms are a little old, but well taken care off and well equipped. Unfortunately, the wifi only worked, at times, in the lobby and restaurant. I had no connection in the room, which is quite the disaster when it is a conference hotel, catering to people on a business trip. Staff and GM are really friendly, especially the staff in the restaurant.

    1. Rooms very clean 2. No kettle, tea bags, sugar and coffee in room at all, they said it's not in their culture But this is basic international service in the most world 3. If you don't like noise don't take room face the square 3. Breakfast basics no variety 4. Better to have Albanian guide with you 5. It's not cheap country

  • 3/5 Anna L. 1 year ago on Google
The hotel is very strategically located on the main square of the city and capital of the country. Young and helpful staff. Some rooms are dark and also noisy due to the works all around (impressive construction work ongoing) and in the hotel itself.

  • 4/5 Andrei M. 1 year ago on Google
There are rooms that are renovated and are really nice, but some rooms still have the old furniture. A little confusing if you want to use the steps, you have to switch to different stairs and you need to always pass through the restaurant if you want to go to third floor of higher.

  • 2/5 Anisa K. 1 year ago on Google
Booked a tripple hotel room through expedia and walked In to a 2 single bed room. Went to reception to ask and she insisted to add a 3rd bed to the already small room. The manager who was helping me picked up a call in the middle of my conversation and was trying to fix another issue when I was already there. After almost 15min on the call she then apologized to me and gave me another room with 3 beds. I definitely expected more from one of the first hotels in Tirana but the staff was not friendly and felt like I was a bother to them from the start. A smile goes a long way and did not get one from the entire stay there. Room was clean and updated and location was great but they need to train their staff to offer customer service.

We really loved this place and would stay again. We stayed there on our first night in Tirana and woke up to the view of the construction site, but the second night we stayed we got a view of the beautiful piazza! Wow what a view! The breakfast buffet was exceptional with gluten free options and so many food choices. also the breakfast restaurant is superbly placed. Lots of sunny places to sit over looking that fantastic view. The bed mattresses were comfortable. Great mini bar! The staff were welcoming, kind and professional. Thank you. Not so good: Big construction site along one side. The rooms are a bit dated. Pillows could have been better. Too fat for me. The coffee. TV channels Great place, will come again and request the view!

We sit in the restaurant area in the second floor. Very calm and relaxing place with an excellent service. Nice coffee, tea and especially very tasty deserts. The prices were low comparing to the quality of service. I would return with pleasure for a coffee and a desert and why not for lunch also.

I had 1 month stay at TIH for my business work. Overall experience was ok not that much of disappointment regards to room, location and food. It is located at center square of TIRANA so most of attractions are just at 5 mint walking distance. Also they facilitate taxi(paid) to tourist spots and local transportation. I had very bad experience with internet and wifi , i complained many times but they don't bother that much. Wifi signals are very poor in room.. also room lights are not much brighter in my room. They have to give some attention to these areas as it is basic requirements for traveller.

Cartel type of hotel!!!! Stay away!!!! I had the most unpleasant encounter in my last 20 years of traveling! The first morning I went down to the restaurant to have a coffee. By the way breakfast (included) was very mediocre, worse than Motel 6. I only had coffee and my only remark was the coffee machine and the terrible coffee that they offer. The staff seemed friendly at first, but when I complained and I am citing ' probably you should suggest to management to change the machine' they become feisty. I paid the bar coffee and left the hotel, running some meetings. When I came back the front desk informed me that some director had requested a meeting with me. At first I was surprised but then said to myself "oh finally things have changed in Albania and they want to improve and hear my coffee complaint. I agreed and as the lady was leading the way I felt uncomfortable since I was expecting the meeting to be on a public space, but when I entered the office there was another lady seating across from the 'director' who didn't even introduced himself and I said to myself, ok there is a witness. Little did I know I was walking into this trap for him and her to humiliate me! The conversation degraded so quickly, I could not believe my eyes and ears as to what I was witnessing. When I asked for his name he just had it and cursed me out from his office!!!! I Really feared for my life that night! I didn't know where to go and there was not enough time for me to find another hotel. I informed the American Embassy in Tirana and the Serbian Embassy and I reported the incident so they can steer away their tourists. I suspect he was being racist because my husband is Serbian! What an embarrassment and I mind you this is the face of Albania. I don't want to mention his name due to the investigative course of the incident, but nevertheless this place is very dangerous because the people that think will protect you are the one to attack, bully, extort and retaliate! You could feel the uneasiness and the fear in all staff faces! Scary!
