Really nice older style hotel, seems to be run by a very capable group of 4 young people who work very hard and long hours. Sadly the spa and pool were no open. Rooms clean and comfortable. Location good for bars/restaurants/Castle area.

Es hakt an Kleinigkeiten! Sie geben sich Mühe, das Hotel ist edel eingerichtet, edle Hölzer, Messing, Samt. Man bemüht sich in vielen Bereichen das Niveau eines Grand Hotels zu erreichen. Es gibt eine gute Auswahl an Weinen und Zigarren, das Personal ist freundlich und um den Gast bemüht, die Zimmer sind gut eingerichtet. Aber diverse Kleinigkeiten reissen es dann doch nach unten. In der Kaffeekanne am Frühstücksbüffet war noch eine halbe Tasse lauwarmer Kaffee, keiner von uns mochte den trinken ... der Kellner wollte aber auch keinen neuen bringen, guckt in die Kanne, sieht, dass noch eine halbe, lauwarme Tasse drin ist und stellt die Kanne wieder hin ... Wenn der Orangensaft leer ist, dann ist er halt leer, neuen gibt es nicht (das ist selbst bei 2 Sternen besser). Ein Fleck auf der Tischdecke vom vorigen Gast passt auch nicht so richtig ins Grand Hotel. Ärgerlich auch die Abrechnung. Wir hatten nach "late checkout" gefragt und uns wurde gesagt, dass es 40 Euro kostet ... okay ... bei der Bezahlung waren es auf einmal 60 Euro. Ursprünglich sollte der swimming pool inklusive sein, bei der Abrechnung kostete die Nutzung dann auf einmal 10 Euro. 30 Euro mehr als eigentlich vereinbart bringen uns sicher nicht um, aber die Art und Weise zieht die Stimmung herunter.

Weder Sauna noch Schwimmbad sind offen, Frühstück ist auch sehr begrenzt und Tische beim Frühstück werden schon neu eingedeckt, obwohl man noch dort sitzt. Nach 20 Minuten Diskussion war mehr als der Firmenname nicht möglich, Firmensitz absurderweise Afghanistan. Betten sind ok, daher 2 Sterne Bewertung statt einem. A bit far from the town center but there is nothing missing in the area, from local restaurants to fancy BARs. Well serviced by Bus and, if you want to take a walk, is also a good occasion to see the huge differencies between the past and the acutal town growing up fast. The room was good; might be a plug close to the bed instead of on the opposite side of the wal :-). Service was very good and the two ladies at the receptions were very kind.

What's a Grand Hotel & SPA that is not Grand and doesn't have SPA? A SCAM! They haven't had a working SPA for a year now, but apparently they have some problems updating their website (???). They clearly know that you can't do anything about it once you get there (as it happened to us). The breakfast is below average, the rooms and the structure dated... May have been a Grand Hotel 10 years ago.

Staff are curtious but some of them need to improve their language skills. Room maids are superb and great need a bit of language skills improved. However if you rent a car and you leave the keys at front desk it might be bad idea. They parked my rental at a reserved spot and almost got fined. So definetly be careful they tend to be forgetfull where they park cars if they are crowded with cars.
