This place was amazing to visit. My partner and I got a taxi from town and the driver waited for us for 40 minutes and then drove us back into town. This cost us 20€ which was a great price to us. The view is like nothing else. It's free to enter and look around, and there's a bar inside. They did food, but we only got coffees -- I had an iced latte while my partner had an iced cappucino. Had to wait a while because the machine had only just been turned on, but wasn't a problem as we just sat in the sun admiring the view. The only downside was that they only took cash and no card, and since we were visiting while on holiday in Corfu, we only had euros with us. This would have been more problematic had we bought a full meal, but luckily we only needed a small amount of cash for the coffees and they accepted euros. Deducting one star due to this as it was inconvenient. There's plenty of seating and the place was deserted except us and a couple doing a wedding photoshoot. Would strongly recommend.

The castle has been partially restored and is great to look at. Entry is free and the view is beautiful, especially at sunset it's worth it. Unfortunately there is no kind of museum or tour as there is only one restaurant there (which we didn't visit). Unfortunately there is a lot of rubbish around the castle and the castle itself is clean. You can drive your car to the parking lot in front of the barrier.

It was supposed to be a historical place, but it is modified completely in a restaurant. However, I went there in closing time so I cannot rate the dishes and services. Anyway, my 1 star is due to the monkey left alone in a cage. In Albania, I do not know if keeping wild tropical animal is allowed

Fortress complex above Saranda, well prepared and accessible for tourists, unfortunately no longer managed in a gas-stronomic manner in mid-October when the weather was beautiful☹️ Great view of the surrounding landscape, therefore still recommended 🤓

Here is the scam! Usually this castle is just for paranomic view and picture. Mostly locals recommend not to eat there, and entrance is free of cost. Today I have booked taxi and visit this castle there was a concert inside. At the entrance people were charging 500lek (5euros) just because of there was concerts. So everyone who visits castle was forced to pay for concern weather you see concerts or not. I requested them sir I don’t want to see concert I want to see castle I will take 5 minutes to see view and come back. There were bouncers and they misbehaved and very unprofessional approach. I requested three times as I paid one day hotel and taxi to see castle but I was absolutely unwilling to pay for concert. But they nonsense and uncivilised people forced to pay for concert. It was horrible experience. This happened to so many tourists and they all were super angry like me😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡

Why does this restaurant need several security guards? Because they wanted to charge 500 lek p. p. for the entrance (at least when we were there in the evening) for a live music event that would take place later that day. When we refused to pay it they would not let us in (guarding the entrance). Also they followed us when we tried to walk outside the castle to get a pic of the few. There is a public street outside the castle that leads to a platform, but they parked cars in front of it, so tourists wouldn't discover the road and pay the entrance instead.

👍👍👍👍🏰 Lëkursi Castle & Restaurant 🍽 is truly a unique place. It is very well preserved, has several historical artifacts on the premises, and also has an AMAZING view! Parking and admission is absolutely FREE! And to top it all off there is a full service restaurant located inside where you can dine like royalty. This is a "must visit" destination... and don't forget to bring your appetite! 😋

The restaurant was open and we ordered iced coffee to go for about 200lek while touring around the castle. It's very pretty decoration and great view

Beautiful sunset. We came off peak, so the quiet peaceful feeling is heavenly. Cool breezes yet it warms our hearts inside. Unforgettable.

Very nice place and clean, with dream view. I will give one star because they have a poor monkey in a small cage. I don’t understand way such a beautiful place have to ruin everything.

Quiet in the winter months but it's free which is a pleasant bonus. It's a nice walk up a narrow road off the main road. Plenty of parking places if you go by car. Some lovely views from the castle and there's a lighthouse on the way up and some old bunkers.

Great great views! The restaurant looks lovely too and it stays open the whole year! Totally recommend walking up

It is really worth climbing up to admire the sunset. I don't like using a monkey in a small cage as a tourist attraction. If the walk is too much for you, you can go by car / taxi

The restaurant wasn’t open when we came, but the view was amazing! Also lots of these small bunkers around, so pretty interning to see and also very good as a photo spot

If you want a nice panorama for the Sarande city, this is the best place. The castle is represented by a restaurant and its terrace. Also, the place is accessible for cars as well.

A stunning location to eat and watch the sunset over the city. When I visited it was still spring, so no one was dining outside as it was chilly. I imagine this place is bustling over the summer months! We got some tea to take out of the restaurant, the guy working was v helpful. Can’t comment on the food as we didn’t eat.

The view is incredible from the top if there is no function restricting the access. We went on a Saturday and there was a wedding blocking off the best parts of the view and security did not let us through. For an area by the sea and has a lot of sea food the produce we received was quite disappointing. (the taxi driver recommended to get pizza there - without us realising what he was hinting at) The seafood mix grill was and looked terrible. If you intend to visit we wouldn’t recommend the restaurant just go for the view during sunset

Cool views but the castle itself isn’t that special. It looks cool but the restaurant inside it makes it feel really commercial. Still recommend going! No ticket and awesome 360 views, including on Saranda.

We walked up from Sarande and we’re very glad that we did (although a bit of a hike, so may recommend driving if with small children etc.) The views are definitely worth it and although we didn’t stop for food/drink, the restaurant also looked lovely. You can get a 360 view of Corfu/Sarande and the valleys/coast - great for photos.

Nice view over the city. At evening there is a lot of people looking sunset and it's a nice place for it. But please arrange proper cage for the monkey. It's heart breaking to see how does he/she live right now.

Absolutely the best place to visit in Sarandë and it's free! The castle itself is beautiful and romantic with absolutely stunning panoramic views. It would be nice to have a little information about the castle available.

Very beautiful place all year round. The grounds are immaculate and the restaurant is gorgeous. No visit to Saranda would be complete without a visit here. Great spot for a coffee, drinks or a meal — although a little on the more expensive side as would be expected. Highly recommended. A+

Astonishing view. Bad road to approach but worth to try. Excellent view to Saranda, sea, Krf and lake on the other side. Fine restaurant but no cakes and sweets, just ice cream. Also, it is working from 18.00 hours only. Worth to visit.

Nice view from the top of the hill (~300m). Maybe the best to visit around sunset. Approaching road is narrow. Lot of parking places at the top (gravel surface). In the castle is restaurant and one part like lot of tables to sit for some drinks and food.

Great place to visit and have Saranda in the background with a glass of wine. Was nice to see traditional dancers and live music. Unfortunately, the prices that they charge for the food quality need to improve. Most of our pasta and risoto dishes were overcooked. The raw seafood is not that fresh. At night, the high volume of the music doesn't let you enjoy the view or have a normal conversation with your companions. The place also doesn't accept credit cards, only cash!

Pretty well maintained. Recommend going with a guide. Did the trip on our own and was still great, but would have preferred to learn more about this ancient city.

Very nice view. The walls are very well preserved. There are 3 guns from the wars on display. You can park right on top of the mountain. You should be careful with small children as there are a lot of broken pieces around the area.

Beautiful place to witness amazing sunsets. It has perfect view of the city overlooking ocean. The cafe is really cheap so you can buy some drinks and enjoy some amazing sunsets from this place.

The two stars is completely for the beauty of the place. However, the restaurant wasn’t operating even though it was during the working hours posted online. Service was nonexistent, actually one customer thought I was an employee because there literally wasn’t any one else in there but me… I would have loved to actually try the food. Unfortunately, they didn’t even have the chef in the restaurant. Anyhow, the restaurant itself is beautiful and the views are amazing.

A narrow but asphalt road leads to the top, there are several large parking lots along the way. You can easily cross it on foot. There is a beautiful castle at the top with an even more beautiful view. I recommend every vacationer visiting Sarande to pass this facility.

Amazing spot for sunset views and a nice dinner. We were surprised with how many tables there were, it’s a big terrace! We had the Lekuresit pasta and a sea fish dish. The prices are on the higher end compared to other Albanian restaurants. The only downside is that many people stay around the castle for pictures instead of eating, but the terrain is big enough with many different beautiful spots!

Perfect place, perfect location. You can see whole sarandë from there, you can see the best sunset. Nice stuff, quick service, the only thing that was not good was the food, when we ordered we got the food very quickly and it was cold.

Spectacular place at all times of day but best at sunsets. The 360 is just breathtaking from the mountain range north to the valley in the east the lagoon to the south and the sea and Corfu to the west. Its a small castle that has pretty much been turned into a restraunt. But you can also just get a drink and just enjoy the view. The main way up via road is tarmacadam most of the way, but pity there is no obvious footpath up the western side. Free entry too

Wy do they do this? It is better to make an End for this poor Monkey. From the Castle is not so much to see. There is a big Restaurant an a few Stones left. The View is nice.

Amazing views from all sides, the actual restaurant was closed when we went but you are free to walk around and enjoy the history and views.

We happened to be here before peak season so our group was basically the only group there. Definitely a place worth visiting. Beautiful scenery. The staff at the restaurant was maybe a little… slow? But it was ok.

Interesting place, great view. Sadly not too much to visit, its mainly restaurant placed inside old walls and nothing more. Still if you are around, worth to visit

We visited this castle in the spring and what a sight it was. One side of the castle is the bright blue seas and on the other side is the Albanian Alps. And in the spring, the castle is completely adorned with wild flowers eveywhere..a feast for the eyes as well as the insects visiting it. Highly recommend visiting this gem of a place.

5 star for the location 4 star for the food 3 star for the service 2 star for the management You definately need to go there in the sunset. It is one of the most beautiful restaurants of Albania. Food is very good like everywhere in Albania. Service is slow, non attentive and our exact table we booked was not ready at rhe time of the booking there were people eating. So we almost missed the sunset The "2" is for the wedding situation. In one part of the restaurant was big beautiful wedding. With music and dances. With a lot of lights which ruined the night view on the city. But the most terrible was that in the main part of the restaurant was live music too. So ... oh god, my ears. I just waited to finish the wine food and go home.

Wonderful castle with an absolutely amazing view, it is slightly run down a bit with little care but looking besides that it's worth it for the shear view and experience!

I will not rate restaurant, because it was morning and it was closed, no guests. I could only saw that there is huge huge terrace with many tables and seats and very nice looking. Place is amazing, view on whole bay and city. Must see when you are in Saranda. Top atraction. You can go up with car and park at top of the hill.

  • 5/5 Nikodem B. 1 year ago on Google
The views were really incredible I am not sure I have seen anything better, however the road to the castle could be better. I mean there were lots of potholes and it had some tight turns, they could work on that.

👍👍 This restaurant was recommended by locals and many articles so we had to try it. We had a light dinner and everything we ordered was super tasty. We had the baked feta, octopus with mashed potatoes, bean salad and fish soup. We had to wait about 20 min but it went by fast

😠 I wish I never stumbled in this restaurant. No doubt, it has a nice view - tons of windows around the restaurant - so if you want to just order a drink fine - but food - forget it. I tried the vegetable soup - it was absolutely so strange, no flavor, had a taste of not being fresh - no spices used...

👍👍 Lovely fish served there! And prices are reasonable. We've been served extra appetizer (bread, white creamy cheese, chopped tomatoes with garlic) & desert (lemon ice cream), that was surprising and very nice!

👍 The fish was good but too expensive for what it was. Went to better, cheaper places in the city. The vegetables were cold. The chicken haf a better price quality ratio. And good quantity. The service was good and they even brought us a dessert on the house.
